i (20f) have been working at my job for 4 years and had my first bad review . it was a party of 9 sitting in 2 tables , they brought a 2 1/2 year old child with them who kept trying to jump from one booth to another . he was throwing coasters at other tables and kept running up the hallway . the server in the section next to my almost tripped over him a couple times as well . the first time he tried jumping from the booth i asked the mom if she could have her child sit because i didn’t want anyone to get hurt . she said she understands but did not correct his behavior , i said nothing until he did it a fourth time . she yelled at me that she tried telling him there’s nothing she can do . i continued with the table and said nothing else .
when it was time for them to leave her husband told me that they would’ve left a better tip but they didn’t like my service and that i was rude . i told the man i didn’t like his son running around the restaurant either but i was sorry for my “poor service.” he proceeded to tell me he hopes that i learn from this and become a better server . i told him i hope he learns to discipline his child and to have a nice rest of his day . i don’t like to argue with customers especially over CHILDREN . i know it’s not the child’s fault , it’s the parents so i didn’t want to continue arguing . as i was prebussing their table they kept saying that i was rude and mean . i asked if they wanted a manager they said yes . my manager told them that i did nothing wrong and that the restaurant is not a playground . the lady then came to the back and yelled at me telling me i need to learn hospitality and that the restaurant was not family friendly and we should have a sign saying “no children welcome.” i did nothing but smile as she continuously pointed her finger in my face and yelled . she kept saying that is how children act and that my manager should focus on being a manager instead of a parent . am i wrong for telling her to discipline her kid ??

I met this girl in work, about a half a year ago. First half of year, be barely talked to each other, i had my job to do, as herself.
Then, about half a year ago, something clicked, we started talking and talking and talking. For last few months, we talked like 3 hours per day in work, if we weren't we constantly communicated by texts in work and after work. Turned out she had fionce, for a year now, or two. She is 23, I am 29, her fionce is also 29. And he also works with us, but in the other room. I thouhgt it is weird, being engaged in that young age, but, hey, not my business.
I never planed falling in love in her, i guess you neved did. But time passed, and we were always close. Even boss noticed that something is going on.
There started to be subtle signs that maybe something is going on, from her and from me.
Then we decided that we want to spend more time together, so me meet first time outside the work. We knew ouself pretty well by this time, we talked for hours and hours everyday for months.
I was afraid, that maybe i am imagining things, that there will be her fionce on the spot and they will beat the shit out of me. Fuck it i said, i am not very reasonable person. I decided to talk with her about my feelings, to let her know my intentions. Check if I am imagining things or maybe not.
So we met, everything was great, turns out we have mutual feelings for each other. She was also afraid that she was imagining things. I feel bad for her fionce, dude did nothing to me, and right now i am taking love of his life from him. I know, shitty move, i will repent.
She told me that she was thinking about it for a some time, I told her that i think to advance our relationship, or even begin it she will have to end their relationship, and move out from him. Propably i will want her to stop contacting him whatsover. She got it. I think it is understandable. I didn't made any demans, or something, i think it is the natural turn of events. But for now, none of it mattered. I was half happy, half shocked. And got that feeling, that this is not win, there is a pleanty stuff that could go wrong
And as you imagine, pleanty stuff went wrong. She move-out for to days, as she told me, then she went back to him. Then she stopped talked to me.
I think it is good moment to talk about our personalities, to get better picture. She is kind, warm, careless, but also but of shy, not very assertive. She open very slowly, have trust issues. I am also kind, and careless, but i am also very open-comunicative, and pathologically truth-telling. If you like, and someone else lies, then it becoumes maze, you have absolutly zero idea which information is truth, you cannot make any conclusions, like, whats the point. I am done with it. I am not saying, i am not lying at all, if boss asks me we i am late i will not tell him that i played games to 4 a.m., or something, but in contacts with friends, family, i am always telling the truth. How many times it bited my ass i can't even count. Still, worth it.
We share a lot of intrests, same "carrer paths", same music taste, almost exactly same sense of humor. We look at life in pretty simlar way. I felt like reunion with my soul-mate, after eons of separation.
So, she stopped talked to me, after few days she told me that she can't, that she still have feelings to her fionce. Sure, understandable. I was mad, but not on her, as i said, understandable. Few days later we are talking again, topic of our feeling came back, few days later, nope, again. I was understranging, it is like a question 'how much time does it take to remove someone from your life"?
Week later topic cames back, new information shows up, she tells me that her fionce is suicidal, have problems, but she understands that what she feel for him isn't love but compasion? And now she is sure. She only need to find some help for him, so he wouldn't be alone when she leave him. Also, understandable. Once, if he dies, then there is no relationship between us, she wouldn't be able to look at me after this. Two, it is still her fionce, she still cares for him, i know that she would propalby for a long time after leaving him.
Took a week, she found help. We started talking about her moving out. New 'bullshit' problems came out, like how do i transport my lizard, how i move all my stuff, i do not have money right now. I provided solutions to all those problems. By this time i was kinda done, i mean, theese are minor inconvinients in my opinions, if she really meant what she says, it wouldn't be problem.
Somewhere around here, maybe week later or before she confide me about her problems. It took awhile, but i was happy, that she trusted me. I told her about my problems some time before, specificcly about the ones, that could have meaning in deciding if she wants to we with me or not. Mostly things of my pasts. She understanded me. Past is past.
Turned out, she sometimes have anxiety, and there are days, that she lies down rolled in blaknet, doing absolutly nothing for hours. Well, absolutly nothing. She fights for her sanity, and ability to do anything. Do not get me wrong, i know that this is extremally difficult. She also told me that she really need stability, or atleast illusion of it. Also, understandable
I told her that this isn't going nowhere, maybe we should just let it go and stop.. I had bad day. But it really was going nowhere, from my point of view. She told me that if i do that i will take her happiness, and she already made a choice.
Another few days pasts, maybe week or later,right now it's about month and a half since we told each other about our feelings.
She makes plans for us for future, etc, looks like she is really into it.
I finally got mad, told her, that this isn't fair either for me or her fionce, told her hew harsh words. I didn't offended her or nothing, more like stuff that i was stupid to believe that this will works out etc. After that, she told me that she promise me happy life forever, if she still has feelings for someone else.
I mean, sure, understandable, I do not want to be with someone who isn't sure about me. Problem is, i was already in state of solving thoose bullshit problems, finding flat to rent, organising money, etc. At the end nothing happed, but what if i would do some serious steps, inreversable steps?
I get it, she is shy, problems with trust, and communication. I myself am asocial, i think. But her problem with comunication is still her problem, most the times i do not mind that all, but sometimes you need to take initiative and speak up, especially for your case.
Anyway, next day i apologised her for harsh words, either way, no matter what, harsh words were unneceserry. We were cool. Topic came back again. Yeah, she is still in to it, but needs time. Right now I already know about her anxiety. Now here is where i am sure i made a mistake. Few days later, maybe week i brought topic back. And the fact that i can kind of rethink some stuff in 2-5 days, doesn't mean that she also needs just a few days. Her situation is different then mine, she had different experiences in life than I, she is a different person than I. In my thinking I didn't realised simple fact, that she may need more time than few days. And i was so in-her-face. Right now most initiative was from me.
We're close to the end.
One day, in work, everything is good, we talk normally. She writes me to come to her, i came. She writes again, a said nope, told her that she can came to me aswell. She insists. I didn't came after all. Asked why, she will not came, she said it is weird. WTF? Worth to mention, that we already had a talk with a boss about this, as you can see clearly, we wasted a lot of company time. Thing is, even if i spend 3 hours doing zero work, and the and of day i still did really a lot of work, so.. Anyway, on the beginnins she was coming to me, after this talk with boss i was coming to her.
Day was good, i remember specfically that i asked her this day 'when will we stop with this 'game' (sorry, English isn't my native languagne, and this is the most fitting word i know to descriebe what i said), and start to develop or even begin our relationship. And she answered that she heve to first solve her problems. Anxiety thing.
This day we were suppose to met. I was planning to tell her there, that my fellings doesn't changes, but i think we should stop, chill out, and she should focus on her problems. To be fair, i was less chilled out person in this whole situation. At least i think so. I have a pretty boring life, so this was biggest event of it at this time, so naturally i was focused on it. I was stressed as fuck this whole time, i lost 15kg of weight (33 ibs?). One one hand really, really bad, i know. On the brighter side, i wanted to lose more-or-less this weight anyway, so, hey. Depends how do you look at it, if glass is half-full or half-empty.
And i am going on the spot, and what do i see? Her fionce is waiting there for her. And me being me insted of walking away, first thought i had was "Well, this will be intresting" and i am going in to him.
Now, i barely now this guy, talked to him maybe two times before my attepmpt to destroy his life. There was one situation, when i talked to her, he came, then he left, but later he came to confront me to stay away from his woman. I told him that i will propably do nothing with this information. He felt disrespected. I didn't meant to. He was showing some signs of agression, will to handle this in another way. He would fucking snap me like a twig. I told him that i can see that, like this is obvious. Plus, how this exactly would resolve this problem?
Anyway, i was kinda stressed, kinda mad, so i decided, hey, lets talk with this guy again. Took him outside. Hoped that i will learn something, without giving out any information. I wanted to know what he knows, or what he thinks. This girl told me that the told him about her feelings towards me right at the begining, after out first meeting. And that she still plans to keep meeting with me. Stupid move. Or way to make him jelaous.
Zero new information came out from either side, he told me to fuck off, i said that it isn't upto him to decide who spends time with who. I told him indirectly, that he should do something for her that would definitly remove me from the picture. Because let's face it, he can do waaaaaaay more than i do. And i personally would bet my money on him. But hey, i am in love, clearlly, i am not thinking clearlly.
So, present day, he sits there, i am coming, we talking about 5 minutes, i told him that this shit needs to and, itn's not even funny, or productive, everyone suffers from this sutiation. He seems Clueless. and 5 minutes passes and he is like 'I think i start to understand what is going on"... Could it be that he is even more naive that me?
Anyway, she cames, says what a suprising meeting. I was like yeah, soooooo suprising. And they start walking of. I have WTF, what about me, we were supposed to meet. She declined. I told her, that this shit needs to end. He told me again to fuck off. I told him again, that's not his call. I asked her if i should fuck off of her life and she nodded. So i fucked off
I was shocked for about hour, like, this is riddiculus, circus type of shit. What the fuck I am taking part in? This is friday, by the way
I texted her two messages, if i can ask one question, and that if she really wants me out of her live then i promise i will never interact with her in anyway. She didn't responded.
Monay work boss comes to me to talk, and says that this girl came to told him that i am hitting on her, i am constantly comming to her and she feels uncomfortable about it.
I told them that, yeah, indeed i am hitting on her and constantly comming to her, but this works in both ways, and it is first time i hear that she feels uncomfortable. No point in lying about it, everyone around us with eyes and ears know about that. Boss also knew, so nothing really happed. I told him that of course i will leave her alone.
I already told her, that i will leave her alone, I dind't even have any opurtunity to interact with her from that time. I told the boss that of course, we all are here to do business, we will keep things proffesional.
Now it's about week after that.
And i mean, what the fuck?
First conclustion is i was only a tool to fix her relationship. That is most propable scanario. As you can imagine, I am not a big fan of it.
Maybe she wanted me to fuck off from a long time, but didn't had a gut to say me that? Too hard? I mean, i think it's way easier to tell someone to fuck off instead of 'pretending' to be intrested with someone for a month, but ok..
The one I like is that she was really into it, meeting with her fionce was accident (I mean... I know that she will be her, i know time and place. He also was here, so he also know time and place. This is a clue that suggests that that she also known that he will be here. But hey, maybe he was trying to surprise her, be supportive, she had hard-times right now. I would do the same)
Imagine this. You have axiety, you can barely function, berely go to work, when you go back from work, you roll a blanket around you and stays that way until the evening, staring into the one point. This isn't the right time to break-up with fionce, move out, and start new chapter of your live. I get it
Buuuut, she could just texts me later that she really didn't meant it.
Insted she go to tell boss that i make her feel uncomfortable?
This also i could try to explain, maybe her fionce demanded it, or something. It it is this, or breaking, moving out etc while you barely function, i can see this as a solution.
This was a really, really shitty move from her, no deny it. I could lost my job because of that, if things escalated more. Good thing that everyone around including boss saw that in was working in both ways, so, nothing really happend. Still, really, really low play.
And what the fuck should i conclude of this?
I can convince myself to almost anything, so i have no problem no convince myself to any of theese scecarios what really happend.
This whole situation helped no-one. Now he can't trust her. I do not know if i can trust her, or believe her in anything. This isn't problem, as i am banned from her life, but still. I know, i kinda initiated this whole situation. I told her many times, that if she want, we can end this right now, as this is problematic, without hard feelings. Like i get it, i'm and in love, she as fas as i know also, but i can see that it works badly for us. Fuck me, but was worring about her. Her hapiness was priority for me, and right now this whole situation was giving her more stress than hapiness
Many times when i asked her what will we do about this, or what will she do about this. She replied 'i do not know' and didn't wanted to talk about this, as this gaves her anixiety.
And i refuse to believe that she is bad person, with bad intentions. Not believing in her feelings, would be really offensive, in case that they were real. But this is my thing, i always believe in people. Sometimes you need only one person to believe in you to stand up, find new strenghts to fight, and make yours dreams real. Tolkien shit. I believe in this.
And also she seemed like this kind of person, kind, and warm. If there was 40 people in the bus, i would bet that she is the one that would helped me out if i was laying on the street covered in blood.
I wasn't looking for woman, this just happend naturally, to the moment of our talk about feelings i had 50/50 changes vibe, that maybe i am imagining this.
I do not think she would invest so much time in this, risk (or fix) her relationship if she wouldn't care.
I can find answers on every questions for both possible scenarios, but telling the boss on me was such riddiculus move, i am out of words. Circus. This is what happends when kids tries to act like adults.
So, it was week now, no contact, she avoids me in the work, avoids eye contact, etc. I also respect her wish, she doesn't want be in her life, find, it's her right.
And i wonder, what I do now? I still want her in my life. I love her. This situation clearly tells me that she wants me to fuck off, or atleast it looks that way.
I cannot contact her. I mean, i can. But If she really want me to fuck off, then I do not want to bring bad memories, make her feel uncomfortable. I do not know if she really meant it. Most propably she does. She have also 'anxiety' (i do not know if it is most accurate term, but it kinda fits), so even if she didn't meant it, it would still be a additional problem for her.
I Imagine that from this meeting between three of us, she is having worst times... It is kinda her fault, but i still feel sorry for her...
Plan is that i keep zero contact for now, and i a month i reach her out once, and and if nothing changes, that's it. She told me that she needs time, i underestinated that. I was planning telling her about it anyway. I could aswell say that's it right now. Or Month ago.
I guess i am still hoping that this will still work. It could work. I do not believe in destiny, more like people are more compatible with each other or less, and we were really compatible with each other. We had very, very simlar personalities.
Aaaaand in this month she works on herself, her fionce supports her, and they fell in love in each other again... I mean, if her feelings were real, and i do believe they were, then again, you could ask, how much time do you need to remove someone from your life. Maybe she doesn't contact me beacuse she thinks i will not forgive her that. Propably she doesn't because she is done with me..
I do not know man, (or woman), this is beyond my understanding, this shouldn't be that difficult. You love someone or you don't. If you love two people, and you can't be with both, you chose one and do not regret. Do not look back. Not making decision is still making decision in a sense, i know it. Fact is that after thoose two months, she still lives with her fionce, and right now she doesn't even talk to me.
And I, being an idiot that i am still thinking that this still can have happy end for me. But right now it seems obvious that it doesn't.
Yeah, i know what to do with broken heart. What i would know from you is second opinion, another perspective. Or some hint, what to do to not end this 'relationship'.
Do not get me wrong, of course i will respect that if she wants me off of her life. I just want her to be happy. Preferabbly with me. But if that's out of the picture, i still want her to be happy.
She should explain herself, what the fuck is going on. I would like that.
And if she really wanted this to end like that, all she had to do was just to tell me.

I just bought a 2017 and got an service advance trac message, abs light and traction control light. I tested the resistance on the wheel speed sensors and one was bad so I replaced it. Message never went away. Then I started getting a “steering assist fault service required”. I’ve made an appointment with ford but they’re a week out. I took my boys up camping and now the power steering is out. I can still drive just fine, just need to be moving to steer the tires.
Anyone have any ideas? Regular readers from autozone or the like don’t read anything. Thanks

I was friends with this guy for about a year and he confessed that he had feelings for me. He knew the entire time that I was aroace. I told him that he could take the time he needs to get over me but i like him as a person and would like to continue to be friends with him. He said that he was over me 3 months later, the entire time we would hang out atleast once a week and call almost every other day for 5 hours atleast.
Suddenly, he became really withdrawn after he said that he was over me, and he went from texting me about his day and sending me 12 minute long vns to never calling or texting me once in like 2 weeks. This was sudden and I asked him if something was wrong, he said that he didnt want to annoy me and i told him I liked his texts and talking to him. We still met up and he said he was focusing on other people to get over me.
In December, he mentioned getting Christmas presents for each other. something I hadnt even thought of, so I picked out presents for him and he said he'd found the perfect present for me and didn't end up getting me anything. He also stopped texting me when he got home or calling. He began arguing with me for fun and I'd tell him to stop multiple times before I'd get annoyed and argue back, which in hindsight, I should have just hung up.
His best friends were probably jealous of all the attention he was giving me because they always were trying to sabotage my plans or would get mad at him when they called and he didnt answer because he didnt want to hang up the call with me. Which is understandable, but not my fault. But I think they did feed him things against me.
He wanted us to share a journal and swap it every time we met, and he said he had the perfect birthday present for me. He didn't call me or post me on my birthday, all of my other friends did. Neither did he show up to my party, he didnt even tell me he wasnt coming. He just apologised and sent a text at 10pm and didn't even pick my call up when i called him to tell him about my day.
The avoidance triggered something in me and I called him drunk and crying asking him why he didnt just talk to me, and he said that he was scared i'd leave. I reassured him i wouldnt and would love the old him back. He didn't change. Still argued for fun, I asked him if he still liked me and he said that he'd gotten over me ages ago. I'd argue back because it was so frustrating, I also used to ask him if he hated me when we met because he'd barely put any effort into our friendship anymore. It was as though he was simply floating through it. Made me feel like a burden.
We stopped talking. I asked him to hang out and he didnt answer, didnt return any of my calls. So i spam called him until he called me back and asked him what was wrong, he said that he just wanted us to live our lives. I took the blame on me, I should've been more understanding and appreciated the minor effort. He's the only one who matches my energy when we meet IRL. But I also was left unsatisfied emotionally. He felt so distant when we hung out. I apologised and sent him a letter explaining and appreciating him. He didnt reply to it so i called him,
He said that we just have different personalities and dont get along and wouldn't like to be as close as we were. After further inquisition, he said that he was seeing someone new and since he's liked me this entire time (which I did not know because he said he was over me) it would be weird. He's dating a girl who's the same ethnicity as me, which just makes me think he's using her as a rebound and was a fboy this entire time. He said that he'd still be friends with me in other circumstances but we have different personalities.
How did someone with "different" personalities manage to get so close to me. I'm extremely guarded and very picky about the people I speak to and let into my life. I think we genuinely got along unless this entire time his persona was a lie because he liked me. I agree that me arguing back and constantly asking me if he hated me and being contemptuous was not a nice thing to do. But I felt so unappreciated as a friend towards the end especially since I was putting in effort and trying and communicating.

I was going for the Grand Slam achievement and was missing only act 3 and 4 bosses, on a great act 3 run. It turns out they changed the mechanic of the focused fault and it got it's fucking thing on every one of my heroes. Was going into it so strong that I still was crushing it but it fucking killed Dismas one turn before it died.
Feel so tricked, they didn't specify how they were going to change the goddamn boss, I though they would slow down the eyes or make them susceptible to taunt, not rewrite the fucking boss.
Going to uninstal it for a while now.

I'm not sure but I think the reason some people think it's racist is, they hear the plan (outlined below) and they say to themselves "these people want to eliminate white people." But it's not white people the plan seeks to eliminate. In fact, it eliminates no people at all, by any means whatever. Its goal, instead, is to eliminate the fantasy we call whiteness. To me that's a very different thing. Although I can see how people might disagree.
Now, I previously asked (in the sister sub) if this plan was eugenics, and most of the responses were way more concerned with how specifically we would raise that marriage rate than they were about whether it was eugenics or not. People were worried that the plan would involve coercing or manipulating people into marriage.
And so I'll start with a brief description of how to raise the marriage rate between so called white guys and so called black women (I say so called because race is largely a fantasy). Without forcing anyone to do anything.
Then I'll give a new conception of racism, one that I think clarifies everything very usefully, hopefully bringing the temperature down about racism and allowing us to discuss it more calmly and clearly.
Then I'll restate the question, just in case those who read that far forget what I've asked.
And finally (assuming some of you may be interested) I'll give a bunch of objections I've heard previously, to a plan like this, and my responses to those objections. It's possible, among other things, that this plan will destroy the Democratic Party as we know it. Perhaps you see that as a good thing. Please feel free to select an objection to the plan, that you like, and add arguments in its favor or better rebuttals than I can provide.
I will not be able to respond immediately, but I promise to try to get to all thoughtful responses within 24 hours.
And that's how the post is organized. Here we go.
How to Raise That Marriage Rate
I've known for a long time that the marriage rate, between so called white guys and so called black women, was extraordinarily low. So called black girls learn this at the age of 7 or 8. It didn't occur to me until recently that that's really the key to eliminating racism.
You see, we seem to have made a lot of progress, against racism, over the decades. We're much less likely to have a race riot than we once were, we don't hang people from trees any more, we've halfway integrated the schools, we've elected a black president. On the surface it doesn't look nearly as bad as it used to.
But then if you look at that marriage rate, you discover that we've made much less progress than it appears. In 1960 that marriage rate was about 6 per 10,000. That is, of every 10,000 married so called white guys, 6 were married to so called black women. By 1998 that rate had risen to 2 per 1000. The colorblind rate would be 120 per 1000. So if you take that discrepancy as a measure of our actual level (as opposed to an apparent level) of racism, you find that we are at about 98% of our capacity for racism. Not individually: as a people. And all that progress we've made is only progress against the appearance of racism. Raising that marriage rate is the key hurdle, in beginning to make real progress.
And all we really have to do, to raise the marriage rate between so called white guys and so called black women, is begin telling the truth. Specifically there is one key fact of which everyone needs to become aware, and it is this: if while you're growing up you one day discover that you are unable or unwilling to fall in love with, and marry, a so called black woman, then your heart is broken. Your heart is not working properly. And you need to fix that.
The study of psychology is pretty clear on this: people work on their hearts, and make progress, all their lives. They can do this. And they will. If we tell them it's important to do so. If they do work on their hearts, and if they do raise that marriage rate, we will gradually become one people. Racism will end. No races: no racism. (Well, it's not QUITE that simple, but that's the gist. The actual change will be the destruction of the marriage barrier, without which racism will not be possible. Anything that looks like racism, without a marriage barrier, is just ethnic prejudice.)
So that's the plan. That's how to raise that marriage rate and, by so doing, eliminate racism.
What Racism Really Is
A lot of people seem to think racism is basically an individual thing. Their tactic, in eliminating racism, is to hunt down and re-educate (or take the livings of, or both) marginally plausible, identifiable so called racists. The data is in, unfortunately, and this is an error. We've been doing it long enough that if it was going to work it would have worked before now.
You see, that marriage rate, if this tactic were working, would be much higher. And so racism isn't an individual thing, it's a group thing. It's not a characteristic of individuals, but of a society. Certain individuals may have verbalized and made conscious their involvement with group racism, turning themselves into what we think of as bigots, and others may not have, but racism itself is expressed primarily in social preferences measured over millions of interactions by millions of people. And so it doesn't matter how many individuals you penalize for it, or re-educate, or both, the group problem will persist and continue to erupt in individual symptoms. So it's important to stop penalizing and re-educating people, because it doesn't work. Instead we need to show them how to fix it (as detailed above).
And the good news is, we're not morally guilty of racism. It isn't something we did. We didn't invent it or install it; we inherited it. And it didn't come with a user manual, to tell us where the switch is, if we feel like turning it off. We don't have to apologize for it, any more than so called black people have to apologize for having darker skin. We, we Americans, we were born this way. We were born with racism as a characteristic of our society.
Now, that doesn't mean that once someone shows us the switch, and shows us how to turn it off, we shouldn't do that. It's a harmful practice, deeply insulting to many whom we like to think we think of (I know, it's complicated) as members of our society, and it would be a glorious thing to finally defeat it. Has any other people actually eliminated racism without eliminating the subject people? I'm going to go out on a limb here: Never. It would be a world historical first. And a real step towards making America great again. I hope you all will see that this plan, as outlined above, will eliminate racism.
I deal with a number of objections below. But the basic question is: is this a racist idea?
As I said above, I won't be able to respond immediately, but I promise to try to get to all thoughtful responses within 24 hours (assuming the automod doesn't prevent publication and I have to appeal to the mods to get them to re-instate the post at some indeterminate time). And I thank you so much for your patience.
Let me just add that the responses to my first question in the sister sub, about whether this plan was eugenics or not, were so interesting and thoughtful, I was just floored. I sent this plan to 60 or 70 sociologists with an interest in race, and got zero thoughtful responses. I mean, not a ONE. I'm starting to think you all are each individually smarter than most, if not all, university professors of sociology who have a focus on race, all put together. Thank you again.
OBJECTIONS
Objection 1: It's Eugenics
There are a couple of different responses to this objection. The first is that if the intent was to affect our genetic portrait it might be, but it's not. The intent is to destroy the hallucination that is known as race.
The second response is: what we're doing NOW is eugenics. When so called white guys fail to fall in love with, and marry, so called black women, that is practical, popular eugenics. Sure, it's subconscious: that doesn't mean it's not purposeful. This is an anti eugenics plan.
The third response is: eugenics is a carefully applied genetic program designed to weed out undesirable genetic characteristics or improve or add desirable ones. Animal husbandry for humans. This is a plan to expand the pool of candidates from which so called white guys select marriage partners. To give people more choices, not less. That's actually kind of the opposite of eugenics.
Objection 2: It's Not Gonna Work
This objection is that regardless of whether raising that marriage rate is racism, or eugenics, or wtf, it's not gonna work, because people are perfectly capable of being racist against themselves.
This is an argument I've made myself and believe in strongly, and so it's troubling to have to disavow it, but in fact I don't think it's necessarily true. Do people discriminate against themselves, within their group, based on characteristics like skin color? Sure. Is that automatically and in every case racism? Hmm.
The problem, with the idea that within-group discrimination is racism, is that the heart and soul of racism is that marriage barrier. Words that sound racist, behavior that appears racist, are words or behavior that reference or evoke that marriage barrier. That social insult. This is why so called white people can be racist against so called black people, but so called black people can't do the same thing the other way: because there's no similar social insult that so called black people can evoke or reference by their words or actions. That marriage barrier is what makes racism so much nastier than ethnic prejudice.
And if the marriage barrier is gone, the social insult will also be gone, and any discrimination that persists will lack the force that makes racism the unique evil that it is. We will have eliminated racism, not by curing racists, but by eliminating the insult.
And so it is too gonna work, so there.
Objection 3: Are You Calling Me a Racist?
(embarrassed cough) No. I'm really not calling anyone a racist. Racism, as I see it, is an emergent property of the group (not individuals) - but it emerges from individual decisions, none of which individually are racist, but all of which together give rise to racism. And in fact, as outlined above, focusing on individual racism, trying to fix individual racism, is counterproductive, because it gives us the false sense of accomplishment that has contributed so much to our failure to notice the real racism that pervades our society.
It's kind of like the movie The Matrix. The theme of this movie is that we're all just hallucinating the reality we experience, while in reality aliens are using us for their own vile purposes. With racism, we're all hallucinating that race is a reality, when in actual reality, race has no significance whatever.
And it's not our fault. It's really not. None of us wrote, directed, or star in the movie. But we're all watching it. And unfortunately only some of us have the ability to turn around and find the switch, on the projector, and flip it off. That's what needs to happen. We need to show so called white guys the switch and get them to flip the movie off. Again, as outlined above.
Objection 4: Manipulating People Into Marriage is Just Wrong
More wrong than racism? I would hope not. I would hope that the chance to make progress, at very little cost, on what has seemed to be a very difficult problem, would be attractive. I mean, we don't need a whole new bureaucracy, or a government program to do this, we don't have to split the country up into pieces, no one has to suffer or die... although there are some mostly so called white people (not many) who will flat upchuck in their Wheaties when they hear the plan. That is an emotional reaction. They'll get over it.
Secondly, what we're doing right now is manipulating people OUT of interracial marriages. Subconsciously, of course, and you only see it when you look at the bulk statistics - but it is manipulation nonetheless. If manipulation is wrong, well, we're wrong right now. I don't think that's going to change. Manipulation - in marriages and out of them - is something societies do. Something people do.
Thirdly, when people object to manipulating people into marriage, they're generally speaking of individual manipulations toward specific marriages. This plan is the opposite of trying to limit people's choices. This plan is an attempt to expand the range of people from which so called white guys can and will select marriage partners. Not so good for the so called white women who have benefited from that reduced gene pool - but they will have an expanded gene pool of their own to draw from, which ought to make up for it.
Objection 5: It's Social Engineering
I would say that every time we pass a law we do social engineering. You can't stop people committing murder - but you can try to make it costly to do so. That's social engineering. And again, which is worse: social engineering, or racism? I would hope racism.
Objection 6: It's Genocide
This is kind of the "it's racist, to destroy white people" argument in reverse: this argument is that flooding the so called black population with so called white genes will destroy the black population. To me this is racism. The argument's basis, I think, is the idea that each so called race has some mystical essence that must not be destroyed. That seems to me to be a racist argument. There is no pure-blooded anything. Every time you have sex you mix blood. Get over it.
Objection 7: You Want Everyone to Have Indiscriminate Sex
Someone posted a clip from the movie Bulworth, in which some wacko said the answer to racism was for everyone to just fuck everyone else indiscriminately. No, no, no, and no. In fact: no. This is not a plan to raise the rate of indiscriminate sex. This is a plan to raise the marriage rate. Focus, people! lol
Objection 8: Interracial Marriage is On the Rise Anyway
This is the kind of argument you get from people who read and value Pew Research articles. Their point is that if it's all getting better and better anyway, why not just watch TV? But Pew Research researchers seem to think anti-Hispanic prejudice is racism, anti-Asian prejudice is racism, and anti-anything prejudice is racism. Thus they define Asians and white Hispanics and god knows how many others as separate races, and draw their weird conclusions pretty much at random. But that marriage barrier is a big deal. Without a marriage barrier, it's not racism. And I've seen no evidence that Pew Research researchers have even realized this, much less that they care. (My sense is that Pew Research exists primarily to find evidence to support Democratic talking points, but who knows.) Of course if you conflate people for whom there is a marriage barrier with people for whom there isn't, your results are going to be meaningless. That is what Pew Research has done, and I recommend you stay away from their stuff.
Objection 9: It Will Destroy the Democratic Party as We Know It
This is a little harder to answer, because I think it's true. As soon as it becomes clear that our country is actually on track to eliminate racism, millions of so called black voters will suddenly discover that conservatism isn't really such a dumb idea after all, and they will vacate the Democratic Party. There will be very little left, when they go. Not all will mourn.
Objection 10: It Will Destroy the Black Community
This too is a hard objection to answer. Once we're all so called black, what will be left of the so called black community? How will they recognize one another? They won't. We'll be them. It will be a big change. Toni Morrison's book Sula seems to indicate that there are so called black people who won't shed too many tears, at this prospect, and so I hope it won't be too wrenching for them. I hope that eliminating that marriage barrier will be a fair payment for whatever they lose, in terms of community.
Objection 11: How Dare We?
How dare we make such changes to the so called black community, without getting their consent first? My answer is, this whole country has been working on the problem of racism for a long enough time that I think we all agree it's time we actually did something about it. Getting the consent of the so called black community would require establishing a national so called black congress, for that purpose, and even then that congress would have only as much legitimacy as our current Federal Congress does, which is to say, not much at all. I for one am not prepared to put in that kind of energy and effort on it for so little return. If they want to riot to prevent the elimination of racism, that'd be something new. That'd be a sight worth seeing. I think if they want to stop it bad enough, they'll find a way to make their voices heard.
Objection 12: It's Unnecessary
This objection goes as follows. We've dramatically lowered the probability of having a race riot. We don't hang grandma from a tree anymore. We've halfway integrated the schools. We've elected a black president. What the heck else can we do? We've made a LOT of PROGRESS. There's no need.
And I really covered this up above. My answer is, we've made a lot of progress against the APPEARANCE of racism. The thing itself, not so much. If that marriage rate had been steadily declining, and was at 30% or 50% of its colorblind ratio, I couldn't plausibly make this argument. That would be real progress against real racism. But it's not declining. (Well it is, but so slowly that it will take over 15,000 years to get to colorblind... if nothing else happens in the meantime. Ha. Ha.) It is TWO ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE away from colorblind. People that work with numbers know, you can't wave off that kind of discrepancy with creative hallucinations about cultural and economic differences. And as I've said before, it's that marriage barrier that is the real heart of racism. That's what we need to make progress against. Anything else is just sound and wind.

2023.06.10 00:23 Zen-Paladin Do any of you have ADHD? How do you function in dispatchers with it?
Not a dispatcher, but EMT(currently doing special events part time). I had tried 911 3 times but each time didn't pass FTO and was let go. Before the third I did IFT for almost a year and did fine, left voluntarily. I was about to call it quits with emergency services in general(wanted to be a cop long term) but awhile back I had talked to a childhood acquaintance who has ADHD, and ''developmental academic disorder'' was in my ongoing conditions list. I sought an assessment and answered as honestly as I could to questions about work/school performance and general. I hit 9/9 for inattentive symptoms and 5/9 for hyperactive/impulsive symptoms for a diagnosis of moderate ADHD, combined presentation .
This was in February, and now I have been on meds and they have helped. I started therapy too and been working on self management skills because I know meds are not the end all be all in and of themselves(though they have definitely helped with focus, feeling overwhelmed and even sleep or impulsive eating). My disability might not be my fault but it's also my responsibility to make effort to overcome it. I know alot of people in emergency services do have ADHD apparently, and from what I have read and been told experiences vary. Some people get through it initially but without meds/therapy it can start to be an uphill battle and greater risk for burn out. On the other hand there are those who are undiagnosed or do fine without meds. That has led a couple people to suggest it isn't my ADHD but I am just not cut out for the job since they have ADHD about as bad as mine.
I will note that I was never bothered by blood, CPR, bodily waste, etc. The reasons I failed according to my FTOs came down to failing to memorize protocols/geography, or being too slow/needing prompting or moving too quickly at times. I tried to study protocols off duty, but procrastinated or when I did sit down to read(with no distractions) my brain still got mind fog or was racing making it hard to absorb the info as much. I felt flustered at times but really only when I didn't remember things. For it was the same for EMT school(granted we had video lectures due to COVID and skills in person) and the national text took me 3 tries spread over 4 months.
I didn't seek a diagnosis solely because of the EMT thing, or to just throw my hands up in the air and be a victim. I genuinely wanted to get better and stop spinning my wheels in the mud. I was struggling on every front in life outside of the job. I know I can do it if I just know my stuff and keep a clear head, but having a diagnosis make it easier to know why I am struggling and how to improve.
And from my assessment notes, medical records and talking to my psychiatrist the same issues was present in all areas of my life. I am starting over college from scratch at nearly 23(barely graduated HS) while my friend with mild inattentive ADHD finished last year and was an honor student in school. Even in martial arts or when doing creative writing I forgot things nearly immediately or my mind wandered. Forgetting wallet/phone/keys and piled up laundry For the first time in my life I feel I can truly turn these things around.
Anyway, do any of you guys have ADHD and if so how do you cope with it in dispatch/life? Were you diagnosed young/in adulthood?

I have a 2013 Ford Expedition EL 4 X 4. I don't seriously offroad it but I do use it for hunting and often wonder how capable the 4WD really is. I tried searching the web on information about the differentials this truck comes with but can't find any definite answers. Is it a limited slip diff or some sort of electronic brake assisted diff? Anyone know?

2023.06.09 23:40 lekkanaai Feeling frustrated
This is a bit of a rant and letting off steam. I get that my reaction and feelings around this indicate that I haven’t been able to move past my belief in the lack of rather than the wish fulfilled. It’s small in comparison to the other desires I have had, but it’s really gotten under my skin. The other day the dishwasher stopped working. I had fixed it before but after hours of work it ended up with another fault. I have tried the focus on the feeling and scenario around the wish being fulfilled, and the next 2 days 2 even better models came up on a free cycle group I follow, except that both times I saw the postings too late. I spent more money on getting a repair man to check the dishwasher, and he found and fixed a fault in a few minutes. The only trouble with that approach was that a few hours later the dishwasher developed a leak and flooded the whole kitchen. I am feeling extremely irritable and frustrated right now and the events have played out like the universe is taunting me by putting my desire juuust out of reach. Ok rant over. If I manage to get over this hurdle and end up with a new dishwasher I’ll post a new success story. It’s my own way of building on my LOA beliefs and growth, after all I can live with or without it and it’s not something I feel like a huge urgency or need to fulfill as a primary focus.

Hello Guardians, my name is
u/PandaPaxxy. Today I am here to go over my process for evaluating weapons. From hand cannons to glaives I will go over what I look for in weapons and why. A lot of the time it will fall into “Reload gun and get damage.” But in terms of other stats to look for, why I choose certain perks sometimes and other perks other times. My guides serve to educate Guardians on weapons for the season. I work hard to test and find out what works on weapons so you can dedicate your time to playing with them instead of testing them for yourself.
Ultimately my guides and wishlists are a jumping off point. They serve as a great baseline but are neither gospel, nor all-encompassing. I build them to get you to a point where you can look at perk pools and decide for yourself what you want on your weapons.
Exotic armor builds are always a great place to start, see what exotic you gravitate towards and build your weapons around that. Do you like mowing through enemies? Well then Subsistence might be your best friend. Do you like punching things? Pugilist, Swashbuckler, One-Two Punch, and Trench Barrel just became your best friends. Depending on your build and what you use can drastically change perk recommendations one way or the other. Building into a specific play style with your weapons can not only get you to a point where clearing activities is easier, but it can also create your own identity within Destiny. Two players using the same subclass and exotic can choose very different weapons to pair with it and have very different play styles. My recommendations are purely that. Recommendations.
This guide not only serves as what I recommend on weapons but also a peek behind the curtain into my brain. To set you off right, I
LOVE high handling weapons, if I could have Ophidians or Dragon’s Shadow on my Titan, I might never take them off. Any way I can bump up handling on my weapons is always going to be my forefront choice, that’s why a lot of the time I recommend Fluted Barrel, Fastdraw HCS, or QuickDot SAS. The faster the animation the better.
With all that being said, let me get into the meat and potatoes of this breakdown of my breakdowns.
Primary Ammo
Auto Rifles:
Auto rifles need some stability and a good recoil direction to make them work. Any base recoil direction less than 70 needs Arrowhead Brake, and even above that it might be necessary. It depends also on what magazine perks the auto rifle gets. Ricochet Rounds is the best as it marginally increases range while heavily increasing stability. Steady Rounds almost never gets recommended as it lowers the next best stat being range.
In terms of perks a lot of the time it will either be consistency for PvP or damage + reload perks for PvE. Reload perks come in all forms; Surplus, Threat Detector, Outlaw, and Overflow are easy choices. Ambitious Assassin and even Envious Assassin are also great choices depending on how you use this auto. They pseudo-bypass reload by giving you a bigger base mag each time the perk activates. They fall under Overflow because with Overflow you will never see your reload animation but get all the benefits.
In terms of damage perks all of them work perfectly. Golden Tricorn is the best overall and will be for most weapons as it has the highest damage increase and stacks with surge mods. As long as you keep the same element you will be golden.
For PvP there are few choices. Consistency perks like Tap the Trigger, Dynamic Sway Reduction, Zen Moment, and even Threat Detector are fantastic for keeping bullets on target. Autos need your full dedication to the engagement to kill and keeping your bullets on their head is the only way to succeed. There are “Win More” perks like Kill Clip that allow you to slay past that first engagement, but most autos I recommend will have full consistency unless there isn’t a consistency perk in the stereotypical “damage” column.
Combat Bows:
Bows were a fantastic addition to the game and provide a nice balance between scouts and snipers. Harder hitting than a scout but less damage than a sniper. Primary ammo over a sniper, but less damage per second (or shots per second) than a scout. Very cool choice. Most of the time I will recommend dropping draw time as low as possible and bringing up accuracy after the fact. This will make the damage per second go up a bit as you can fire more shots and keep your “range” and feeling sticky the further away the enemies are.
There aren’t a wide variety of perks to choose from on bows. Crowd control perks and reload perks are the only things. There are a few choice perks for builds specifically. Wellspring, Demolitionist, and Pugilist are great for specific builds or general ability uptime. However, I will, more often than not, recommend Archer’s Tempo or Rapid Hit over them. Bringing up the base reload speed and draw time means you won’t have to invest as heavily into dropping draw time, though the two do help together.
In the final column going with your damage perks or crowd control perks are the best. Headstone, Dragonfly, Explosive Head, or Frenzy. All of them work to clear rooms faster. This comes mostly down to player preference and what build you will ultimately use.
Bows in PvP have two main play styles, swap (blinting) or laning. With either Opening Shot is the best in slot whenever it is available. It allows you to almost always get a crit which will be helpful in either play style. With the swap builds you could also opt for Explosive Head for some added flinch, but you definitely want Quickdraw or Moving Target for added Flexibility. For a more laning approach I would always recommend Rapid Hit for a faster draw time after you get that first crit with Opening Shot.
Hand Cannons:
Well these are certainly my favorite weapons in the game. They really don’t feel good in higher end PvE. Shame. For the most part I look for a decent mix of stability, range, and handling. In that order. If the weapon has decent stats for each of those that aren’t way out of band I usually default to handling. Range does help in PvE but it can be mitigated through Explosive Payload or Timed Payload. You also can pseudo-break range with higher damage. Hand cannons experience a hard damage drop off, so investing into range isn’t a terrible choice either.
For the first column usually a reload perk resides here. Ensemble, Outlaw, Rapid Hit, Surplus, etc. Almost all hand cannons follow in the footsteps of Midnight Coup for PvE. Outlaw and Rampage was a beast in year 1, and while it still works in year 5 it isn’t as versatile. Headstone has replaced most damage perks for me, though there are some good alternatives like Frenzy and Thresh.
In PvP there are only really a few choice perks to look for. Even after the Rangefinder nerf it will still be a very sought after perk. Eye of the Storm is S tier on everything it rolls on, so are Opening Shot and Rapid Hit. Snapshot, Zen Moment, and Moving Target are great supplemental perks. Explosive Payload and Timed Payload might become more sought after if you want to consistently win your 1v1s.
Pulse Rifles:
The most important stat on pulse rifles is the recoil direction. Anything less than 100 should be dismantled immediately. That makes Arrowhead Brake almost a requirement on all pulses. Depending on the pulse and more specifically its archetype will determine what magazine perk is best. If the magazine is less than 30 I would usually go for Appended Mag or Tactical Mag. If the pulse has low reload I will often recommend Flared Magwell as an alternative or best in slot. It also bumps up the stability which definitely helps with a good recoil direction.
Almost all perks within the reload and damage column work here and will be great to maximize your pulses utility. Golden Tricorn is best when applicable. But I have been enjoying Void with Repulsor Brace for a small overshield in the legendary campaign. Being able to keep up a small overshield almost all the time is incredibly helpful in all activities you feel squishy in.
In PvP most of the above applies that recoil direction and stability are important. Range isn’t as important depending on the archetype You might even be able to go for Steady Rounds if you wanted more stability and aren’t utilizing all the range pulses get. I would recommend anything that helps you secure bursts on target, Moving Target, Heating Up, Rapid Hit all come to mind as they each help your burst patterns. Firmly Planted is an incredible shout out too if you slide into engagements or hold lanes instead. Lots of consistency perks. There are a few archetypes that are able to two-burst with a little help from damage, or that damage makes the bursts you need to kill more forgiving. Each of those are great ways to utilize damage perks; not all the time are they necessary in PvP.
Scout Rifles:
Scout rifles are most people’s first weapon type. They help you stay safe and far back while still doing respectable damage. I know I used them, and they still hold up in higher tiered content. High recoil direction is important but not necessary. None of the stats really do a lot on scouts until you get down into the faster firing scouts in which case you’ll want stability to keep shots on target. I always look for consistency perks over damage perks because the rise and fall of damage really shifts gameplay in higher level content. In GMs you’re not always running around with max stacks of damage so something neutral like Explosive Payload will pull way more weight.
In PvP scouts fall into a weird hot and cold. They are either the top of the meta or bottom. Scouts cater to a passive play style so depending on how games go they are either the best thing or you’ll get rolled for being too passive. Damage perks are great for streaks, and consistency perks are plenty. Depending on the archetype I might opt for one damage perk over another to push down the TtK but overall I tend to mix both damage and reliability perks.
Sidearms:
Sidearms are super interesting. Outside of exotic sidearms you don’t see too many people using them aside from niche builds or players looking at a shiny new toy. Range is what makes sidearms even remotely useful in this sandbox as you don’t want to use a sidearm that literally any other weapon could do the same job. Swords could even be better than sidearms sometimes. Pushing out the range as far as it can go, and pumping the sidearm full of damage will give you some great results but will be very hard to take into higher level content. Rat Pack go back in your dens, that is not a sidearm.
In PvP sidearms live and die by their range. Similar to PvE they need to compete outside of melee range. Shotguns will eat them up and fusions will turn them into space air. I find that the best sidearm users make effective use of their space and by manipulating sight lines. If you can control a small space effectively you can use sidearms, otherwise any other primary weapon might be better.
Submachine Guns:
Submachine guns in PvE are great weapons for being aggressive and spraying down enemies. While auto rifles do this job excellently, submachine guns are just smaller and faster versions. They make you feel agile running and gunning while doing great dps but less good sustained damage. They might be great against rank-and-file enemies but won’t scale up with their low magazine, high RPM, and medium damage. In order to make these weapons strong you will want to look for a way to circumvent the reload entirely or speed it up so it feels non-existent. That way you’ll be able to output incredible damage while still being able to weave in and out of cover.
In PvP SMGs will always have a place. They exist as shotgun deterrents and act as breaching tools. They can spray down targets faster than auto rifles while keeping your mobility up. Technically no weapon lowers your native speed, but SMGs with their high RPM allow you to hit your TtK fast in a way that auto rifles cannot. With damage perks they can really reach into auto rifle range, but those few are usually outliers. SMGs exist alongside hand cannons for fast paced, aggressive game play
Special Ammo
Fusion Rifles:
Fusions in PvE are either hit or miss. The charge time is a weird mechanic to get behind at first, and can cause some frustration compared to other special weapons. I always try to maximize the recoil direction to land all my bolts, and then try to stack damage after the fact. There are few perks I look for in order to really create a PvE fusion. Other things to look for are magazine replenishing perks. Subsistence, or Reconstruction. In terms of magazine I either opt for Accelerated Coils for more damage per second, or a larger mag. Oftentimes the extra damage per bolt from Liquid Coils is beaten by Accelerated Coils shooting a whole other burst.
Fusions in PvP are all about consistency. Sure you can find a few rolls that offer kill chaining potential. The biggest threat that came from the fusion community was the Xur Main Ingredient that offered only consistency perks. Under Pressure adds aim assist and stability. Tap the Trigger works on every burst. Firmly Planted works in a slide and pairs well with Kickstart. Rangefinder bumps out the stability and pushes out the zoom for deep one-bursts.
Glaives:
Glaives are interesting, they take out your charged melee, and offer both protection and a fusion rifle-lite experience. The damage protection and resistance is perfect for higher level content, but pushing out the range means your shot is more likely to connect. Depending on the roll you might want to bump one or the other. Impulse Amplifier is the real kicker so that will help with range and projectile speed, so bringing up their shield duration will keep you alive.
In PvP I don’t feel personally well equipped to speak upon. Every time I try to use them myself I get absolutely bodied. There are some quirky builds like a one-shot glaive or blinting with them, but I cannot use them to save my life and try to remain as neutral as possible when giving roll recommendations. I can see how to use them, my body just doesn’t input the right Konami code to win in PvP.
Grenade Launchers:
Grenade Launchers are great for chip damage and setting up for other weapons. Disruption Break is legendary tier on grenade launchers and I always look for it to boost not only your weapon damage but your teams. Debuffing an enemy so that all kinetic damage deals an additional 50% damage is incredible. I always try to maximize blast radius and velocity at the same time. Reload and handling are also incredibly useful as you will be swapping weapons often or reloading your single shot to become a double shot when applicable.
Grenade Launchers in PvP are as good as the other weapon attached to them. They live and die by how good their pairings are. Fighting Lion is the best as it can pair with anything and make things work. Special grenade launchers have a harder time because of the ammo economy. You’re almost always stuck with a primary ammo weapon and only sometimes is that a good thing. It can set up sweeps and kill chaining, but it can also mean your GL shot bounces thirteen times and blows up in your face and not theirs.
Shotguns:
Shotguns are the leading example of a DPS weapon. They shoot things good dead quick. They do high damage at the cost of range. Even the rapid-fire frames have great damage because they shoot so fast. Anything to boost that damage is worthwhile. Surrounded, Trench Barrel, and my favorite One-Two Punch. You are close enough to melee so throwing one or two in there will enhance your shotgun, or your melee. Kinda cool right? I also love seeing things like Grave Robber and Auto-Loading Holster on shotguns as they are one of the few weapons that reload each bullet one at a time. This can be both great and awful at the same time.
In PvP right now we are at a weird divide. You want to bump up your handling as high as you can, and bump up your range as high as you can. Preferably in that order. Things that enhance your animation speed or your handling are greatly preferred. Surplus is great if you keep your abilities but the gold standard right now is Threat Detector. This applies an animation scalar based on the number of enemies around you. Even at 1x it is incredibly strong and hopefully you won’t find yourself where 2x is active because you might be dead.
Sniper Rifles:
Sniper rifles serve one of two purposes. Add clear or DPS weapon. There is no inbetween. There are a handful of snipers that can bridge both but typically don’t particularly excel at either. A jack of all trades, master of none. DPS snipers are hallmarked by some sort of damage bonus natively like Firing Line, High-Impact Reserves, or Focused Fury. Alongside a magazine enhancing perk like Fourth Time’s the Charm, Triple Tap, Rewind Rounds, or Reconstruction. Anything to limit reloading by shooting. Add clear weapons have perks that are great at AoE such as Incandescent, Firefly, or Voltshot.
Snipers are not as meta in PvP but are the strongest weapon in the game. A one-shot from any range at any time without a charge up. They can be used as a shotgun, a follow up, an opening kill, set up, and many more things. They are great at doing high damage from anywhere, and most Destiny maps are not made to see sniper’s damage drop off they will maintain that high damage throughout the map. Snapshot is a must have for some users, other users like high handling. Opening shot is incredible for adding range and aim assist for some bullet bending capabilities.
Trace Rifles:
Trace rifles are beefed up auto rifles. Anything auto rifles can do, traces do better at the cost of special ammo. Without it, you’ll feel like you’re missing a weapon entirely, but with it you’ll wonder why autos and SMGs exist.
In PvP there is a similar handicap where you live and die by the special ammo you do or don’t have.
Heavy Ammo
Grenade Launchers:
Grenade launchers in your heavy slot are primarily used for damaging bosses but have small niches where they can be used for add clear. They don’t have the best damage but they make up for it in continuous damage. Being able to fire repeatedly and quickly for high burst damage makes them good for short damage phases and champions.
In PvP think of a rocket launcher, now cut it in half. That’s what you want in a heavy grenade launcher. A quick firing easy kill that you can run around with.
Linear Fusion Rifles:
Very few times are you using a linear fusion rifle on a red bar enemy, and far less often are you using it to clear rooms. Linear fusion rifles excel in high damage per shot and as such you want to make it easy to hit crits for getting the most per shot. Arrowhead Brake or Fluted Barrel will make it easier to swap to this weapon when it is time for damage, while specifically the former will be best for lining up shot after shot. I prefer faster firing fusions too so Accelerated Coils and a charge time MW would be best DPS. You do lose some impact but you will be able to make up for that loss in impact in more shots fired.
In terms of first trait you’ll want either Field Prep or Triple Tap / Fourth Time’s the Charm. While the latter doesn’t roll on any linear fusion, yet, it will still be a great perk to look out for.
Linear fusions in PvP should have the fastest charge you can obtain while giving you the highest range possible. The idea is to have less of a fusion rifle and more of a sniper with a charge time.
Machine Guns:
Machine guns are the kings at clearing rooms. Either through AoE perks like Dragonfly or Incandescent or through pure damage like Rampage, or Killing Tally. I like perks that either keep the ammo in the magazine or make it so I never have to reload my machine gun. Auto-Loading Holster is perfect, but Subsistence and Reconstruction are fantastic too. Mag boosting perks like Appended Mag and Extended Mag also keep my shooting going.
In PvP Machine Guns are pretty niche. They used to be incredibly strong and they still are but the time to kill has gone down with more grenade launchers and it's been getting harder to hit enemies with abilities that cause them to zoom around the map or change directions on a dime. Consistency perks are the name of the game as I don’t think kill chaining will be as strong anymore.
Rocket Launchers:
Rockets are both the Gold Standard for damage as well as the bar. If you can beat rockets in terms of DPS either for an encounter or boss, you’re on a good track. These weapons do insane single shot damage only lessened by the fact they cannot do precision damage. If a special weapon beats out a rocket for damage, we are in for a wild meta. Rockets need two things in order to succeed. A damage boosting perk and a reload perk. Which feels like I am saying this often. The downfall of rocket launchers is the fact you cannot shoot more than three at a time and even that is under specific use cases. Rockets would be incredibly strong if you could still stack multiple rockets into one tube to keep firing.
In PvP Rockets will obliterate almost anything so your goal is to get splash kills either via Chain Reaction or Cluster Bomb for multikills, they are often fire-and-forget weapons that don’t need a lot to succeed. Just fire in the general direction of an enemy and hope it kills.
Swords:
For the most part these weapons are the easiest to choose, you will want high Impact, decent guard depending on what the weapon tries to enforce. A shorter Charge Rate is better for damage, and a better Guard Resistance is better for add clearing or general use. If you have a zoom sword with Valiant Charge you will want decent Guard Resistance to stop damage from coming through. On a different zoom sword with Eager Edge you will want high ammo capacity for as many zooms as possible.

Chattering Bone is showing its best footing yet. From a niche but underwhelming raid weapon to arguably the best in its archetype. Arrowhead Brake will bring up that low recoil direction, and Rapid Hit will bring up the low stability and reload speed. Kinetic Tremors is what brings up Chattering Bone’s utility. You could opt for sheer damage through Kill Clip and Focused Fury but I don’t know if the two of those perks would work together. It might be a case of the curated where you have damage that starts at the top half and once that goes away you have damage by the bottom half.
In PvP Rangefinder pushes this pulse out to compete with some of the higher damage archetypes with more base range. Headseeker gives you forgiveness with each burst. You could opt for some really juicy stats with Elemental Capacitor, I wouldn’t recommend Arc with the high base handling, but Void or Stasis could work really well.

The Supremacy is one of the most stacked snipers to reach our feeble hands. Fourth Time’s the Charm and Rewind Rounds coupled together gives you an unbelievable amount of ammo. Rapid Hit and Bait and Switch could be fun for maximum damage in a short period of time, and Kinetic Tremors with Lead from Gold could be a long distance add clear weapon.
In PvP The Supremacy could be the strongest 140 we currently have. You can achieve an incredibly high 92 handling with both Opening Shot and Snapshot Sights. Only Mercurial Overreach can get that high. You can also hit 100 with Elemental Capacitor, but you would have to switch out some other perks to invest into range.

Transfiguration is a really solid scout mixed in with other really good scouts. Unfortunately, other scouts with similar rolls are already in most players' hands so there’s less of a reason to grind for this. Rapid Hit and Kinetic Tremors already exists on Hung Jury and most players like the precision archetype better than the high-impact archetype. Explosive Payload is a tried and true perk combo that works here too. The enhanced versions of Rapid Hit and Explosive Payload don’t add a ton to the weapon.
In PvP there aren’t a ton of reasons to use a high-impact scout. Jade Rabbit and Polaris Lance were dominant but not as strong any more. The rise and fall of scouts are typically accompanied by a slower game, pulses and SMGs are dominant right now because you’re either playing passively or aggressively, there aren’t too many middle avenues. Scouts cater to the former but on a higher end. If you do want to try this scout out in PvP you will need more than just Explosive Payload and some prayers.

I am excited for this auto to pair with a void build using both Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds for a self buff and add clear. Golden Tricorn pairs well if you get Volatile from your subclass or just want a stronger weapon. Dragonfly in the third column will get beefed up with Golden Tricorn so I can see some utility outside of direct void explosions that could be usable all the way up to GM levels.
In PvP there are simply better options right now. Unlocking the patterns and getting them ready in the event of a buff would be wise, but quick killing weapons with good forgiveness coupled with Target Lock are the name of the game. Age-Old Bond kills quickly but does not have much in terms of forgiveness. Target Lock drops your 6 crit requirement down to 5 crit 1 body, not changing the time to kill, but making it ever so slightly more forgiving. With a bigger buff like Kill Clip you drop an entire shot needed to 4 crit 1 body. Not the most meta option.

Oh how things have changed. Nation of Beasts used to be the Fakebringer of Destiny 2 giving us Outlaw and Dragonfly all wrapped into one small curated package. Now that Fatebringer is truly in the game and other weapons have been granted Outlaw and Dragonfly (or even Firefly) what sets Nation of Beasts apart? Well, not a lot. It does have access to two very strong AoE perks in Voltshot and Dragonfly, and can increase its damage through Golden Tricorn. Discord pulls ammo from thin air and can help when in lower activities to bypass reloading.
There aren’t a lot of hand cannons that see top tier usage in PvP. Opening Shot, Keep Away, and Perpetual Motion in one column, and Explosive Payload and Kill Clip in the other make for a stacked package. Add in enhanced perks and you have a recipe for a super solid hand cannon. Eye of the Storm or Fragile Focus would round out the mix for best perks on a hand cannon, but overall it’s a solid choice. Hard to say if this is stronger than Palindrome and Exalted Truth, but it certainly holds its own. You’ll have to fight some of the weird gun model though.

Techeun Force is looking to be the best fusion rifle in the game. I don’t say that often but given all the goodies of double damage perks, craftability, and great stats you can really have it your way. Rewind Rounds coupled with Collective Action for subclass agnostic buffs, Controlled Burst for laying down enemies or Golden Tricorn when on Arc will feel incredibly strong. Reconstruction is a tried and true gem of a perk, only beaten by my obsession with Overflow. Kill Clip can stack with all of these creating over 100% damage increases with Kill Clip, Golden Tricorn 2x, 3 Surge Mods, and Major Spec. If you set things up right you can almost have a 150% damage increase. Simply put it is the best fusion in the game for damage and has greater utility beyond that.
In PvP you could also recommend Techeun Force as the best fusion in the game and I will. Arrowhead Brake with a CB mod brings the recoil to 100, so you can invest the rest of the fusion into range via Projection Fuse and Rangefinder. If you value kill chaining you could go for Reconstruction and Controlled Burst for never reloading and getting that 20% damage increase. Another niche use case would be Kill Clip and Kickstart for a nice 4 bolt kill, you’d have to be sprinting immediately after reloading but the enhanced version extending Kill Clip’s timer will help you out.

Tyranny of Heaven used to be the only solar bow in the game, and its sights are really odd. In its current version you can certainly get some good mileage out of the updated perks, only if you can agree with the wonky sights. Archer’s Tempo will get you the best reload / knock time, and Golden Tricorn is simply the best damage perk in the game. On solar that job gets even easier with the plethora of amazing abilities. Collective action will have slightly less uptime but could still be considered one of the better perks. Incandescent does give you some great AoE but I find that not bumping up the bow’s innate damage might feel a bit lackluster in higher end activities.
In PvP please just don’t use bows. The only way to one shot a guardian in PvP is by stacking 3 surge mods with Swashbuckler, or getting Golden Tricorn 2x going. While it is possible, and arguably sustainable within PvP it is incredibly niche. You can go a tried and true route with Snapshot Sights and any of the good third column perks but I would just use a precision frame instead.

Apex Predator is the best rocket launcher in the game. With enhanced Reconstruction you can almost always have a rocket ready to fire at any given time. With Explosive Light you get incredible amounts of damage and orbs are easy to make now. Bait and Switch is another great damage perk and does more damage, but I find Explosive Light easier to work with, especially with the new mod system revolving around orbs of power. Simple answer is, use Explosive Light if you’re lazy, if you’re trying to min-max use Bait and Switch.

Last Rite is very much a solid Ritual Weapon. It doesn’t exist as an incredibly strong scout, but it does come with a solid set of perks. Reconstruction and Focused Fury do allow you to use a legendary 120 RPM scout rifle in PvE without it being Dead Man’s Tale. I cannot think of many situations where that’s necessary, nor really a need to use a 120 RPM scout. This does break up the need for an exotic as both Long Arm and Last Rite are legendary and therefore allow some loadout variation. However, the lack of specific perks like Rapid Hit, Explosive Payload, Kill Clip, or even Kinetic Tremors would bump this scout way up into usage. It’s certainly one of the scouts of all time.
Last Rite does not fare any better in PvP. Dead Man’s Tale is the best 120 RPM scout and has hip firing capabilities. All other legendary 120s feel
fine while hip firing but feel night and day different comparatively. Keep Away feels like a throw away perk because scouts barely need any range. Rapid Hit would bump Last Rite up for me, but Reconstruction could work. I would not use this for hip firing but as a classic scout I wouldn’t be upset with a teammate using this.

Randy’s Throwing Knife is back! My favorite little scout-auto love child. This time with random rolls!!! I do enjoy seeing older ritual / pinnacle weapons refreshed with more options, especially post sunsetting. It does feel good grinding them out again. Randy’s Throwing Knife was the best rapid-fire scout for its time but unfortunately fell into a time where scouts were just awful to use and did not have a set place outside of MIDA Multi-Tool or a few specific options. Randy’s Throwing Knife with Kinetic Tremors will feel great as it fires fast enough to get the AoE back to back. Cascade Point is really funny to me, seeing a 260 scout bumping the RPM all the way up to 428 via D2Foundry. If this lands for me I don’t even really care about viability, it will just be fun.
Randy’s Throwing Knife did find its slight niche within PvP, hopefully the new version delivers. I think it does and then some. The old version had Rapid Hit and Kill Clip, which you can get again, but with Extended Mag instead of a better mag boosting perk. You also have the option of bumping up the recoil direction making those quick headshots a lot easier. While the old Randy’s Throwing Knife didn’t have a bad roll, getting it again with slightly better options feels good.

The new competitive weapon is a sniper, and while there are a lot of perks to look out for, I don’t think your main priority should be PvE. Snipers dedicated for PvE have ammo refreshing perks and a solid damage perk. Discord is nice, but require constant kills in order to keep up their utility. Snipers for damage don’t usually get constant flows of kills, and snipers for add clear (if you’re one of those odd balls, like me) need a better AoE damage perk. Mercurial Overreach is a PvP sniper.
In PvP you’ll find a lot of Guardians opting for the tried and true Snapshot Sights and Opening Shot Combo. With the right investments (aka all handling) you can have the most coveted sniper perks alongside 92 handling. Almost making this the fastest sniper in the game, but certainly one with both Snapshot Sights and Opening Shot at the same time. The Supremacy can also reach 92, but that’s on a rapid-fire frame. Defiance of Yasmin (Harrowed) can reach 82 but that is with adept mods. Silicon Neuroma (Adept) is the highest aggressive frame at 59. On an adaptive sniper, this is the highest handling you can get without using things like Dragon’s Shadow, Ophidians, or even Slickdraw.

Positive Outlook was one of my favorite guns from Year 1. I still have mine in my vault with 4,600 kills on it. Nothing better than old reliable Kill Clip from Curse of Osiris. This new version gives us access to Golden Tricorn, Destabilizing Rounds, and even Repulsor Brace making it a really great void option for anyone drawn to the void. Ambitious Assassin isn’t a replacement for reload, but it does help make reloads feel a bit further away instead of making them faster.
In PvP I cannot reliably see a way to make Positive Outlook meta. Tap the Trigger and Kill Clip will give you the best footing for multikills and sprees. Eye of the Storm also helps win duels for a more consistent 1v1 experience. Both Zen Moment and Dynamic Sway Reduction could swap in for Tap the Trigger as your consistency perk.

Laser Painter has a fun name as you’re painting the target with a laser. Normally I don’t love Bungie’s names but this one earned a chuckle from me. I wish this was either a new archetype entirely or another aggressive frame. Regular linear fusion rifles just don’t feel as good to me anymore, and the huge perk pool just feels unrewarding now. You can craft Taipan and you’re basically done. Strand is nice for breaking the few shields, but the removal of match game belittles strand damage types for now.
In PvP if you didn’t craft a Taipan, you just missed the mark entirely. Buffed Fragile Focus and Opening Shot for great range and specifically what you want? Instant shards for Laser Painter.

Pressurized Precision is a great choice for a Strand fusion rifle. Discord will regenerate ammo for you as long as you get the kill, which will pair well with High-Impact Reserves or Vorpal for damage. Hatchling does not refund you ammo, but does pair well with Strand subclasses. Use whatever build you’d like.
In PvP I don’t think Pressurized Precision is the best in its class. You can also get away with the Discord shenanigans but with zoom decoupling from Rangefinder soon I wouldn’t rush out to get one. Firmly Planted did receive a nerf a while back and the effects can still be felt, it is not as consistent as it used to be. You can still make it work, but I would look elsewhere for a better fusion.

There aren’t many places I see myself using a grenade launcher in PvE nowadays. Cascade Point is very fun and Full Court will net you some solid damage from afar, but I find myself using rockets over grenade launchers. Maybe for GMs or activities where ammo is a bit more scarce and using a rocket launcher wouldn’t be the best choice. Explosive Light really is carrying my weapons this season.
In PvP you could definitely surprise a few players with an extra rapid rapid-fire frame grenade launcher with Cascade Point, but I find those groupings to be way less common than you think. Otherwise I would just go for Disruption Break to enhance my kinetic weapon.

Controlled Burst feels like a better Backup Plan. With full investments into charge time and Controlled Burst you could voop as fast as an adaptive or even a rapid-fire while maintaining or increasing your damage through surge mods and other means. Auto-Loading Holster is the obvious choice, but Overflow is incredibly strong for keeping up those bursts. Envious Assassin and Demolitionist are also great shouts as well. Reservoir Burst is the tried and true, so keep using that if you like booms. But Controlled Burst feels strong and it’s all about the power fantasy, right?
In PvP Controlled Burst will be great for going on those streaks but we haven’t seen many fusion rifles with Eye of the Storm. Dreambreaker was the first and then came Glacioclasm, but we haven’t seen Eye of the Storm on an adept fusion before. Making this a really strong contender for being the most consistent high-impact fusion in the game. Under Pressure or Firmly Planted paired with Eye of the Storm will give you huge amounts of consistency. Maybe a better 3v3 weapon compared to Controlled Bursts 6v6 focus.

There is nothing more I want this season than BrayTech Osprey with Cluster Bomb and Chain Reaction. Seeing all those explosions, especially at once, will bring a smile across my face. I’d also like to see how it interacts with Lasting Impression. Do the clusters drop on the initial hit or, more likely, once the explosion goes off? There will be some obvious testing to do this season, but I want this rocket launcher for the sheer fun of it. Cluster Bomb might be useful again when coupled with Frenzy or Golden Tricorn’s damage increase.
In PvP my boom-splosion rocket will be the best to get, I do think that the Cluster Bomb getting the kill will result in Chain Reaction going off, it might affect the damage but that will have to be tested a bit more. There is nothing holding back my excitement for so many explosions.

The Messenger returns to us. A once great pulse has returned to take its throne. Move aside No Time to Explain, we don’t have time to explain how good Messenger is. Go away Graviton Lance, no one liked you before your multiple buffs. The king is back to retake the crown. Messenger needs a few things to make it the best roll possible, the first being Arrowhead Brake to bring up the low stability. Rapid Hit is the clear winner in the third column, but Outlaw is great if you don’t want the change in burst pattern depending on what stack of Rapid Hit you have. Kill Clip is an easy damage buff, and Kinetic Tremors is fun for the AoE. Desperado fell off a bit, but I would still use it in PvE if I were looking for a good time.
A very similar situation is present in PvP. Arrowhead Brake and Rapid Hit are the staples to look out for. You can certainly get by without one or the other but the true King has both. Headseeker takes over for Desperado since the adjustment. Securing those blistering two-bursts is a feeling like no other. Headseeker makes those bursts more consistent and frequent.

Truthfully I don’t know how to feel about the new glaive, it might need more time in my hands but it felt bad despite its beefed up stats. Thresh is great for getting super kills on both melee and powered shots. Subsistence for keeping the mag topped off or Feeding Frenzy for just reliable reload. I found the best success with Frenzy, but that’s due to it being a straightforward damage bonus, your mileage may vary. Prove me wrong with this glaive.
In PvP glaive users might find a niche with adept mods being present on the first ever adept glaive. While there are at least 3 of you I might finally encounter a wild glaive in the crucible. If you are set on using glaives in PvP you do not need me to tell you what works and what doesn't.

A Distant Pull is an interesting sniper. Rapid-fire snipers aren’t meta but this one could be incredibly strong to keep within your vault. Collective Action is an incredibly useful buff as it can be applied on any subclass. Headstone gives you some great cover and add control, but I find it far less useful on a sniper. Triple Tap gives you some great utility against majors, bosses, or vehicles where you can continuously crit them. I don’t think this sniper will really shake up the meta, but it does offer some great utility on all classes. Jack of all trades, master of none.
A Distant Pull is not going to be great in the Crucible. You can roll some really high handling, but without Snapshot Sights, some players won’t even look at it, and being a rapid-fire other players won’t even equip it. These snipers are not as dominant as they used to be before their double body nerf and haven’t seen the sun since. Moving Target and Opening Shot will bump up your aim assist to 100 and you can craft this sniper for either 90 range or 90 handling. While it has some amazing stats, the frame and lack of snapshot will just put it under.

Different Times needs Arrowhead Brake to compete even as a pulse rifle. Having the second lowest recoil direction at 52 is underwhelming. Jurassic Green is lower but ends better at 50. With Arrowhead Brake and a CB mod you’ll sit at 97 recoil direction. Subsistence will help you keep shooting at low tier activities, and Outlaw will have a slightly higher utility, but is far worse than Rapid Hit. Collective Action is the flavor of the season, but might catch a small nerf soon. Golden Tricorn is my next favorite perk but falls off with Strand not being able to reliably kill with every single ability. Which puts Multikill Clip as the best damage perk.
In PvP you’ll still have to use Arrowhead Brake and a CB mod to make this even remotely competitive to its competition. Ricochet Rounds gives you a great stability bump and Moving Target or Headseeker are great neutral options. Multikill Clip for some sprees or Adrenaline Junkie if you have some God-nades.

The only problem with this submachine gun is the far too low stability. Rapacious Appetite has literally the lowest stability across all submachine guns in the game at 6. A whopping 6. You’re going to want to bump that up even on MnK. You can drop the stability to zero, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Well-Rounded does give some great stability to bring up Rapacious Appetite’s extremely low stability. One for All is the easiest damage bonus to get as you won’t need to get kills and your low stability will occasionally make crit kills harder, making Headstone less optimal. Frenzy also brings up your damage and reload which really helps out.
In PvP your best bet is Target Lock for the added damage and Encore for more stats. Perpetual Motion and Well-Rounded are also great for boosting stats. I really think you should be bringing up the stability as much as you can while maintaining as much range as possible.

Spare Rations is back, and I am underwhelmed. In order to make this hand cannon work in PvE you’ll want to use Rapid Hit for more stability and more importantly the reload bonus. Kinetic Tremors gives this hand cannon utility in higher tier activities. Vorpal Weapon can be used in lower tier activities against majors but I wouldn’t bring Spare Rations into a GM. Focused Fury will give you some great damage to clear red bars and majors if you wanted to, but Spare Rations just isn’t good enough for higher tiered activities.
In PvP Spare Rations could make itself a small niche. It feels great to handle and has some great sights for solid 3-taps. It will not be able to out-range most of its competitors, but it will be able to comfortably out-handle most of them. Spare Rations beats out Thorn for handling and almost reaches 100 handling naturally.

I am really excited for this shotgun. Cascade Point and your choice of either Overflow or Auto-Loading Holster for Fourth Horseman-lite. You can opt for any of the mag bonuses to hit cap in order to slot in a Major or Boss Spec mod. Other options include Collective Action for a small everything buff, or Vorpal Weapon to stack with your spec mod.
In PvP you’re much better off using a different weapon as rapid-fire frames need two shots to reliably kill from a distance. If you are okay with that, then investing fully into handling and harmony for better damage after a kill would give you the best chance at competing with precision and aggressive frame shotguns.

Bug-Out Bag returns to us. I didn’t love its original form, so let’s see if this is the redemption arc of the century. In PvE you might enjoy a 100 recoil direction, so Arrowhead Brake is the best call. All 900 RPM SMGs are bullet hoses, so I think that increasing the mag size is the best way to go. You could also completely circumvent reload through Subsistence. Another alternative is just bumping up your reload so the downtime between mags is reduced. Flared Magwell coupled with either Threat Detector or Perpetual Motion will bring down your reload speed from 1.86s to either 1.32s with TD2x or 1.47s with PM2x. The easiest damage bonus is Collective Action this season as it neutrally pairs with every subclass. Incandescent works better on Solar builds but can neutrally clear rooms.
Adaptive frame SMGs in PvP are not considered best of their class. Lightweights do the job better and within the same time to kill. Arrowhead Brake will keep the recoil direction vertical and make your shooting experience better. Ricochet Rounds gives a great boost to stability and range, Perpetual Motion will bring up a few more stats. The buff to Fragile Focus has made it an incredibly strong perk, I would look for that first to push the range out to 18.63m with this exact roll. You can get higher range if you prefer to compete more with Shayura’s Wrath or Immortal.

Last Man Standing was an incredibly fun gun back in year 2. I loved the combination of Grave Robber and One-Two Punch to kill everything in Gambit Prime. Discord will be great if you can keep it up by continuously killing things. Swashbuckler will help with scaling up the damage or you can nuke red bars with One-Two Punch. It’s a shame we lost Grave Robber in the update.
In PvP Discord is strong for getting “free” ammo. Your choice of Threat Detector for better handling or Opening Shot for being the strongest perk on a special weapon. There are not a lot of great shotgun perks currently but Discord could allow for some spicy streaks in 6v6 game modes.

Outlast is a great gun with awful stats. Arrowhead Brake is almost mandatory for bringing up the low recoil direction, but you might also want to throw on a CB mod for 100 recoil direction. Flared Magwell would be good for the stat bump and reload speed. Feeding Frenzy is the best for not needing precision hits, but Outlaw is great in the event that you can handle the bounce. Kill Clip is an easy 25%, but you could also opt for solar grenade builds with Demolitionist, or Dragonfly for some better add clear.
In PvP you will still want Arrowhead Brake. Ricochet Rounds is perfect for bringing up the low stability. Rangefinder currently is best in slot and you can couple that with Kill Clip for bonus damage. Competing slightly with Horror’s Least and slightly with Autumn Wind.

Sole Survivor was one of the first snipers to get Firing Line and it proved incredibly strong. Rapid Hit on a boss will keep your reload super quick. Field Prep will bump up your reserves and also increase your reload speed. Outlaw only works on kills so it will be better if you pair it with Voltshot. Focused Fury or Vorpal Weapon are interchangeable because Focused Fury needs hits to start getting high damage, but Vorpal Weapon does less damage but is immediate.
I loved Sole Survivor. My roll has over 800 PvP kills. The reprisal lost Opening Shot which immediately kills this sniper for me. It was introduced with Mercurial Overreach which I think was the PvP sniper Bungie wanted people to grind for, but I am upset I can’t use my old one and the new one doesn’t have the same perk pool. The best roll to get is with high handling and Snapshot. Eye of the Storm is the best in slot here.

Targeted Redaction has a subpar perk pool. You can make this hand cannon work with Outlaw for faster reloads and your choice of fourth column perk. Collective Action gives you great damage without having to spec into any specific subclass. Destabilizing Rounds is fun with stacking void debuffs. Explosive Payload will help mitigate some damage fall off, which helps hand cannons in higher level activities, it also adds some outgoing flinch. I would probably take this perk last as other perks will be better overall, but it does help in PvE.
In Crucible there is a small problem with this hand cannon, Behemoth Titan, and Collective Action. If you use this, you know who you are, you’re going to get Collective Action Nerfed.* I hope it stays a 20% bonus in PvE, but it could be reduced there due to the PvP side. For a more neutral 120, Well-Rounded and Keep Away will bump up your stats and make this hand cannon feel a little less like a truck flailing in the wind when you use it.

I was always a fan of the way this sword looked in PvE. It felt sleek and was the closest my Titan and Warlock got to the Wee-a-boo sword. Jagged Edge and Swordmaster’s Guard will give you the best damage and most often heavy attacks, if you prefer different play styles with swords either using them as your main add clearing weapon through Incandescent or as less of a boss killer you might want to use Burst Guard or Enduring Guard for your build.
In PvP the only perk that truly matters is Tireless Blade for the most sword swings per kill. Valiant Charge is fun and unpredictable but can also set you up for bad positioning. En Garde can set you up for a super kill. Niche but worth knowing.

Thin Precipice is much more of a multi kill weapon, but falls off because it’s a sword. If swords were more utilized in content it could be really fun with Chain Reaction for explosions, or your choice of Golden Tricorn or Collective Action for some really solid damage. You could potentially set up Thin Precipice for huge damage with surge mods and two stacks of Golden Tricorn to melt champions or even bosses. It’s niche and would require more set up than your average boss killing weapon, but it would be crazy to see/
It’s going to be a similar story to Just In Case for PvP. Unfortunately you have to make a choice this time. Either Valiant Charge or Tireless Blade. Personally I think Tireless is the best choice but I know people like harnessing their inner Sanic. Chain Reaction could potentially net you some double kills. Zoom in, get a double or more? I can see the montage now.

2023.06.09 22:40 BrandonCovetto Advice on selling my 1999 Ford Contour SVT, that is now chock full of issues
I'll admit it. I'm not a car guy and I know just enough to be dangerous. Apologies in advance for so many words.
I'm in Minneapolis and 3 years ago took ownership of this 1999 Ford Contour SVT through a good friend because they owed me a favor. It spent most of its life in California and Arizona, and much of that on a military base. It was a no brainer. 90,000 miles, price was right, and a FUN car to drive. (The smiles and thumbs up at stop lights didn't hurt, either) Aside from a few small tears in the seats, and some peeling clear coat on the roof, and various interior issues (an aftermarket stereo was installed sloppily and many dash components don't attach flush like they should) it looked pretty great. Car also came with a subwoofer installed in the trunk.
Almost immediately after purchasing I was rear ended. I wasn't at fault, insurance company totaled it out. Much of the rear fascia was busted but everything was operational. I would later realize the trunk no longer seals properly and water seeps in. Car is mostly garaged and fully functional So I kept driving it. Some time later I was sideswiped by some doofus changing lanes without looking. Insurance found me not at fault again and AGAIN totaled the car out. Big crease along the rear passenger side but managed to miss any important parts (gas cap, door handle, door edge)...so...again I kept driving it. While recently having a local (trusted) garage replace the alternator they found a myriad of issues big and small. Including loose front lower control arms and sway bar links, missing rear sway bar bushings, junk floating in the radiator, and lots of leaks. While deciding on exactly what to do, and waiting for used car prices to come down (spoiler alert...they never did), the front brakes have now gone bad.
SO MY QUESTION IS What can I honestly get for this car? I'm ready to let go of this car, for sure—but how do I price/sell a car with mechanical issues, AND a collision history that may affect the frame? I never noticed and problems beside the trunk leaking, but the body shop post collision was adamant they didn't want to tackle anything. Should I get the brakes done so it rolls at least, and simply divulge the rest to a seller? Should I abandon all repairs and try and sell to someone who can tow who wants to part this car to collectors? (I myself am in no position to part it out) Because of the make and model, the car feels like it still has value—but also seems overwhelmed with issues. Online value calculators are coming in WAY over what I would expect, even with me ticking every box I can regarding repairs.

2023.06.09 22:40 Tevoir Failed driving test for undue hesitation in Farnborough, but unsure of the exact type of road.
Hi, so yesterday I failed my driving test in Farnborough for undue hesitation as a serious fault, as apparently there was no give-way sign on the road, but I still stopped the car causing the car behind me to harshly brake and I’m 50% sure it was a dedicated lane.
Now that I’m thinking of this stupid mistake, I can’t put together where this happened and would like anyone to explain what type of road I failed on (if it was a dedicated lane, or not) so that I don’t make the same mistake in my second driving test.

Before the World Cup, we all had many complaints about Berhalter.
Including -
- Average qualifying performance with some poor results.
- Draw vs El Salvador
- Draw vs Canada at home
- Down 1-0 at half vs Honduras (weird opening lineup) but won thanks to Pepi
- Loss 1-0 vs Panama
- Draw vs Jamacia
- Loss 2-0 vs Canada
- Loss 2-0 vs Costa Rica (Costa Rica sat most of their starters)
Let's not forget 2019 loss in the Gold Cup to Mexico.
Also, poor team choice selection considering our talent, and poor substitution record.
He also was pretty bland tactically, which resulted in games where we'd create nothing with our wingers/midfield (strongest aspects). He focused on pushing our FB high and wide, leaving our center backs on an island. He wouldn't change tactics, which would come back to bite us (see poor performances previously, as well as being out coached vs Holland).
He did have some highlights, including the Nations League win vs Mexico in 2021 as well as the Gold Cup in 2021. We also
did qualify, even if we looked shaky.
I see excuses of "young team", but quite a bit of our players have played high levels of soccer in Europe. This includes competing in the Champions League, Europa League, top of League Tables, and Domestic Football Cups. Most of them have played together in the youth setup as well at high levels (e.g. youth WC).
Ultimately, our talent pushed us over the line, even if the coach was unintentionally bring them down.
It really seems like most people who want him back are those who only have watched recently (starting during the WC), or those dig their heels in even if they see the faults of GGG.
Honestly, if the federation wanted GGG back, he would have been back already. If not, it shows how inept the federation is by waiting, which should also bring into question IF GGG is actually a good coach at the international level.

2023.06.09 22:03 Martexo Are the new Ecoboost engines reliable? (2018 onwards)
I've got my eye on a Ford Focus Titanium 125. It has a 1L Ecoboost engine. (With the newer design)
I've read a few complaints on here about Ecoboost engines failing after not a massive amount of mileage. I also read that this seems to be the case more so with older models around 2015ish.
Does anyone know if the engine problems are applicable to 2018 engines or is it just earlier ones?
