Hi. I'll try to be brief. My girl (23) and I (24M) broke up. Let's say it was kind of a mutual breakup, but because it was due to issues coming from her, maybe we could say she was the dumper. Thing is, we had a loving farewell in person and then via text, with her giving mixed signals as if she wasn't sure. Next day she texts , deleted the massage, then texts asking if we can work on it together. Thinking she was just having last minute doubts and not Genuine desire, I lovingly refused (Does that make me the dumper now?). She then said a bunch of romantic stuff, idealizing me and our relationship like crazy , and saying she trusted the universe would give us another chance when she heals. We wished the best to each other. Next day I noticed she adds a couple very sad and romantic songs to my Playlist, one of then actually with lyrics of fixing and repairing a relationship. I got so confused with her behavior, I foolishly think her intentions of being with me were genuine and I reach out 4 days after the breakup, asking for a meet-up.
She agrees but says that she is emotionally unstable due to our breakup, is having her med school finals and is risky to see me, so that is best she is done with her exams before meeting, however she didn't yet know for sure the dates of her exams, but said that if not done by Friday, for sure by next Tuesday. I tell her to let me know once she finds out and she enthusiastically agrees "We were on each other's minds, must be the stars" she said. I say something like "Definitely! Until then. Wish you the best on your exams". Next day she just replied with a sad/disappointed cat sticker. I got confused but assumed it was not important so I didn't say anything.
Guess what. She never reached out. Before asking her out I saw she liked a post of "Thanks for letting me go as I would have never left". Now that weeks went by, she likes another very different post "I miss you but I won't go back". That says a lot. I can't believe how she went from admitting she was sabotaging our relationship to acting now as if she was the one mistreated. Point is her never reaching out says what's truly in her mind. Knowing her, maybe she took me not replying to a sticker as me ignoring her, which made her mad and got her to change her mind. (She might have bpd but I can't say for sure).
I went from denial, to anger, to sadness... how come tables turned so much? I genuinely thought we both wanted to try again. And seems like she also wanted to, just not that much and changed her mind.
Eventually I felt better, but remembered how I wanted to meet her that time to see how we felt, not necessarily get back. But regardless of the outcome I wanted to give her a book on attachment and relationships, so that it helped her either with our relationship or future ones. I never had the chance to give it to her. It's been like two weeks and I considered mailing her to her house, but I felt like it might come across as an attempt to manipulate her. So I had a dumb idea.
Asking her male gay best friend for help. I told him I didn't want to disturb her process of breakup but that i wanted her to have the book. He said he would help me and insisted he understood my position and would not tell her I talked to him. I felt he genuinely will not, but who knows. He probably knows a lot about her version, and gave me confusing advice, considering he probably knows her whole posture. He told me she's dealing with a lot and is probably just not ready yet for us to get together again, but that i should try to also heal so that if we get together we are both ready (suspicious right?) Next he says, "But its best to just work on yourself and not depend on hoping". Two very different postures
Anyways, what do you guys think? Was this a big mistake? Will he tell her and how bad does that make me look?

I know it sounds hilarious, but sometimes i get overstimulated randomly and just start to have a panick attack, i can't breathe and i'm extremely irritable. UNTIL I put my headphones on and start playing shake it off by taylor swift on a loop, like the lyrics is so reassuring I guess it just calms me LOL.

Let me preface this by saying I work at a grocery store, and have to hear this song every day I work.
I personally don’t enjoy many Queen songs anymore due to how much I’ve heard them, they’ve kinda lost their charm. However, Under Pressure is one I haven’t heard all that much until I started working here.
The issue isn’t with the lyrics, I don’t really dislike the lyrics, it’s with that atrocious microphone feedback noise that they use about 4 times throughout the song. It’s painful to listen to, and it’s even worse when I have a headache.
I don’t know why they thought it was a good sound effect, and it honestly ruins the song.

What a charming little show this is. Anyway, I'm always looking for new recommendations. What are you watching now?
Sports-wise, I'm a Los Angeles Lakers fan and a Las Vegas Raiders fan. I know. This has been a very disappointing season. Hopefully, the Lakers pull something wild off, and players are able to stay healthy. Otherwise, I just can only hope for a better season next year. I need something to be excited about. I have a lot of random useless sports information in my head. I've loved basketball and football my entire life, so I'd much rather stay at home and watch a game than go out and drink or party or whatever.

The events of this week have truly been unprecedented in history. This week we are experiencing a large increase in people on the sub engaging in discussion.
While the news of the high-profile UFO whistleblower is still ongoing, another event has surfaced and is garnering a lot of attention in the community.. The mod team has come across evidence of possible influence campaigns in this subreddit, happening now, regarding the Las Vegas (LV) event. We don't know who is behind it or why they are doing it. In summary, they invite people to a private chat group and ask them to post about the Las Vegas (LV) event in some way - either a poll or discussion. The motives behind this are suspicious.

I spoke to the OP involved in the chat group incident and they indicated there were about 45 people invited to that chat talking with the main person. None of the participants seemed to know each other and new participants were being invited continuously. All were asked to post either a poll or discussion about the LV Event.
We also want to acknowledge that the LV Event could still be a real encounter just that it is also possible that it is being used as a distraction from larger issues that are sending a substantial amount of new people to our subreddit.
For transparency, we want to share the evidence with you and to let the community itself decide what this actually means.
In the past we have seen evidence of bot networks and astroturfing and smear campaigns campaigns and shared that evidence with you.

I don’t know how weird this is, but I’ve never listened to a Marina song before. Ever
However, I have heard a good deal about her, especially her album Electra Heart. The album cover’s pretty recognizable, and it seems to be a pretty popular album. Also heard people say that she’s at least a bit similar to Lana and Lorde, or that she’s at least in a similar category to them, so I thought I should finally check her out if I like those two artists.
Again, I heard this is her most popular album. But, I’ve also heard that she’s playing a character here, and that, as far as I know, this is her only album that sounds anything like this.
Anyways, I listened to all of the standard tracks, plus the deluxe tracks and 10th anniversary tracks, and I’d say I liked the album overall.
Was a bit surprised by Marina’s vocals at first. Her tone was not what I was expecting at all, but I eventually got used to it. I was worried that I’d get annoyed by it.
I like the production, but I was expecting something a bit more “influential” or “experimental” based on people’s discussions of the album. There’s definitely a lot of 2012-2014 synth pop and pop EDM/dubstep going on in there. Reminds me a lot of Carly Rae Jepsen’s Kiss album. Just surprised that that’s what most of the album sounds like, when I’ve seen many people say they hated that era of pop. Still liked it, though. Definitely an overhated niche in modern pop.
It was only my first time listening to the album, but I would say that some tracks maybe sound a bit similar to each other. At least in that they capture a similar mood. Buy The Stars, one of the bonus tracks, was the only track that deviated from that for me so far.
Lyrically, it definitely feels similar to Lana’s Born To Die. The context and storytelling, at least, not the literal writing style. Teen Idle and Sex Yeah definitely stood out to me with their lyrics. Also liked the subtler motif of religious trauma I noticed on a few songs.
I probably would listen again, but I’d want to know if I’d like her other albums as well, knowing that this is really her only album like this. I’ve heard many people call her music “depressing”, though. That sounds at least a bit promising to me. I’m thinking that I should at least check out Froot as well, because that’s another album by her I’ve heard a lot about.

Last year, I recorded two songs and I'd like to edit and mix them to create a proper product. I'd like to find like-minded collaborators who share my vision, some producer that can develop them with no fear about making several changes. The style is something that mixes alternative rock, psychedelic, folk and a bit of noise.
I'm not seeking professional producers, but if any experienced individuals are intrigued by my ideas and want to contribute, that would be fantastic! Primarily, I'm looking for people who are open to experimentation and keen on gaining valuable experience through this project.
The first track, "Voce Colma di Vuoto" is a fusion of folk and psychedelic rock with lyrics in Italian.
The second track, "Beautiful World" is a cover of the cover by Rage Against the Machine. I'm envisioning a reinterpretation that embraces an ethereal, psychedelic, and noisy atmosphere.

With that project I'd like to create nonsense and ironic songs.

For one, its just simply not very distracting and has been going on for decades. The vast majority of the population don’t give a shit and laugh it off and move on. I have never heard anyone in real life discuss UFOs in the news. Not once. We are already distracted by social media, entertainment/movies, sports, video games, politics, etc.
Most mainstream outlets don’t even air any of it. You get a small story here and there, but that’s it. The interest is very low. Right now, it seems primarily only Fox News airing anything of merit in regards to UFOS and the recent whistleblower. The rest is just that Las Vegas story which is very similar to every other UFO sighting that local news channels may air here and there and move on.
I feel like if this whistleblower and the corroborating claims that came out this morning from other sources were in reference to any other mainstream conspiracy, COVID/Big Pharma, moon landing, JFK, 9/11 etc, this sub would be all over it.
Not saying it’s definitely aliens, but I think there is definitely something to it. It’s just been going on for so many decades with leaks, videos, military personnel and government official testimonies, with some jeopardizing their careers and livelihood. And none of it has been very distracting. I don’t think it’s a manufactured distraction nor is it simply nothing.

This footage published on YouTube today is very timely! It’s a clip noting the posthumous release of a manuscript written by NASA scientist Paul Hill called, Unconventional Flying Objects, which is Hill’s book about his investigations of UFOs while at NASA. His daughter, Julie Hill, found and published it after his death.
What really caught my attention that directly relates to this week’s UFO news is the description of 3 types of aliens witnessed here on Earth… one type being 8 to 10 feet tall… just exactly as the new case reported on this week. The family in Las Vegas who are recorded on 911 call and told police, who caught sight of the crashing UFO in body cam footage, that 8 - 10 foot aliens were in their backyard looking at them.
This is powerful evidence in my opinion. This man’s life work at NASA on UFOs was published after his death! He certainly had nothing to gain since he kept his manuscript secret during his lifetime.

Live in Las Vegas and Cox Communications is my ISP provider. For about a month now, I have noticed packet loss reported in my system gateway logs. This is at random times and would like to understand if this is DNS or WAN IP within the ISP's network. Recently last couple of months noticed this behaviour.

Foo Fighters - Very talented artists that wrote some very catchy and instantly recognizable signs that helped define Alt Rock for a generation
The Foo's are probably one of the best bands in the history of music. Dave Grohl is definitely one of the most talented singers, writers, guitarists, bassists, drummers, etc ever. And the rest of the band compliments his talent perfectly. 10/10.
The Cranberries - Dolores had a great voice, she had range and power.
They have some truly amazing songs. Dolores’s voice was unique and so beautiful.
Their Album No Need To Argue is one of the Greatest 90s Rock Albums.
She wrote about child loss and eating disorders and breakups and war and injustice and so many heavy topics
They were so unique in their sound and their content, while have very diverse sounding songs but still instantly identifiable as the same band. (Zombie). They sounded right on time for the era but also I feel like it could still be released today. 10/10
Blur - underrated 90s band. They definitely captured the britpop sound that was big in the Uk at the time and the only time they tried to take on (or parody) American rock was with song 2 which ironically became their biggest hit. Their first album leisure has some great tunes on it and has a very shoegaze type sound and is pretty heavy. Their second album Modern life is rubbish is very Bowie and probably my favorite. Park life, their third album, is probably their best
Oasis - the arrangement of Oasis songs are pretty simple - Noel writes a simple chord line, solos all over the scales - major, relative minor, higher octave (of the same note) etc. The lyrics are written primarily by Noel and generally tend to connect to the common folks . Women in particular are easily swayed by Oasis' music mainly because it is a fairytale - Two brothers who are working hard and succeeding together. There are two different vocal feels to Oasis' songs - The Liam feel and the Noel feel. Liam sings songs that require a tenacious , snarling voice. Such songs (Supersonic, The Hindu Times, Morning Glory, Whatever etc) are extremely energising. Noel's feel is more melodic and melancholy. Such songs (Don't Look Back In Anger, The Importance Of Being Idle etc) are more guitar oriented . There are also songs where both the brothers sing a part each (Acquiesce , Let There Be Love)
Radiohead - they establish a complex system of unnatural sounds, organized into mesmerizing sonic layers to engage even the most jaded music lovers.
Radiohead is not perfect in every way • Deep Lyrics with a little touch of mysticism and fiction in them.

• Pioneers in Experimental music and the use of strange voices.
  
• Sleepy, and Soft voice of Thom Yorke.
  
• The revolutionary use of Space ambient music in songs. (DayDreaming and pyramid song etc.)

Deftones - There is just something so ethereal and mysterious about the Deftones sound that draws you toward them. I have never heard another band than create an atmosphere like Deftones. I also dont know of any other band that can make you want to kill all the lights in the listening space and have an absolutely spiritual jam session. It's interesting because most artists tell how the song should make you feel whereas Deftones more or less suggest emotions as opposed to forcing them on you. They are masters of creating their own weather with each track. 10/10
Korn - They have a special place in my heart for being one of the bands to get me into heavier music. 10/10
Nightwish - 10/10
Alice In Chains - Layne Staley had one of the greatest rock voices of all time. 10/10
Pearl Jam - Their contribution continues to be huge. 10/10
Soundgarden - One of the Best Rock Bands in history. They were revolutionary in the way they wrote music. Cornell’s range was (at the time) unheard of and completely unhuman voice. He had perfect control of every octave he had in his range. His technique, tone, enunciation, and everything else was absolutely perfect. He could scream like a banshee from hell and wail like a martyr. His voice was beyond powerful. “Burden in My Hand” is one of the most beautiful songs ever, both lyrically and musically. This is a song that can make a grown man weep, the song being about a man that killed his lover, left with his feelings and his revolver, a burden in his hand. He has been remarked as the Best Rock singer in history by Axl Rose himself.
Kim Thayil is also a VERY underrated and brilliant guitarist, Ben Shepard is a very talented (and underrated) bassist and Matt Cameron is an absolute master of drumming.
Smashing Pumpkins- Don’t like Billy’s Voice 5/10
Stone Temple Pilots - Weiland composed amazing contrapuntal vocal melodies, Robert DeLeo is an absolute MONSTER of a bassist, and their songs are catchy asf and super atmospheric and emotive.
And they’re one of the only bands ever to successfully pull off a damn good second lead singer with Gutt—somehow he both emulates Weiland while still having his own uniqueness and blending right in perfectly with the band as though he was always a part of it. They’re pros, and they have written incredible rock tunes. Amazing lyrically and vocally. Perhaps underated. One of the best alt rock bands of the era.
Scott had an amazing voice. 10/10

Right lads, I’m Irish, boyfriend was Scottish, he’s gone and left me but that’s not the issue here. There’s this one song he used to play all the time and I absolutely love it but I never saved it and cannot find it anywhere, this is an absolute shot in the dark cos I’m not even sure on the lyrics but if anyone can help me I’d appreciate it so much. It’s a really upbeat tune and as far as I recall some of the lyrics are as follows: Well what did you do today(maybe last night?) But you never heard that from me and that’s the way it’s always going to be. Might be a lyric that says I never heard better than that or I should have known better than that? Hi, I don’t know what to do. I met this guy today at a business picnic. My mom invited me because she works for the sponsoring company, and free food is free food. So I go, and I notice that there’s a musician. I really like the guitar, and this guy was playing it. It sounded really good so I stood and listened. He was looking at me throughout the song. Eventually, I went and got my food. After eating, I stand by and listen again. He’s singing love songs. I can’t remember the names, but one was the “girl put your records on”, and another had lyrics like “there’s no warmth when she’s gone”. During this, he was looking at me and smiling. I sat down and we had a conversation, where I tell him I like rock music. He then plays a song that he says is slightly metal. “Tied to the Whipping Pole”, I think the name was.
I had to leave to watch my siblings swim, and I got his Facebook. I like messenger better than text. I shot him a text, but he hasn’t responded.
Here’s the thing: I overthink, and I have Asperger’s Syndrome. I can’t read people that well. So, please tell me if I’m thinking too much about this. Do you think he likes me?

Live in Las Vegas and Cox Communications is my ISP provider. For about a month now, I have noticed packet loss reported in my system gateway logs. This is at random times and would like to understand if this is DNS or WAN IP within the ISP's network. Recently last couple of months noticed this behaviour.

Thinking of changing from COX DNS servers and pointing them to Google 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4. for starters. Thoughts?
