2023.06.10 02:00 AbruptionDoctrine Yesterday I went to the park, set up a hammock and chilled. Then some asshole in an SUV pulled up, idling in his car long enough that the area started to reek of exhaust. Today sidewalk patios were full, but there was an SUV, illegally parked in the bike lane, idling, filling the air with poison.
Cars are such a fucking blight on cities. These assholes don't even realize how rude they're being when they fill an area with exhaust just to hang out in their giant cages.

2023.06.10 00:55 TheGiantIdiotTeddy A List of Sandwiches
| If Mark & Bob thinks mayo must go on any sandwich to make it a sandwich, they would be more wrong than right. Only 8/40 listed sandwiches include mayo as a required ingredient. Many do not have any sauce at all. If it's a matter of "sauce", I'm sure the residents of Philadelphia would have something to say. Wade wins this debate. submitted by TheGiantIdiotTeddy to distractible [link] [comments] |
2023.06.10 00:26 ninjasaid13 ControlNet Update: [1.1.222] Preprocessor: inpaint_only+lama
| Disclaimer: This post has been copied from lllyasviel's github post. 1.1.222 added a new inpaint preprocessor: inpaint_only+lama LaMa: Resolution-robust Large Mask Inpainting with Fourier Convolutions (Apache-2.0 license) Roman Suvorov, Elizaveta Logacheva, Anton Mashikhin, Anastasia Remizova, Arsenii Ashukha, Aleksei Silvestrov, Naejin Kong, Harshith Goka, Kiwoong Park, Victor Lempitsky (Samsung Research and EPFL) The basic idea of "inpaint_only+lama" is inspired by Automaic1111’s upscaler design: use some other neural networks (like super resolution GANs) to process images and then use Stable Diffusion to refine and generate the final image. We bring the similar idea to inpaint. When you use the new inpaint_only+lama preprocessor, your image will be first processed with the model LAMA, and then the lama image will be encoded by your vae and blended to the initial noise of Stable Diffusion to guide the generating. The results from inpaint_only+lama usually looks similar to inpaint_only but a bit “cleaner”: less complicated, more consistent, and fewer random objects. This makes inpaint_only+lama suitable for image outpainting or object removal. Comparison Input image (this image is from Stability's post about Clipdrop) Configuration: Configuration 1 Configuration 2 (The Resize Mode \"Resize and Fill\" enables outpaint) Results: ") ") You can see that inpaint_only+lama is a bit "cleaner" than inpaint_only (and also a little bit more robust). You need at least 1.1.222 to use this feature. submitted by ninjasaid13 to StableDiffusion [link] [comments] |

2023.06.09 23:42 DistributionQueasy75 2017 Prius Electrical Problem
Hi everyone. Just picked up my first Prius, 2017 with 49000km on the clock. Real clean, all the parking assist, lane assist, beep assist I could want. I took it for a test drive and everything worked fine. Thing is it is a Japanese import so my dealer had to service and install a new head unit. So I pick up today with the new head and all that working great but he notices as he's bringing it round to me that the driver's side window control can only operate the driver window. All the others work locally but not via the driver panel. Then I notice the ac panel also isn't working at all. Ac still works via the steering wheel controls so it's just the panel.
He's gonna take it back in sometime next week, but where would you guys start in looking for the issue because if I can do it myself and save loosing it for the day then I'm happy to do so.
Maybe the mechanic did something installing the head unit? Or maybe some fuse?

2023.06.09 22:52 Orlando_Circlejerk Quick questions regarding the orlando API blackout
I would like to apologize in advance, I’m a newer redditor and brand new to this incoming blackout and super anxious about it.
Many subreddits will be going dark in petition of the API pricing policy changes, and some apps have stated they will shut down altogether on June 30th. While I am in agreement with this protest since our voices need to be heard amongst this world of greedy corporations, I do have my concerns. This is my first time doing anything like this. What is the general protocol when something like this happens? Is there anyone who is more experienced with these blackouts able to reach out and guide me on what to prepare when these subreddits that I frequent go down? I am extremely worried and can hardly sleep at night. I’m only getting one, maybe two hours of sleep if I’m lucky. My performance at work is taking a drastic hit and because of the deficiency of sleep, I have constant mood swings. I don’t qualify for insurance for healthcare so I can’t exactly visit my local primary physician for help. All of my income goes to my increased rent and inflated food prices. The start of this month has already been rough for me. I’ve lost my hat, had to replace my worn-down shoes and my apple smart watch broke. This API blackout is just another issue added to my stress. Can any locals show me the ropes and help calm my nerves? Everywhere I go, I use reddit. My livelihood depends on it. I am shaking, getting light headed, and sweating myself as I’m typing this.
I’ve been hearing more and more reports of people leaving reddit altogether. They will be deleting all of their comments and posts before closing their accounts. Should I screenshot my favorite posts and put together a printed photo album when I want to go back to revisit some things?
I am mainly looking for information if anyone has advice on what to prep ahead of this blackout. We will not have any access to news, issues and events happening in our city when reddit goes dark. I imagine that traffic will be even worse than it already is because people will no longer be at home, on reddit. Combining that with speeders, slow people on the left lane, vehicles without their lights on in the rain and tailgaters.
Before you all brigade me for being a moron by asking what to prep and to “google it”, it was the first thing I did and I have some notes on hand. Just looking for the veterans to provide their wisdom and insight. Please stop the hate and be respectful. Reddit IS the front page of the internet.
I already have a few essentials such as a yearlong subscription to my local newspaper, bottled water that is not Zephyrhills or nestle, toilet paper, canned goods, portable AM/FM radio, an OLED Nintendo Switch™ with BOTW/TOTK including a battery recharge pack, candles, lenovo legion gaming pc for Diablo IV, lighters, tarp, sandbags, generator and most importantly, some pubsubs but there is no telling what will really happen until you actually experience it. Should I withdraw some cash on hand? How much? What will my reddit coins be worth? I made a regretful mistake recently of purchasing a very expensive reddit avatar nft as well and can’t refund it. I have some memes already printed out (majesty building mostly) and some printouts to simulate new posts like inadequate driving, traffic, i-4, what internet provider, BEST pizza/burgers/wings, epass or sunpass, hidden gems in Orlando, going to the theme parks will it rain, police/helicopter activity anyone know what is going on?
Discord is not an option for me. I’ve tried using discord and their pro nitro version but it isn’t the same as reddit. There are no orange upvote arrows, or karma and you have to jump through many loopholes to unlock different channels that I don’t have the mental capacity to learn. I joined the local gaming one and some user named rat mother personally banished me afterwards since they had a vendetta against me because I don’t understand reaction face emotes. So now I can’t even find friends to game with and play solo. I have not experienced this much toxicity since the days of ranked league of legends.
This is all just too sudden to go cold turkey from this subreddit with no warning. Will emergency services be open? What are the early signs of withdraw? Will Disney be open? Universal Studios Islands of Adventure? Does anyone realistically know where to specially get discounted tickets?
I do not have reddit gold/platinum at this time but will services restore to those who have those VIP features earlier than those who don’t have it? Or is it amount of reddit karma based? People who want to be ignorant and rude by saying “touch grass” need not comment. I have a medical condition that makes me severely allergic to organic wildlife matter. When you selected your starter Pokémon did you pick Bulbasaur? No, you did not touch grass. You went with Charmander or Squirtle. A lot of you might laugh and not take this seriously but I am a reddit pro power user. 93% of my phone’s battery app usage is for reddit and I upgraded my gaming pc to the 4090 for reddit. We all have our passions and hobbies and there is no need to shame others for theirs.
I’ve survived the hurricanes, the recession, pandemic and inflation. The death of vine, decline of digg, and the change from micro-usb. I don’t think I have the strength, the faith, nor the willpower strong enough to push through this blackout. Orlando is my home, my city. I was born and raised here. Even if we all leave this subreddit Orlando will still be with me, forever and always just like those who moved here from New York. They too, are Local and FLGrown. But it also begs the question on where Orlando Weekly will steal content posts next?
In the aftermath of all of this, will we all be the same person going in to this blackout as we are coming out? I have concerns that I won’t be “me” anymore. Who will take responsibility and be accountable for this emotional yet spiritual awakening traumatic event? The moderators?
[Edit] Thanks for the gold kind stranger! This is the way. The narwhal bacons at midnight (for those of you who are true redditors).

2023.06.09 22:50 DAMadigan Don't Call Him Cheef
I have been reading Greg Rucka's LOIS LANE a bit and I cannot tell you how much it irritates and offends me that his version of Lois apparently cannot spell well. Every time she sends a story in to Perry White, Perry calls her and comments on all the words she has misspelled and how she misspells them and he seems to think this is somehow endearing and I guess so does Rucka and it's not.
It's not a funny little quirk. It's insulting to those of us who can actually spell. This woman is a major cultural icon and now that our culture has advanced to the point where she isn't being laughed off as a buffoon in every panel she appears in, now that she is being treated as an accomplished and experienced and wildly successful journalist, well, I guess Rucka thinks she's got to have some kind of humanizing flaw and the one he picks is, she's fucking subliterate.
If she can't spell, she would never be able to achieve the level of success she has in one of the few remaining textual professional fields left. It is a basic requirement. Furthermore, I'd like to think that Clark Kent/Kal El/Superman would feel more than a little bit of contempt for her if she not only does not know how to spell the big words she regularly uses, but CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO LEARN.
Editors like Perry White have better things to do with their time than BASIC SPELLING CORRECTIONS FOR THEIR LEADING AWARD WINNING REPORTERS.
For fuck's sake, if she's got to have an endearing flaw, let her correct other people's grammar. Let her kill plants without meaning to. Maybe she drives like a menace, and parks wherever she wants to and never pays her tickets. There are any number of weird quirks you can give her to humanize her, but making her subliterate, when she is in one of the very few jobs left where literacy not only matters but is absolutely essential, is just stupid, and unbelievable.
Superman would never date, much less marry, a person who can't spell and refuses to learn.
Can you imagine anyone ever doing a story in which any male protagonist at all was revealed to be unable to spell big words correctly? Oh, but Lois is hot, there's always going to be a smart man around to correct her spelling for her. Jesus this is offensive.

2023.06.09 22:21 blindsight List of completed LitRPGs (final version, possibly)
In protest of Reddit's API changes, I have just finished deleting as much of my post and comment history as possible. I have heard that this list has been useful for many readers over the years, so I am reposting the list as a new post here, instead of a comment.
I expect I will be using Reddit very little, if at all, going forward. I will not be updating this list any longer.

2023.06.09 22:15 HorrorJunkie123 I Work at a Small Town McDonald's. My Manager Makes us Follow a Strange Set of Rules - I Think I'm in Way Over my Head.
If you need to catch up, you can do so
here.
A couple of college kids stumbled in, trying to hide the fact that they were obviously stoned out of their minds, and retrieved a pickup order. I watched as they clumsily staggered out the door. One of them held it politely for a small old lady. An old lady wearing a shawl. She didn’t utter so much as a thank you, beelining up to the register with purpose. I was exhausted, up well past my normal operating hours, so I had completely forgotten about the rules. Big mistake.
The woman glowered up at me, face obscured from view. Her head covering was black as well as the rest of her outfit, not unlike a ninja you’d see in a movie. The aura she radiated frightened me, but not enough to release me from my sleepy haze.
“Hello, how can I help you?” I yawned, lazily covering my mouth.
The woman didn’t move a muscle. She scowled at me, yellow reptilian eyes piercing my psyche and sending my heart into overdrive.
“Ma’am? Would you like to order something?”
Nothing. The longer we continued our staring match, the more sedated I felt, and not just due to the lack of sleep. She had some sort of strange pull over me. I nearly nodded off, my mind wandering back to the instructions.
Before I passed out, I murmured, “where’s Tony?”
Suddenly, I was released from my trance and the woman was nowhere to be found. Like she had simply vanished into thin air. My eyes widened. That was close. Too close. I trudged to the sink and splashed some cool water in my face, then poured myself a large cup of coffee. I knew it would probably keep me up well past closing, but hey, if it helped me avoid another incident like that, I was all for it.
I had just finished dumping the dustpan into the trash when I felt it. A peculiar sensation crept over me like bugs crawling on the back of my neck. I was being watched. But from where? I sensed it coming from the drive thru. I whipped my head in its direction. Empty. It shifted to the dining area. No one was there. I grew lightheaded and panic began to surge through my system. A breeze swept past my ear, and I swear I could hear a soft almost imperceptible voice whisper, “Blair.”
I bolted to the office, slamming the door shut as quickly as I could. What
was that? I paced around the office like a caged animal, anxiously waiting for something, anything to happen. After what felt like an eternity, it began to dissipate without incident. I sat there for a moment, contemplating if this was really the right career path for me.
Was every night like this? I was snapped back to reality by static emanating from my headset. I ripped it off until the noise stopped. A bumbling male voice crackled through it.
“Hey, uh, is this place open?” he slurred, obviously under the influence.
“Yeah. What do you want to order?”
I was beginning to lose my cool. Between all the strange occurrences and the inebriated customers, my patience was wearing thin.
“I’ll have a filet-o-fish meal.”
“Coming right up.”
I made my way back to the kitchen and began preparing his order.
“Who the hell comes to McDonald’s at one-thirty in the morning for a freaking filet-o-fish?” I grumbled, purposely dousing his sandwich in sauce.
I served the man, hoping to be rid of him as soon as possible.
“Thanks. Hey, is that a kid at the counter?”
I turned my head and sure enough, there he was. A mess of blonde tangles and deep blue eyes peered at me from the register. I sighed.
“Yeah, I’ll take care of him. Have a good night.”
A child. Unaccompanied in my restaurant. Just what I needed. I began to approach the counter when rule seven blared in my mind like a tornado siren. I froze mid-stride.
“Just ignore him, Blair. It’s almost two. You got this,” I reassured myself, starting my closing duties early.
That was easier said than done. The child began wailing, shrill high-pitched screams reverberating off the walls. He ran into the kitchen area, allowing me a full view of his tiny frame. The boy couldn’t have been older than six. His Pac-Man T-shirt looked well outdated, and he was filthy, as if he hadn’t showered in years. He began tugging on my shirt, begging for attention.
“Please help me, lady. I can’t find my mommy,” he cried, tears streaming down his rosy cheeks.
He was relentlessly pulling at my clothing. That was it. I’d reached my breaking point. If this child, monster, demon, whatever he was, planned on killing me, he could go ahead and put me out of my misery. I was done.
“Get out! Just screw off and leave me the hell alone!”
He immediately quit sniffling and straightened up as if I’d flipped a switch. Red tinged his striking pupils. Dread began sinking into my gut. A malicious grin blossomed across his lips.
“You made the right choice,” he growled as he headed toward the exit.
“Weirdo kid,” I mumbled, returning to cleaning.
I finished up and waited around for two to hit, praying for a quiet, uneventful end to my first nightmare closing shift. Of course, my prayers went unanswered. I had a mere three minutes until I was supposed to clock out when I spotted it. A dark red viscous liquid oozing from beneath the stove.
“Great. Awesome. Just what I needed.”
I filled up a mop bucket in the storage closet and began sopping up the mystery fluid. If it wasn’t blood, you could’ve fooled me. A persistent copper taste assaulted my tongue every time I opened my mouth. I gagged, forcing vomit back down my throat. The stuff just wouldn’t stop coming. On my third bucket-full of sloshing crimson, I finally started gaining an upper hand.
I mopped fervently as blisters erupted across my hands from the friction of the wooden handle. All the not-blood had been disposed of. I breathed a sigh of relief, careful to avoid splashing myself as I dumped the last of it down the drain. I’d done it.
“Take that, bitches! I win!” I cheered as if I’d just claimed first prize at the Indy 500.
My celebration was short-lived once I glanced down at my phone. 2:35 A.M. I bolted to the freezer, scooping up a couple bags of frozen patties. I slashed them open as quickly as I could, hoping in vain that I’d be able to make it out in time. I dumped their contents on the grill, then turned to toss the packaging in the trash. My heart plummeted into my gut.
A man stood before me. His black dead eyes matched that of the small mask encompassing the top half of his face. Wispy red hair sprouted from his floppy hat. A matching tattered black and white striped uniform framed his features, accompanied by a dingy red tie dotted with images of burgers. He grinned at me, jagged rotten teeth sending a chill undulating through my entire body. He spoke, a rough gravelly voice shattering the tense silence.
“Look, I know you’re new here, so I’ll spare you
this time. But if I ever catch you in here this late again, I won’t think twice about increasing my calorie intake.”
His wicked smile exuded a malevolent hunger that still haunts my nightmares. A wet gray tongue wormed its way around his cracked withered lips. I felt like a mouse about to be devoured by a rattlesnake. He scowled at me.
“What are you still doing here?
GET OUT!” I suddenly regained my mobility. I tore through the dining area and burst into the cool night air. The Hamburglar’s soulless stare followed me into the vacant parking lot. I hurriedly locked him inside and raced to my car as a torrent of emotions flooded through me at once. Fear, anger, and confusion were all prominent on my desolate drive home. In the end, rage won out.
I wasn’t scheduled the next day, but I was determined to make that smug prick in charge at
least give me some sort of explanation. I returned to the golden arches around four hours later running on zero sleep and a whole pot of Maxwell House. With fire in my eyes, I flung the door open and marched straight to Dave’s office.
“Oh, yeah, it was great. Had his car repossessed and everything. Oh, hey Blitz. Uh huh. Yep. I-”
“For the last freaking time, it's Blair! B-L-A-I-R. Not Blitzen, not Blaziken, not Blakely.
BLAIR.” Dave furrowed his brow, mouth slightly agape.
“Yeah Jim, I’ll have to get back to you.”
He ended the call and furiously pocketed his phone.
“Do you even know who that was? I mean, why the
hell do you think you can just storm into my office like this-”
“No, you listen to me, Davey boy. I just had the worst night of my life. Every weird thing that could’ve happened, happened. And you don’t care one bit.”
“I see you’ve become acquainted with our more… troublesome clientele.”
“Yeah. I have. And I’m not dealing with that crap again. I quit,” I hissed, dramatically slapping my hat onto his polished cedarwood desk before turning to walk out the door.
“Wait! Twenty-five an hour.”
I stopped dead in my tracks. I reluctantly faced him. A sly toothy grin was stamped on his greasy face. I mulled it over. That was almost double what I was currently making. I could have my college paid for in no time.
“Twenty-seven and you’ve got a deal.”
“You drive a hard bargain, Mrs.
Blair. I accept,” he said, extending his hand.
I begrudgingly shook it, cringing as his sweaty palm gripped mine.
“I’m glad you were able to see reason. Welcome to the night crew.”

2023.06.09 22:11 Dizzyflxwer Need help with getting back into things
I have been trying to learn how to drive with my permit because I see all my friends driving like it’s nothing. I put off getting behind the wheel for a while because I was so scared. Recently I had gotten onto the road a tiny bit and was finally starting to feel like I could actually do it. Last week, I went to make a turn and someone came into my lane (I’m assuming to avoid a car parked onto the side of the road) and I panicked so bad that I swerved and drove onto the curb and banged up the car a little bit. My mom and I were both freaking out and honestly as soon as I saw that car coming for me I shut down and couldn’t think. I’m so afraid to get back onto the road ever again. My mom thinks that I need to go back to practicing in parking lots because it gave her such a scare. I could have done the right thing in the situation but I let my anxiety take over. I just feel so defeated like I’m back at square one. I feel like I’m a danger on the road because of my anxiety and I honestly don’t know what to do. I know I need to just keep practicing but I need some advice and how to go about this and keep my anxiety at bay. Driving has scared me from the very beginning and this just made it all worse. Thanks for reading my little rant I really appreciate it :)
