Module 1

The Fundamental Principles of Direct Response Copywriting

In this foundational module, you’ll discover:
  • The PUREST essence of copywriting nobody talks about today (and believe me, I’ve looked…)
  • The “Promise-Believability” Matrix… a unique new way to look at persuading people to buy
  • Why – in 95% of cases – you aren’t really selling what you THINK you’re selling (And what you’re ACTUALLY selling through your product or service)
  • The #1 way to melt away your prospect’s objections with ease… and turn them into devout BELIEVERS for life
  • The “mother” of ALL copywriting formulas… Single-handedly responsible for BILLIONS of dollars in sales (and NO, it’s not “AIDA”, “PAS”, or “PPPP”)
  • Eugene Schwartz’s 4 game-changing marketing secrets that revolutionized the marketing industry as we know it. (In fact, one of these is the sole reason why sales funnels exist today!)
  • 7 proven ”quick-n-dirty”copywriting templates & checklists you can use to reliably pump out winning copy FAST – even if you’re a beginner

So in Module 8, you’ll discover:

2023.06.10 01:54 Solid-Prompt-499 Is this a common problem in your workplace with managers?

Hi folks! I recently graduated and landed my first job in the healthcare industry. I’m really grateful for this opportunity but I’ve been dealing with a very unprofessional manager. In the beginning when I applied for this job, they were looking for someone who could start immediately and as usual, I was looking for their email to send my CV but only a number was provided and the job post said to WhatsApp that number, so I did, but through my dad’s business WhatsApp as this partly also felt like a scam and he has no problem giving that number. The job post seemed very shady and unprofessional. I was desperately in need for a job so I msged it with my cv, turns out it’s the number of the manager. After a few days I get a msg from the manager on my WhatsApp which he found through my CV at 1AM!!! I was awake so I replied, he proceeded to ask me personal questions which made me feel weird but I still ignored it. Since then he kept msging me at night at odd timings like 3AM and I would simply reply back in the morning next day. We both went to the same school so this guy even asked about me to my old classmates who we have mutual friends on. He even found my insta and followed me. My parents warned me about this guy’s shady behavior but I thought once I start the job I won’t have to deal with him much since he’s only the HR person, yeah I thought he was in HR. Fast forward I get the job, I joined the hospital and things are going great on the first day, until I realized he was the manager and his behavior as super weird. He would avoid contact with me at all cost. On the second day of the job he literally called me at night and started yelling at me, baffled and shocked I asked him what happened and it turns out to be a misunderstanding created by my colleague. I ignored it. This is still not the main issue tho. My issue is that the place I am working in does not seem to have proper timings. I requested morning timings, but he refused. I requested weekend off, he refused. I requested to be placed in the morning shift for at least three days, he agreed but later refused. Now I asked him when my holiday would be, last Sunday he told me it’s this Saturday. Today he literally pretends not to say anything of such and told me come tomorrow, I already made plans for tomorrow but now he wants me to take off on Tuesday or Wednesday. My word demands a lot of physical efforts and if I take off on Tuesday, it would mean I would be working 10 days straight. In other well developed countries it is literally illegal for people in my field to work more than 4 days continuously. There are many such instances where he has shown extremely unprofessional behavior like telling me how to do my job when he is literally only 12th pass, not that 12th pass is a bad thing but it feels very disrespectful for him to be telling me how to do my job when I’ve literally put my life and soul into studying for this career. I refused to come tomorrow and he replied in a tone which almost seems threatening. I’m a Bahraini, this clinic is owned by expats, he is a expat, this clinic is short on staff and is solely dependent on me, yeah I’m the one running it along with my colleague. They literally pay everyone else more than me cuz half of my salary is given by tamkeen. He just sits on the reception. If I literally stop doing my job, their clinic would lose at least 100BD business each day, so for him to talk to me in that tone when his whole career is dependent on my work is absolutely ridiculous. I don’t know what to do. No other Bahraini clinic is willing to take fresher like me in.

2023.06.10 01:47 flirtyspiiice Negotiating Salary? Looking for advice before signing offer letter.

Hey y’all! Posting on an alt account. I’ve recently been offered a job as a library program associate! 😁😁😁 I’m super excited and nervous for this new opportunity. Beating down imposter syndrome as we speak. I have the skills, knowledge, and clicked with the hiring manager. I really enjoyed meeting and hearing from the panel interviewers as well.
Now, my dilemma: the job requires me to move states. About 800 miles. I’m going to sell all my furniture, and only take clothes and personal belongings. Start afresh in the new city.
The starting salary was $22-$24 and hour, and my offer is $25. At first, I was super stoked because it’s above the starting salary. I was ready to sign until I thought a bit more about moving & relocating. I want to negotiate for more, but I’m not sure if I’m being greedy.
My stats: -BA in English Lit. -2 years experience as a library assistant part time during undergrad -3 years experience as an ESL teacher -1.5 years experience in higher education enrollment -5+ years experience in customer service
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!TIA!!!
EDIT: (additional info) they wanted me to start this month, but I pushed for first week of next month and they agreed. Worried I’m asking for too much now.

2023.06.10 01:46 mallampapi_iv New Grad: 401a to Roth Rollover?

I’m graduating from an anesthesiology program, and will be starting private practice in August. My residency enrolled us in a 401a FICA alternative, and mine is valued at ~20k in a target date fund (RFKTX), and fully vested. I’m married, with children, on a single income. I’m estimating that my income for 2023 will end up around 200-250k between residency salary through June (~35k) + per diem at my home institution for July ($15k) + private practice ($150-200k).
My group offers a Roth and traditional 401k. I was thinking of rolling my current 401a over to a Roth IRA, and also making my 401k contribution for 2023 as Roth, as we’ll likely be in the 24% tax bracket. I figure the Roth IRA will have better investment options, better estate planning, and to my knowledge, is protected from creditors in my future state of practice (Michigan), just like a 401k would be should a malpractice or other judgement come against me.
However, there are some downsides to this, and I have related questions:
  1. Roth = taxes, and I’ll need to pay federal taxes on my rollover, about $5k out of pocket to make the 20k into Roth money. Plus taxes on my Roth 401k contributions, obviously.
  2. Question: if I convert the 401a into a Roth IRA after I move from Florida (no state tax) to Michigan (4.25% tax), will I have to pay state income tax on this rollover? Do I need to make this maneuver before leaving Florida (in the next couple months) to save $850?
  3. Is the consensus to take advantage of the lower tax bracket and do the things I’ve listed here? I have 400k in student loans at 3.3% interest (unfortunately refinanced just before Covid). This means that starting January 2024, I’ll have ~7k/month payments x 60 months per my refinancing contract. We’ve mapped out our financial plan and expect to live off 120k, which gives us 3k left over at the end of each month after all expenses, retirement contributions, insurances, etc…but it’s still daunting to think about. We have 60k in savings from selling our residency home, but I’m a bit anxious about spending any money before we get a feel for our new life and income. There will be several thousand in costs associated with moving and setting up a new, larger rental home, as well as adapting to life in a new climate (wardrobe).
On paper, the Roth makes sense. But part of me wonders if it’d be better from a peace of mind perspective to go tax deferred now, put the tax bill money in the bank, and keep it on hand for all the changes and expenses coming our way. Thoughts?

2023.06.10 01:45 communityuser9678 I don't know who I'd be without my friends, but I'm suffering from having them i think

TLDR: I know I'm coming from a place where I never really felt accepted, and now that I have friends, I'm constantly finding myself struggling to keep up with them and my own life. I just need some tips on how to balance things or how to maybe let go of things I'm trying too hard to hold onto
Just wanted to ask for some advice, I sometimes I feel like I'm drowning in keeping up with my social connections and I truly don't know how to stop that feeling and get back to a place where maintaining these connections feel joyful again and not like an obligation that always chasing me.
Just some background, I grew up a pretty quiet person. My reservedness definitely peaked in middle school since I went to a different school than my friends. Eventually, I was able to make friends on my own, and one in particular became my best friend, which at the time meant the world to me because before then, I did not have someone like that. She meant a lot to me because I finally was able to do things I saw other people do with their friends. It kinda felt like a privilege to have her as a friend. Unfortunately, she was a bit of a difficult person to be friends with. Honestly, we had a bit of a codependent relationship where I ended up being servile, but it was a mutual situation since she had someone there to "meet" her needs and i got to have a close friend. This dynamic continued and got drastically worse as we continued into high school. She would say things to me in middle school suggesting our dynamic was like the movies where the cool kid befriends the lame kid and changed them for the better aka i was a charity case. By high school, it turned into her more outrightly demeaning me by saying a lot of things, from my body to my personality, that ate away at my confidence. Despite all this, I clung even tighter to our relationship in high school because once again, I did not have a large community of people that transferred from my middle school to our high school. Even though my friend made it seem like no one else would like me outside of her, I did try talking to new people from time to time once I was able to hype myself up for it. And through trying to reach out to people beyond folks my friend knew, I was able to make a new friend, which immediately my best friend began putting down and demeaning.
To add to the plot, my best friend and I began dating the summer before our junior year, which turned out as great as you'd imagine it to be. We ended up breaking up since the people around us, primarily her friends, made a group chat to question her and her treatment of me since she had gotten confident enough to berate me in public and talk very negatively behind my back. I found out years later that she would tell people that I'm a waste of space and worthless as a person. After our break up, she vowed never to talk to me again because I got her friends to betray her, which of course, I did not do.
Fast forwarding, after a lot of time sulking and honestly feeling the most alone I've ever felt, I tried reaching out to a few new people and managed to make a few friends on my own and forming deeper friendships with the people who were friendly to me during my tumultuous relationship. This began to create the start of some semblance of confidence and I'm still super loyal to these friends to this day. Moving into college, I really wanted to ditch the quiet act and be someone new. This definitely did not happen, but I did still attempt to reach out to others and even put effort into making plans and setting up mini events to hang with people, which I got to practice the summer before with my high school friends. In due time, even though I still felt like an inherent weirdo and super awkward, I made friends that accepted me as me and even developed a new relationship or two, slowly adding to my confidence that I might be worth a damn even though I was still in the process of learning how speak up and stand up for myself.
During the pandemic, I made it a point to keep in contact with my friends from HS and college despite time changes and how far apart we were. I took that shit very seriously, partly because I was bored and partly, because my friends gave me an escape from my homelife in some ways. My home life in gen is pretty fine, but I struggle to being myself at home which is why I moved away for college to give myself the opportunity to find out who i was on my own terms. I would have my weeks planned out with calls to various people after zoom classes and sent gifts to folks whenever my spirit called or I found out someone was sick or was going through a rough time. While all this is great, I did partly run myself into the ground trying to ensure i was on top of things in my relationships.
This gets me to this year or maybe the past two years where this feeling has increased. I'm honestly talking less to my friends than before due to changes in my life and theirs, which makes me feel guilty despite the fact that I know these relationships are two way streets and they can reach out to me too. Also, I've moved back home again and I'm back in the position where I'm trying to balance my relationship with my mom and her desires, but on top of that, my partner, my family friends, friends from HS and college, and work connections. Somewhere in this, I'm also trying to connect w/ myself and figure out where I want to be and where I want to go. Honestly, writing this long ass post (sorry for its length) is a part of my process of getting to know myself a bit better.
I'm just really struggling with this constant guilt at not reaching out to my friends or responding to messages, the compulsive need to be in contact with them and know the happenings of their lives, and trying to find myself without sacrificing the bonds and relationships that helped to build me into who i am today. I'm just constantly trying to stay on top of things and failing to. Any tips or flaws in my thought patterns would be really helpful. Thanks for reading everything!!!

2023.06.10 01:35 kombitcha420 When do you realize it’s time to give up on this?

I graduated into the pandemic, I had 3 opportunities in my college town that I’d be doing that summer. All offers were rescinded after March. I applied all summer and had meetings with people at different aquariums and even several people with NOAA, DMR, and a few other orgs.
Between graduation and now I’ve applied to hundreds of different jobs. Labs, aquariums, government, organizations, even Petsmart. I still find myself waiting tables.
I managed to do some volunteer work for a good amount of time afterwards, but it gets hard when the price of living keeps rising and I find myself needing to work more and more hours serving.
I’ve had my resume looked at, practiced interviews, I just don’t know what’s wrong with me.
This was my dream. Since I was little. I applied to the only job that’s popped up within an hour of me in months and went through 3 different interviews and was told I’d hear back 2 weeks ago. They ghosted me.
I don’t see ever having a future in this field anymore and I feel like I wasted my entire youth. I don’t have the means to go back to school. I’m barely making ends meet as it is and the loans don’t help.
I need guidance. I was told all through college I’d be great, I was a good student. Now I just feel like college was a huge waste.
Can anyone offer advice? Please DM me

2023.06.10 01:25 Affectionate-Yak2965 Accepted to 6 Canadian Medical Schools: Guide to Canadian School Applications

Hi Everyone 😊 I was going to wait to make a post closer to the peak of the application season but I've been seeing people post about starting their applications so I figured now was as good a time as any.
Some house keeping things first because I know it does provide a lot of context in posts like this. My stats were 3.95 OMSAS GPA, 517 MCAT (129/128/130/130) and 4Q Casper. I have a research based MSc, 2 first author publications, a few conference presentations and some awards. I also worked as a research assistant at the time of my application. IP in Ontario and a black applicant.
I was accepted at UofT, Mac, Queens, uCalgary, uAlberta and UBC. Waitlisted at uOttawa. I did not apply to any other school in Canada. Didn't apply to Western because by the time the deadline came around, I really did not have it in me to write 8 essays so I figured I would risk it as save myself the money.
For all schools except Queens, I applied under the black student stream. A note about the black stream because I know it sometimes gets a lot of hate and some students are weary of applying. If you are black and feel like you connect with that part of yourself, please use this stream! I can only speak for myself but I know there have been times where I was underestimated or judged because I was black. Applying through this stream ATTEMPTS to level the playing field by making sure your application is judged by people who look like you. Most other non-minority applicants already have a panel that looks like them so why shouldn't you? Up until 2018, Queens even still had a policy on the books, enforced or not, that stated they did not accept black students to medical school so just know that institutionalized racism is alive and well so don't miss out on the opportunity to participate in solutions. Applying through this stream is even more work because you need to write an extra essay so don't feel shame in using this program.
Also, please know that you are not defined by being accepted or not. I know it probably sounds pretentious coming from someone who got in but I found myself through the application cycle really being affected by potentially not becoming a doctor. As someone of faith, I truly believe everything happens for a reason so I decided to put in the best application I could and let the chips fall where they may. If I did not get in, I was going to become a genetic counsellor and really start living the rest of my life instead of waiting for med school to upend my life. You are more than any application and a rejection does not make you any less worthy.
Okay back to the guide. Note: These are not my actual entries just to avoid any plagiarism. Every example I give is just an example. Also, I had 2 of my friends read every single thing I submitted, twice, to make sure what made sense to me when I wrote it also made sense to them. To avoid burnout, I would suggest reusing as many entries as you can. For UBC, Calgary and Alberta, I copied and pasted and then just cut to the character limit so that I was not re-inventing the wheel.
I figured the best way to make this post was to go school by school because my application to each school was slightly different.
  1. UBC since it was the first one I submitted: I believe my AGPA was 92.67 and I applied at the regular deadline. For the research and publications, I added literally everything. Journal articles, poster presentations, my thesis (MSc and 4th year). For activities, I leaned into the non-traditional ones (e.g I showed leadership by being an older sibling) and really focused on quantitive measures of success (e.g how much money I raised or how many people I trained) then ended with how the activity improved me. eg "I collaborated with 10 MSc students to organize the 2015 career day. We had weekly meetings to discuss planning and delegate activities. I learned to combine different viewpoints to achieve a common goal." Please have fun with the diversity of experiences section. I literally talked about teaching myself how to use a research program and learning to dance. I also left the high performance section blank. If you have something to add there, great! If not, it does not make or break your application. For UBC, I really think they value realness so be yourself because that is literally the best you can do.
  2. uCalgary was next: GPA was 4.0 because a grade from my MSc could replace my lowest grade from undergrad. This school was a little tricker because there is just one section where you can add top 10 activities. I just selected the top 10 things I had a lot of hours for and was passionate about and added them here. This included research projects/publications where I focused on how I overcame struggles with my project, my first research experience etc. My descriptions were similar to what I wrote for my UBC entries but in the experience impact, I really dug deep and spoke about how I struggled in each role and how I leveraged the people around me to fix problems. I also took the time to talk about why I involved myself in the activity in the first place. So my love for teaching led me to tutor.
  3. Alberta: GPA 4.0 I took activities from my Calgary and UBC applications and filled up this application. Please take the essays seriously, I know I really did. Do not minimize your experiences/challenges. I ended up writing about something I really did not think anyone would care about but it really shaped who I was. I started university at 16 years old and it was very hard for me but it shaped who I was. I also spoke about discrimination I felt as a black student. But do not forget to make the essays positive as well. Yes talk about how these situations were hard but also talk about how they made you resilient, strong and eager to help others. No one wants to finish reading an essay and feel depressed. Show them that you overcame these challenges and it strengthened your zeal to become a physician even more.
Ontario schools: In general I approached each ABS entry in my own modified XYZ method. This just means I provided details by quantifying my impact (numbers) and then talked about what I did. If I had the characters, I spoke about what I learnt. I also wrote down words that represented all the canmeds and spread them throughout my sketch. eg communicate, collaborate, lead, advocate, professional, mentor, manage, reliable, responsible, teamwork, serve, respect. I made sure I used these words when I could. I also used short form to save character limits such as pt instead of patient. Internt'l instead of international. Lastly, I tried to have a good spread of things in each section. I even included 2 entries in the other section.
Some examples
a. enrolled 50 pts in research studies by calling & consenting them, respecting confidentiality and explaining studies
b. Raised $2.5k for breast cancer research by working with 10 community volunteers to plan a bake sale.
c. Taught science to 15 high school students to increase their grades. Taught me how to teach people at their own pace.
  1. UofT: In your UofT essays both the short ones and the long one, make sure you are covering your 4 UofT clusters. I essentially covered 2 clusters in one short essay and 2 in the other and then hit all 4 in the long essay. Even if you just mention something that points to a cluster. It might seem hard to combine them in one activity so I would suggest picking an activity where is is relatively easy. I do not know how they grade the essays but I wanted to be safe and get all the points possible in case they grade the clusters in each essay. For the long essay, I would suggest also writing it as a story. I started with what got me into the activity, what I enjoyed about it, how I struggled, how I overcame, how it made me want to be a doctor and how I use the things I learnt in my day to day life.
5, 6 and 7. Ottawa, Mac and Queens, you really don't have more to do apart from the ABS and the black stream essay if applicable so your interview will be a major part of your application
General note about interviews: I am very good at interviews so I was not worried but you can practice and improve. I videoed myself a lot just to hear if I had any words I kept saying (for me it was I think...) or see if I was keeping eye contact. I would also treat each interview like a conversation with a friend. I like talking about random things so the MMIs were my favourite. Calm down and breath before you start answering each question. Also really think about your responses before you speak and have faith in your answer. There is usually no wrong or right answer so that also means you can change your mind when presented with new information, I did that a lot. Do not panic if you have technical difficulties, I had them at UBC, Mac, Calgary and Alberta. I still got in, trust me it's normal. Lastly, I started and ended each station with a big smile and actually tried to enjoy the interviews.
Now to answer a question I know some people may have, what school will I be attending. I am actually going to be attending a school in the US in the fall so you can checkout my other post to hear about that application process.

Good luck this application cycle and please pm me if you have any questions 😊

I need to go get something to eat, this is just like the Most-Basic Notion Here, "Dialogical Imagination and Heteroglossia," Monological, Reified, Governmental Structure is great at, essentially, One Thing: coercing people into ignoring the contingencies from their strandpoint...

Do We Understand where something, "is," in relation to ourselves through, "more-like," sight, or, "More-Like, the Parallax Effect, whether that is through sight, sound, the other senses,"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dialogue_(Bakhtin)#Double-voiced_discourse#Double-voiced_discourse) Just saying, now,
Monological, Reified, Governmental Structure is great at, essentially, One Thing: coercing people into ignoring the contingencies from their strandpoint...
...and then there are the people out for commodity time on a paycheck and retirement, "You Want People to Be O.K, and to Have Beautiful Lives of a Material Security, which, is as commensurate with their own intentions and plans and contingencies as possible,
I do not mean, "fair," or, "as much as put in," Fact Is All Of Us Put In All Of It, Don't we?
What I mean is that when my brother and I were in NoLa, once, he got into a Dumb Car Accident it wasn't his fault but we had to stay a few extra days to get the car fixed, In Metarie, "which is fine," but we joked the whole time about how, "well I guess we live here now!" Historically, this has not been a joke, serious impediments to one's plans and intentions in travel have been more like the rule, than the exception, throughout most of history, and, it was the case that sometimes people who had an impediment were required to wait, and then work, and then, "now we live in Metarie," if and insofar as these are not mechanical impediments rather they're social, structural impediments, this would not be in congruence with what I mean, likewise, you wouldn't want to exchange a free meal, for, an obligate participation in a dangerous political partisanship you haven't, or, wouldn't have considered otherwise, even if it came with free meals, just like that one, "for the whole duration," that would NOT be a Material Security, which, is as commensurate with one's own intentions and plans and contingencies as Would Be Possible, Factually, it would be possible to maintain your pre-existing, obligations, plans and mindfulness of the contingencies and it would, in matters of fact, be an example of someone else's utilitarianism deciding, to, use you as an instrument insofar as they're able to,

That Looks, to me, like a Beaurocracy, full of people well aware that their game is one and it's simple; they're all their to be coerced into an alientation from their own betters sense about the actions they'll do all day, each day, with serious and Permanent Consequences for the people they'll interact with while their script will tell them. as you or I might read it, "what meager intelligence and intentional, situated empathies of our own we are allwed to consider," while the people who have become so habituated to this process as to believe that it has been OWED to them, that it is their right to have work in which their actions have no name nor conscience nor permanence, all day, each day, for weeks and then months and then decades, and these people will see these same permissible exceptions to the algorithmic theater they're required to do in exchange for their paycheck, truly, an unlimited theater with consequences upon This High an Order, both, in each instance and in the cumulative implications:

"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. Read Simone Weil, She is correct about a lot of things.
This is an Interpretation Which Is Quite Correct, and, Rather Useful; less so on it's own than for the fact that the implications and their contingencies do Not Stray-out of the realm of sense, rather, walk us into rather more sophisticated interpretations which have been written already, and, if we take their implications and the contingencies thereto, we do not find, "another hallway, unrelated to these two," but what we can use to interpret greater depth to the former, Let Me Demonstrate:
Monological Reification, Where Do We See This Instantiated In the Telivision Show, which,#Reification) and this is crucial to remember, cannot, as a function of the entertainment product, teach the office workers that it is meant to amuse and disarm and feel better, honestly, good people write funny programs, it cannot teach them that their job is not their job, but, rather, an altogether unrelated fantasy, while, remaing, you follow; the Television Show CSI Bears almost No Resemblance Whatsoever to actual Law, Law Enforcement, Forensics or the related technologies; it does teach people, and it does amuse them, from, I'd argue, an altogether prurient place of interest, but it would not much amuse a legal, law enforcement, forensic or technology, profession, due to their recognition of the familiar circumstances, routines, Kata, tools, caricateristics and lifestyle of their profession, now would it?

2023.06.10 01:23 AGuyOnAGlobe I've Realized Veganism Isn't Viable

I've been vegan for about a year and a half now and I've concluded that it isn't a viable diet. I have faced many problems throughout the time that I've been vegan and basically every single one of them could be solved by just eating meat.
Most vegans will say that a vegan diet only lacks B12. That is mostly true, but it doesn’t tell the whole story. I've found massive improvements in my cognitive and physical abilities by supplementing Creatine. Creatine isn't considered essential because our bodies create it, but vegans are low it in since they get none in their diet. There are scientific studies backing this up as well. Omega 3s are another one. You can get Omega 3s from seeds, but the Omega 3 from seeds needs to be converted and the conversion rate is terrible, so Algae Oil is basically another required supplement. The diet also lacks Vitamin D outside of some mushrooms and lichen that have been exposed to sunlight for long periods of time, so Vitamin D is another supplement to add to the list.
There are also some nutrients which you can get from a vegan diet, but it isn't practical to get them. Vitamin A, Zinc, Calcium, and some of the B vitamins for example, but that's not even all. To get these nutrients, you either need to supplement them, or you need to know exactly the foods you need to eat to get that nutrient. For example, if you don't eat Carrots and Sweet Potatoes every day, then you won't get enough Vitamin A. Also, Calcium is basically impossible to meet the RDA without supplementing on a vegan diet. Kale is one of the top sources of Calcium and you'd need to eat 400+g of Kale to meet the RDA. There are other sources that have more Calcium than Kale, but those have anti-nutrients that will greatly inhibit the absorption. The top sources of Zinc and Iron will also run into issues with anti-nutrients.
Then there's the gut issues with the diet. I experienced extreme bloating for about a year. I kid you not, I was farting hundreds of times per day. This isn't a problem I had before being vegan. Basically every vegan post I read about the subject said it's normal and it goes away eventually. It doesn't just go away. I eventually managed to fix it by taking a prebiotic and a probiotic. There's another required supplement to add to the list.
And the vegan protein issue. Most vegans will say "just eat Beans and Tofu". You need to eat a ridiculous amount of volume to get enough protein on a vegan diet if you only eat whole foods. A full block of Extra Firm Tofu is only 36g of protein. The same amount of meat will give double that amount of protein, will be more bioavailable, and will have higher amounts of the essential amino acids. There's Plant Based Meats, but they taste terrible, they are nutritionally lacking, and they make me feel sick after eating them. So, to meet protein needs on a vegan diet, Protein Powder is basically a requirement for me, since eating 4 blocks of Tofu per day isn't practical.
The number of supplements I need to take every day to make a vegan diet work is just too much. I need to take Multivitamin + Mineral, Vitamin D, Probiotic, Prebiotic, Algae Oil, Creatine, and Protein Powder. I could drop every single one of the supplements I currently take if I just eat meat. I could probably continue pumping myself full of supplements for some more years, maybe even the rest of my life to make this work, but I'm wondering what the point is. What is this going to solve? It isn't viable for all of society to do something like this. We need meat to be healthy as a society and to have enough meat for everyone, we need factory farms. I really don't like what happens to the animals in factory farms, and I'd like for their conditions to greatly improve, but having factory farms is a necessary evil.
The vegan community is extremely disingenuous when it comes to the diet. I realized quickly after becoming a vegan that most vegans are just crazy. If you watch basically any vegan debate on YouTube, the vegans will call out uninformed meat eaters and say that they only eat meat for taste pleasure. Sure, that is a big reason, but people eat meat because we as a species have evolved to eat meat to be healthy. Vegans try to hide all the downsides that come from cutting meat out of your diet, and the extensive amounts of supplements they require to be healthy.
After a ton of effort and research to try and make veganism work, I've realized it just isn't viable, and I'm going to start reintroducing animal products back into my diet.

2023.06.10 01:17 wallofbullets Turmoil at CAPE: Concerns over the use of NDAs and other expenses

The following text is an excerpt from an issue of The Functionary called 'A clerk-in-training and the "disruptor-in-chief" returns'. The Functionary is a newsletter about the federal public service written by journalist Kathryn May and is published by Policy Options magazine at the Institute for Research on Public Policy (IRPP).
"Anything swept under the carpet?
The Canadian Association of Professional Employees (CAPE), the third largest union, has hit the spotlight with a story in Le Droit outlining grave “ethical concerns’ about the union’s lack of transparency and accountability. Reporter Antoine Trépanier untangles some of the internal squabbling over there before news of president Greg Phillips’s resignation.
According to Le Droit, 10 board directors and local presidents wrote to Phillips in January, objecting to the repeated use of non-disclosure agreements under his tenure. Their letter raised concerns about the cost of the multiple legal settlements and noted CAPE’s finance committee has questions about travel, salary, and remuneration expenses. They claimed non-disclosure agreements and client-solicitor privilege to withhold information are undermining the board’s “effectiveness, power, and oversight.”
There have been growing calls to regulate non-disclosure agreements since the revelation that Hockey Canada and other sports organizations have been using them to keep the lid on sexual assault scandals.
Meanwhile, a dust-up erupted a few weeks ago on social media over CAPE’s proposed budget which includes a dues increase. CAPE explains why it decided to back down on the controversial hike.
CAPE’s general counsel said settlement agreements in labour are standard practice. They are reviewed by external lawyers, and CAPE conduct routine external audits to ensure accountability and transparency. The union also said it believes Phillips resigned for personal reasons.
CAPE was thrown into turmoil several years ago, leading to the impeachment of a president and slew of complaints and lawsuits to settle.
CAPE represents 23,000 policy analysts, economists, translators, interpreters, translators and social scientists working in government."

Combine this WITH the rolodex + DFY lists, you could have a gig in as little as 7 days!

BONUS #4: Ascension Masterclass™

Remember how I was telling you these business owners HATE taking sales calls? Well, guess what’s the only thing they hate MORE than taking the actual calls? Managing the sales team. Believe me: This is the LAST thing these business owners want to do. And because of this, they’ll pay a hefty % of the profits to a sales integrator who can do this FOR them… The Ascension Masterclass™ is currently the ONLY training material that shows you how to go from closer → sales integrator.

BONUS #5: Access To The Vault™

It’s one thing for me to teach you all the tactics and sales techniques. But how much faster would you be able to learn it if you could see it in real time? In the vault, you will have access to personal call recordings and breakdowns of ME. That way, you can simply model my behavior to start making big money ASAP.

BONUS #6: The Interview Cheat Sheet

Simply by using the copy-and-paste message + DFY list of clients I give you, you’ll sit back and watch as opportunities are falling in your lap. Now, once you’re talking with the business owners… what if I could give you the right answers to every single question they’re going to ask you? That’s exactly what the interview cheat sheet is. I’m basically giving you the answers to the test, before you take it. How do I know it’s the right answers? Because I’ve consulted over 1000 sales teams and am considered the industry leaders in that space. Believe me, I know all the questions. Hell, half of them learned from me, anyways 🙂 Imagine how blown away the business owner will be when you nail every single question that they ask…That’s exactly what this cheat sheet will do for you.

BONUS #7: Elite Subcommunication & Tonality™

2 closers. Same scripts. Different results. Why? I’ll show you subtle subcommunication & tonality cues causing avg. salesppl to miss easy sales. And, you can deploy power cues & triggers that make you WILDLY persuasive to most prospects.

BONUS #8: Inner Game Of Sales™

Ever struggled with inconsistency? Sales slumps? This training will show you the mental models I use to stay hot – all of the time! Imagine: You never went into a sales slump…How much more money would you make? This will give you consistency in EVERY aspect of your life…

Description

What You Get:

MODULE 1

YOUR PROFITABLE PRODUCT IDEA

Designing a Blockbuster Hit Starts Here
The best products start with the best and most profitable ideas — which don’t happen by chance nor by waiting for lightning to strike.
It takes a proven process to zero in on the idea with the potential to fly off the shelves.
In this module, you’ll discover my Profitable Product Idea. You will:
  • Choose the best product and audience for you to profit from right now
  • Make sure your Idea passes all 7 Criteria of the Profitable Niche Checklist
  • Express your Idea in one simple phrase that attracts your target market in droves
  • Pre-validate there’s demand for your Idea in a way that automatically lines up your future customers
  • Create your Profitable Product Idea Blueprint so you have everything in one place
This process was developed over 7 years and 7,000 students, and can shave months or even years off your journey from idea to profit.
Whether you don’t have any ideas, or you have too many ideas, or you’re not sure whether your idea will work, your Blockbuster Hit Product starts here.
MODULE 2

YOUR IDEA TO MARKET BLUEPRINT

Turning Your Idea Into an Irresistible Offer
In this module, you’ll take your profitable idea and transform it into the kind of thing folks will line up to buy.
We call it your “Offer”, and it’s the scaffolding around your idea that makes it real. Elements such as:
  • Your blockbuster course name, your price point, your guarantee, bonuses and the reasons to buy now
  • The points of credibility that create massive buyer trust — even if you’re just getting started
  • Your uniquely valuable “process” — how you go about getting your students results (a huge selling point)
  • The social proof to start attracting paying customers immediately, even if this is the first time you’re doing this
The right offer can triple or even quadruple your sales, while the wrong offer will turn a great Idea into a ghost town.
By the end of this module, you’ll have the deep confidence that comes from knowing that everything you’re creating is exactly what your audience wants to buy.
Now you’ll be ready for Module 3, where we’ll start building!
MODULE 3

YOUR MVP LAUNCH

Creating Your Minimal Viable Product & Getting to Market Fast
By the end of this module, you’ll create just enough of your new program or course to be able to start making real, actual sales to real actual customers.
So many programs stop short of this critical step, and leave you stranded, wondering how to bridge the gap between theory and practice. That’s a huge mistake, because it’s critical to test the real world response to your offer before you create your whole course or product, while you still have time to make easy changes and pivots.
Some folks hit it out of the park on the first try, while others need to refine and adjust for a few cycles before they land on just the right thing. Either way, this process ensures you never waste months and thousands of dollars creating the wrong thing.
In this Module you’ll:
  • Use the “paint-by-numbers” MVP process to choose the exact pieces of your product and how they fit together
  • Finalize your Launch “Blueprint”, including the exact concrete steps to get to market FAST and start making sales straight away
  • Choose and deploy one of the 3 simple marketing & promotion campaigns to locate and find the people most likely to want to buy from you
  • Copy/paste from our pre-written campaign messaging templates to immediately have people wanting to know more (versus tuning out or scrolling past)
  • Follow the word-for-word sales scripts to confidently sell your MVP and start taking money even before the end of the module!
MODULE 4

SUPERCHARGE YOUR MARKETING

Reach Even More People & Make Even More Sales
Now that you’ve proven your offer by making some sales, our optional Module 4 is where you can take your marketing even further by stacking 2-3 campaigns together to create a supercharged, multiplier effect.
Whether you stack simple campaigns, requiring little-to-no technology, or more robust campaigns — this is how you realize Goal X. A whole lot more. Whatever that looks like to you.
In this Module, get ready to turn a handful of sales into an avalanche:
  • Get our EIGHT pre-written ready-to-go “Experience Marketing” Campaigns that you can just plug right in
  • Recieve my entire vault of pre-written scripts, emails, web page templates, sales & video scripts that you can take and customize or just use “as is” — they’re yours and they’ve generated literally millions of dollars for my other students
  • Create a Custom Campaign Stack that suits your dominant marketing style — whether you prefer to sell through 1:1 conversations, speaking to groups, or writing — so marketable feels easier than it ever has before
  • Recieve my entire vault of pre-written scripts, emails and web page templates that you can take and customize or just use “as is” — they’re yours and they’ve generated literally millions of dollars for my other students
  • Stand out with your marketing in a powerful, unique, fresh and engaging way that gets the attention of your ideal customers, which is 99% of the battle in today’s noisy marketplace, so you can make some real money
After that, we start to really dial up the “WOW” for your students…
MODULE 5

EXPERIENCE ESCALATION

Supercharge Your Results
Now that you’ve proven your product with real sales and you have a plan for reaching even more people and making even more money, this is where we pour fuel on the fire by “experiencifying” your course.
“Experiencification” is the process of stacking the 10 Core Experiences of The Experience Formula™ into every element of your Experience Product, to increase the effectiveness of your product by 10-30 times.
In this Module you’ll:
  • “Experiencify” your program with the 10 Core Experiences of The Experience Formula™ to create an engaging experience that works with (rather than against) the brain to get your customers “hooked” on taking action and getting results
  • Watch as your students spontaneously put down distractions and excuses and become “achievement machines”, focused on taking action, getting results and bringing more customers your way
  • Embed a powerful process for gathering success stories right into your course, so you can quickly have dozens if not hundreds of glowing testimonials (this is how I ended up with 1480 testimonials and counting for EPM!)

2023.06.10 01:11 ProductionPlanner Passed CSCP today w/ 319

I passed CSCP exam today with a 319 score. Overall I thought it was a relatively simple exam (can’t believe I’m saying that!)
I tried to outline my process and thoughts below but ask me any questions you might have!
**Test, study routine, and background**
Test I finished in about one hour and 35 minutes. The questions were similar in nature and structure to the learning system pre-test, however the chapter quizzes were SIGNIFICANTLY more challenging than what I experienced on the actual exam. It was a pleasant surprise and I could probably have studied a bit less and still passed but I’m happy with the level I studied and my understanding of the material.
Background I’ve been in ops for a while. I’m not sure how much my past education and experience factored into the exam process so I’ll share and let you compare to your own background.
I have a BBA in operations and supply chain management as well as an MBA. Before the CSCP I also sat for the CPIM back when it was five separate exams. On top of education I’ve worked in various manufacturing planning roles for just over 10 years.
Study habits/routine I exclusively used the Learning system. For giggles I took the first pretest before studying at all and scored a 65.
Having taken 5 apics exams already I knew what study routine worked for me and I decided to use the same routine. It’s not fancy or complicated but it works for me.
After the pretest I read both books from the learning system front to back. I averaged between 20 and 75 pages on most days. In addition to underlining important terms and concepts I also took copious notes in a 5 subject notebook. I used about 2.5 subjects worth of the notebook for notes.
After finishing reading the books and taking notes I set the books aside and studies the notes I had created. I would say I reviewed these notes a total of 3 times.
After that I took the practice test and got a 66%. Terrified I took the pretest again and scored a 71.
Using the recommended study order I reviewed my self created notes for the sections I struggled with, finishing by taking the chapter quiz until I received at least a 70%. As I was doing this I made a separate note sheet that consisted of the terms or concepts that I noticed I was struggling with or needed to really study - almost like a cliff notes version of my notes. This helped focus my studies as exam drew closer.
I did this with about half the chapter quizzes.
After I felt better about the areas I scored low on during the practice exam I continued to review my crested notes about two more times
I never used the learning materials from the online portion of the learning system - the books provided all the info I needed.
I always stop studying at least 24 hours before an exam to allow the information to settle, my brain to digest it and make the proper connections.
A good nights sleep, coffee for alert mind and chamomile tea to calm the jitters.
