2023.05.29 06:44 Designer-Vast-8154 New relationship finances post fire

Looking for advice. TLDR: we both have enough for ourselves, but together how do we split things? I have income and small savings, and she has no income and a large savings. I have monthly passive income, which covers all my expenses including rent, car, health, and all insurances with 60% of gross income remaining. The only thing I owe on is the car, which interest rate is 1%, which I use to continue building credit and maintain more in my savings. This was more than what I needed on my own, and I was building my savings aside from my passive income. Over the past 5 months I’ve met and grown in relationship with my partner. We come from different backgrounds and have different financial views. She does not have income, but rather a large savings from her parents, who are some of the kindest and most giving people I’ve ever met. She insists this is enough money to cover all of her desires for the rest of her life. She also has a paid for house in her home country. Where we differ is I prefer to save more and spend less, and she wants to make more and spend more. We both say we don’t care about money, which is only true when we follow our own spending habits. We have been traveling nonstop for 3 months, and splitting things more or less halfway without keeping a score. I have spent all of my monthly income each month and my savings is down to 7 months personal living expenses, from 14. This lifestyle isn’t sustainable for my income, but we are settling down in my country as college students in a week so I expect expenses to go down (both of our college tuitions are paid for). She wants to start her own business but we both want to finish school first, so financial situation won’t change yet. So far our difference in spending has come between us. My question is how do we split our money in a healthy way? If we split rent at our new apartment my monthly expenses would leave 50% gross. Do we combine accounts? Does she contribute an equal amount monthly as my income? Any ideas? If not allowed lmk.

2023.05.29 06:44 Cattagus Could anyone ELI5 where the benefits of the EntityGraph are currently?

Hey, I'm looking for someone to hopefully be able to explain where a few specific benefits of the EntityGraph are currently. To be clear, I understand that the EntityGraph was a necessary replacement for iCache and required tech for Server Meshing and PES, but I'm wondering where the extra benefits (such as responsiveness) are.
According to the Server Meshing And Persistent Streaming Q&A, the EntityGraph would be very scalable, allow for full crash recovery eventually, and make all sorts of backend magic more efficient.
Here's a direct quote that mainly has me confused:
We’re still using some of our legacy persistent services, adequate as designed but known to have performance and scalability issues under our demands. This can result in long waits when fetching persistent data from the services in order to know what to spawn, such as spawning a ship from an ASOP terminal, examining an inventory, changing player loadout, etc. Since full persistent streaming and Server Meshing will both dramatically increase the amount of data we need to persist, we knew we needed to do something about this. This is why Benoit and his team at Turbulent have completely reinvented how we will persist data in the form of EntityGraph, which is a highly scalable service built on top of a highly scalable database that is optimized for exactly the kind of data operations we perform. On top of that, we’re also developing the Replication layer, which acts like a highly scalable in-memory cache of the current state of all entities in a shard, eliminating the need for the majority of queries we’ve been sending to the legacy persistent services.
The main thing that annoys me during gameplay right now is slow inventories, slow ASOP terminals, etc. (the kinds of things mentioned in that quote). So, since we now have the EntityGraph and Replication Layer, can someone smarter than me explain where the listed benefits of responsiveness and efficiency are on the Live servers? Is it just that we are in a too early state of both the EntityGraph and Replication Layer? Or, have the services not been scaled up yet because we are still waiting for Server Meshing? Or perhaps, I just have terrible reading comprehension. Please, let me know!
I pray for the day when I can move items around without constantly noticing an average delay of 10-20 seconds at times, so any hints to help me understand are appreciated! Thanks.

2023.05.29 06:44 damaya21 I think I'm finally overcoming my fears

I would like to express the following in case someone is going through something similar and perhaps my experience can be of help.
As it often happens to many here, I am frequently attacked by intrusive thoughts of the nature "what if Christianity is true because..." I usually defend myself against these thoughts by reminding myself why I no longer believe in those things, listing errors in the Bible or other reasons. However, there are issues that are more difficult to explain for me. I think the one that most often disturbs me is the story of the artist Akiane who through "visions" has painted the "true face of Jesus" and on the internet many people claim to have seen the same face either in dreams, experiences close to reality death or dreams I had never been able to find a 100% satisfactory explanation for this fact anywhere on the internet. I am studying psychology and I myself tried to answer these questions through my own knowledge of the human mind but I do not consider myself very intelligent and there is always the possibility of being wrong in my theories. Well, recently I came across a story on the internet about some kind of social experiment. You may already know it, it's called "this man" and it's about the spread of a face and a text that says "have you dreamed of this man?" To which many people have responded in the affirmative. It has been confirmed that everything was an experiment to see how people are able to deceive themselves through false memories. Now every time I get attacked by these intrusive thoughts about the people who confirm that they have seen the same Jesus in that painting, I think about this experiment and I feel better.
I may still have a long way to go until I completely deconstruct myself and no longer have these thoughts at all, but I think I'm on the right track. If everything goes well next year I will be finishing my degree in psychology. I want to fully overcome my trauma and dedicate myself to helping those going through similar processes.

Understanding Creativity And Innovation

Creativity and innovation are two words that are often used interchangeably. However, they have different meanings. Creativity is the ability to think or produce something original, while innovation is the process of turning that creative idea into a reality. This section will help us understand creativity and innovation and their relationship.

Defining Creativity And Innovation

Creativity:
  • Involves bringing new ideas into existence
  • Can be seen as a talent or skill
  • Can lead to original solutions to problems
  • Requires openness and imagination
Innovation:
  • Involves making those creative ideas a reality
  • Requires collaboration and implementation
  • Can lead to improved processes, products and services
  • Demands problem-solving skills

The Relationship Between The Two

The relationship between creativity and innovation is complex. Without creativity, there would be no innovation, as one must first have an original idea before it can be implemented. Similarly, without innovation, creativity remains an idea, a concept without any practical application.
Creativity can play a vital role in the early stages of innovation, where ideas are generated, refined and built upon. Innovation, on the other hand, is essential in the later stages of bringing creative ideas to fruition. Innovation transforms concepts into value-adding products or services for individuals, companies and society as a whole.

The Benefits Of Fostering Creativity And Innovation For Personal And Professional Growth

Fostering creativity and innovation can bring tremendous benefits to your personal and professional life. Here are just a few:
  • Enhanced problem-solving ability: Creativity and innovation encourage finding new ideas and ways of doing things, leading to better problem-solving skills.
  • Increased adaptability: Creativity and innovation involve being open to change and taking risks. This mindset builds adaptability skills, making it easier to navigate change in life and in business.
  • Heightened productivity: Innovation optimizes processes, making them more efficient and effective, leading to increased productivity.
  • Improved competitiveness: By being able to come up with new ideas and implement them, individuals and companies can stay ahead of the competition.
  • Higher job satisfaction: Being creative and innovative can help keep your work engaging and challenging, leading to higher job satisfaction.
Understanding the difference between creativity and innovation is crucial. Both are essential to each other, but they serve different stages in the problem-solving process. By fostering creativity and innovation in our personal and professional lives, we can enjoy a range of benefits that enhance our skills, productivity, and satisfaction.

Factors That Hinder Creativity And Innovation

Creative Roots: Cultivating A Thriving And Innovative Mindset

Developing a creative and innovative mindset is critical for personal growth and professional success. Successful individuals learn to break free from the limitations set by their environment and build a mindset that allows them to think outside the box. However, several factors can hinder creativity and innovation.
In this post, we'll discuss three primary hindrances and how to overcome them.

Fear Of Failure And Criticism

Fear of failure and criticism is one of the most significant blocks to innovation and creativity. The fear of criticism discourages individuals from expressing their ideas and fears of experiencing failure that prevents them from even trying. Overcoming this fear and doing things regardless of such concerns is critical for building a positive and innovative mindset.
  • Accept that mistakes are essential in the growth process and view them as lessons.
  • Embrace criticism and use it as a tool for growth and development.
  • Build your self-esteem and confidence by celebrating small victories along the way.

Lack Of Resources And Support

Limited resources can be a considerable hindrance to creativity and innovation. In business, an inadequate budget or not having proper equipment limits the capacity to research and implement specific ideas. Moreover, the lack of support from colleagues and superiors can demotivate and limit one's creativity.
  • Get creative and think of innovative ways to find solutions to your problems with minimal or no resources.
  • Look for mentors or people in your field who can provide guidance or support.
  • Seek out new social and professional networks to help you build your skills and confidence.

Narrow Mindset And Limited Perspective

Narrow-mindedness limits an individual's ability to pursue creative endeavors and approaches with an open mind. It limits the potential to think an innovative idea that could otherwise deliver significant outcomes. To break free from this mindset, individuals need to develop their perspective on life and other people.
  • Be open to new experiences, ideas, and perspectives.
  • Engage with people who have different viewpoints and learn from them.
  • Do not limit yourself to the status quo; dare to be different.
Cultivating a thriving and innovative mindset is essential to achieve success in various areas of life. Unfortunately, several hindrances can stunt one's progress, such as fear of failure, lack of resources, and narrow-mindedness. However, implementing the steps outlined above can help individuals break free from such limitations.

Techniques For Cultivating A Creative Roots Mindset

Creative Roots: Cultivating A Thriving And Innovative Mindset

Are you looking to bring innovation and creativity into your personal or professional life? Cultivating a mindset that encourages and supports creativity is a great way to achieve this. We will explore some techniques for cultivating a creative roots mindset.

Embrace Curiosity And Experimentation

To cultivate curiosity and experimentation, you can take the following steps:
  • Question existing methods: Do not assume that existing methods are the only way to approach a task. Challenge yourself and others to find new ways of thinking and doing things.
  • Try new things: Always try new experiences and explore what the world has to offer. This could mean trying a new hobby, a new cuisine or talking to someone who works in a different industry.
  • Embrace your inner child: Children are naturally curious and experimental. Take inspiration from them and learn to see the world with fresh eyes.

Practice Mindfulness And Self-Reflection

Self-reflection and mindfulness can help you maintain a sense of balance and perspective in your everyday life. To practice mindfulness and self-reflection, you can take the following steps:
  • Meditate: Set aside sometime each day to meditate. You can use phone apps, youtube videos, or books to guide you.
  • Keep a journal: Writing down your thoughts and feelings can help you process them and gain insights into yourself.
  • Pause and reflect: Take a few moments throughout the day to pause and reflect on your interactions and actions.

Encourage A Growth Mindset And Continuous Learning

Having a growth mindset and being open to continuous learning can help you approach challenges and opportunities with a positive attitude. To encourage a growth mindset and continuous learning, you can take the following steps:
  • Learn something new: Take an online course, read a book, or attend a workshop on a topic that interests you.
  • Seek feedback: Ask others to provide feedback on your work and use it to improve.
  • Embrace failure: Use failures as an opportunity to learn and grow.

Foster A Supportive And Diverse Community

Surrounding yourself with a diverse and supportive community can help you feel inspired and encouraged in your personal and professional life. To foster a supportive and diverse community, you can take the following steps:
  • Attend networking events: Attend events, virtual or in-person, to meet people in your industry or with similar interests.
  • Join a club or group: Join a book club, a running club, or a meetup group in your area.
  • Build relationships: Reach out to individuals in your community and take the time to build relationships with them.
By embracing curiosity and experimentation, practicing mindfulness and self-reflection, encouraging a growth mindset and continuous learning, and fostering a supportive and diverse community, you can cultivate a creative roots mindset that values innovation and creativity.

Applying A Creative Roots Mindset In Personal And Professional Settings

Cultivating a creative roots mindset can help you enhance your creativity, solve problems, and implement innovative ideas.

Creativity And Innovation In The Workplace

In today's fast-paced world, creativity and innovation are more critical than ever in the workplace. Here are some key points to consider:
  • Sharing ideas and brainstorming with colleagues can lead to unique and innovative concepts.
  • Encouraging experimentation and taking calculated risks can result in groundbreaking developments.
  • Developing a diverse and inclusive workplace fosters creativity and innovation by offering fresh perspectives and ideas.

Creative Problem-Solving In Everyday Life

Creative problem-solving is an essential skill that can be developed by anyone and applied everywhere, not just in the workplace. Here are some ways to do it:
  • Identify the root cause of the problem, brainstorm multiple solutions, and choose the best one.
  • Think outside the box and consider unconventional approaches to solving everyday challenges.
  • Reframe the situation as a challenge or opportunity to think creatively.

Developing And Implementing Innovative Ideas

Developing and implementing innovative ideas requires a creative roots mindset. Here are some key points to consider:
  • Start with a clear goal and a dedicated team, including diverse perspectives and expertise.
  • Identify gaps or areas for improvement in existing processes or products.
  • Focus on continuous learning and feedback to refine and improve the innovation.
Applying a creative roots mindset can lead to enhanced creativity, innovative thinking, and improved problem-solving skills, both in personal and professional settings.
In essence, creative rootsis a heartwarming initiative to promote creativity among children, giving them a platform to showcase their unique talents, be it in music, art, or literature. It is not only about nurturing budding artists but about creating an inclusive community where children from all backgrounds are welcomed and encouraged to express themselves.
The judges' panel comprising established authors and artists promises to provide constructive feedback to each participant, which is a valuable learning experience in itself. Creative roots have gained a lot of support and popularity in recent times, and for good reason.
It strikes a balance between promoting creativity and education, which is crucial to holistic development. Initiatives like creative roots serve as reminders that creativity is not confined to a select few, but is innate in all of us, waiting to be unleashed with the right encouragement and opportunities.

2023.05.29 06:43 Secret_Progress_6693 Needed to get this off of my chest - sorry so long

It’s had been raining single APs and I generally stay away. I was out on the other side of the tracks for happy hour and one lady in particular caught my eye. She was being a little flirty but I was warned by her friends that she has the nickname “queen of hearts” because she has been known to break them. I quickly responded that she cant break a man who learned to heal himself. I bought the queen a drink and we started chatting. It happens that we work in the same industry. She asked why I was by myself and I told her that my wife does not leave the house with me. She seemed surprised, “you’re married and don’t wear a ring.” I joked that I was married but it was not a serious relationship. She was embarrassed by what her friends told me. She said that she has the ability to tune off her feelings so some people mistake her for being cold. This was all music to my ears. I told her that I enjoyed our conversation and would love for it continue over dinner. She agreed and we had a wonderful dinner, we had so much in common. She asked about my SO I explained that my circumstances could not change for reasons I did not wish to discuss. She respected my wishes I walked her home and we kissed. She invited me in and it was passionate.
During our next meeting we discussed what we wanted and expected. We came to this agreement, while we are together we are a couple but once I leave we go about our separate lives and neither of us will ask. This was perfect. We went out on dates and did fun things like teenagers. When I left it was like climbing out of the magic garden only to return in a week.
Slowly the lines were getting blurred. I was not feeling well so she had chicken soup delivered to my office. She was really upset that she did not get promoted, she deserved it, so I met her for lunch and offered a hug and ear for her to vent. Our dates were becoming very intimate. I had a chef cook us dinner and we held hands under the table the entire time while the chef was telling us how the food was prepared. At the end of every date, I could see the sorrow in her eye and her good bye hugs always lasted a little longer. I would quickly return a few minutes after leaving for one more kiss good night.
She would delay making plans with her friends until she knew what I was doing. She was hoping I would say that I was free and we could meet. More than a few times she was stuck at home because I was not certain that I could get out. I always encouraged her to go out but her response was always, how can I meet anyone if I measure them against you. I explained to her that she only sees the best of me and none of bad parts. On the phone those three dreaded words were said, I love you. I responded and it made me feel really guilty for her. I could not allow this to continue. I could not string her along with the hopes that somehow we could be more.
I told her so and it did not go well. I told her that I can live with the pain I will have caused myself but I don't want to cause her any pain. I told that she is a wonderful person and needs to find someone who can love her 24/7. She got really angry and that I should not tell her what she needs. She knows what she needs and it was me.
We now have not spoken for two weeks and I really miss her. I know I made the right decision which helps ease the pain but I just want to make sure she is okay.

2023.05.29 06:43 CrematedDogWalkers How do I get my friend to file a report

How do I get my friend to file a report
My friend (f16) met a guy online (m18?) When she was 15. He manipulated her and when she moved away from me he made her go minimal contact with everyone.
He found out that she has a bf, and he's blackmailing her with nudes. He deleted his location which means he's suspicious, and I don't know what he's capable of.
He has both our full names and info, and I'm trying to protect us. I didn't know about this until today qhen she broke down to me about it, and told me why she cut me off. We were so close before she moved. He knows about me and messaged me on messenger, meaning he has my info and the info of everyone I know.
I sat there while they called and watched him gaslight her, and guilt trip her and if was so fucking pathetic. He tried the same shit on me but I was abused as a kid so I didn't take his bullshit.
We have bus full name (maybe fake), address (100% real), and face (100% real). He lives 2 states away and I'm not sure if he has connects here but I don't want any chances.
The only problem is she doesn't want to tell her mom. He messaged her mom on messenger but she's asleep and can't read it yet. How do I get her to tell her mom and file a report? because I want to keep both of us safe.
I know people with firearms who wouldn't mind helping me out if he pulled anything but they're 2 hours away because I'm not home, I'm at her house. I've been sitting on this for a few hours and I need some advice.

2023.05.29 06:42 Aimless_Angler27 27 [M4F] - If you're introverted, warmhearted, into nerdy things and miss having more friends, it's likely we're 99% alike already!

😌✌️ ABOUT ME: - M27 - Japanese descent, living in South America - Libra - ISFJ - Introverted at first - Talkative once the friendship evolves - Nerdy and geek - Multifandoms - Cinephile - Animation lover (Disney, Ghibli...) - Both a dog and a cat person - Good listener and advice-giver - LGBTQ+ friendly and supporter
🧐🔍 WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR: - A like-minded friend, around my age (23-33yo), for a wholesome platonic FRIENDSHIP! I'm engaged IRL so I don't mind whether you're single or also in a relationship, since I'm genuinely only looking for friends. - I tend to create stronger bonds with women friends for some reason, I guess because my hobbies and tastes are not the tipically masculine ones... - It matters not what your country is, nor what your main language is, as long as you can write and read english, of course. - It matters not what you look like, or even your religion, beliefs or your orientation. I'm super open-minded and I'll talk to you the same way I'd talk to any human.
🤓📱 CONTACT METHOD: - Reddit's DM - If our trust develop in time, I'll be happy to reach out via other social media (like Insta) or messaging Apps (Tele, Whats). - I love both texting and receiving/sending voice notes, if you prefer that over typing. - However, I'm not into voice-chatting at all, because English is not my main language - so I suck at both speaking and listening to it at a quickly pace - and I share the house with my in-laws who are really nosy. - I'm not online during 100% of the day, and naturally I don't expect you to be either. We all have our real lives and stuff to attend to, after all. But I'll always try to message whenever I can, I don't ghost people on purpose (unless there's something really creepy/suspicious in your profile that drives me away).
💬✅️ TOPICS I'M SUPERB AT TALKING ABOUT: all things geek and nerdy, movies (comedy, sci-fi and fantasy), TV series, collections, Marvel, Star Wars, RPG, all things Nintendo (Pokémon, Mario, Zelda), cosplay, family and relationship challenges, advice giving, science, art, painting, drawing, photography, books, pets, doggos, traveling, animation, all things Disney/Pixar, cooking, baking, recipes, DIYs, home decor, skin care, music, history, biology, introvertness, fashion, astrology, crystals, or even more deep 'n philosophical convos.
💬❌️ TOPICS I'M NOT THE BEST AT TALKING ABOUT: soccer and other team-based and televisioned sports, drinking and smoking, cars (my knowledge on them is limited to driving them, haha!), US or Europe specific politics/economics (since I'm south american), and online gaming (I know barely anything lanched post-2014, I'm more of a gameplay watcher and a retro gamer, but if you're passionate about it I'll love listening to your stories and preferences!).
I was never surrounded by a huge amount of friends growing up. I guess I was always the "quality over quantity" guy. After high school and college, my few important friends scattered around different cities and countries, so I ended up friendless... After the pandemics, I felt people built a huge stone wall around themselves: they're harder to befriend, harder to talk to, struggle more to open themselves, and so on... So I had no luck on meeting new friends from 2020 till 2023. Is Reddit gonna be my last-resort solution? Do you feel we'll have a good connection? Then DM me like we're already best friends!

2023.05.29 06:42 ThrowRA-obsessively My (26F) fiancé’s (30M) obsessive compulsive tendencies are driving me insane

My fiancé was diagnosed with OCD as a teenager. He had the classic “I need to turn this light on and off 6 times” or “I need to wash my hands 3 times” symptoms. But he went to therapy and with some time, he no longer deals with that. From what I understand, he no longer meets criteria for an OCD diagnosis. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t deal with obsessively compulsive symptoms still.
This obsessiveness comes out the worst with travel. He recently had international travel for work and from the day he heard he was going on this trip to when he was on the plane taking off to return home, he would not stop talking about upgrading to business class. His job only permits flying economy so he would have to use his own money to bid on an upgrade. Now it would have been one thing if he was talking about it casually or because he was excited that he might upgrade, but no that wasn’t it. He spent every night checking the flight to see how many business class seats were left. He would get enraged when he saw one was booked. He couldn’t stop. He would talk about it for hours everyday. And then when he couldn’t get upgraded on the day he lost it. Fully lost it. He called me screaming about how he has to be in business class, about how he was told he could upgrade and now everyone is a liar, he was inconsolable.
This sort of behavior has bled into our own personal travel too. We recently took a trip and he was obsessed with not putting a backpack under his seat during the flight. He couldn’t handle it. He wanted to check his carryon so he could put his backpack overhead. Was it over the top and extra? Sure but whatever if that makes things easier for him then great. We make good money so he can pay to check a bag. But then he got it into his head that the flight attendant would tell him he can’t have a backpack in the overhead compartment because the plane is full so he’d have to put it under the seat anyways. So he wanted to check his backpack instead of his suitcase. Ok fine go check the backpack. Nope still didn’t work for him. Because if there’s no space on the plane they will gate check his bag or it will end up on the back of the plane and it’ll be hard to get to. So I told him to check everything and he wouldn’t in case everything got lost. He had this argument for almost 4 hours a day for over a month. This moment peaked when I finally got him to commit to one plan and pack accordingly. Then I went to bed the day before our flight and when I woke up he had repacked everything into new suitcases and suddenly we had 2 extra suitcases he expected us to drag around.
There’s other things too. He gets obsessed over fire alarms. He feels that he should be warned prior to every fire alarm. And when he isn’t warned, he freaks. And if he is warned but it doesn’t go exactly on time, he freaks.
I’m trying to be considerate and understanding but it’s affecting me now. I can’t live like this. I want to tell him I won’t travel with him again until he manages these problems. How do I show him just how much this is affecting me? And how do I explain I can’t travel with him until he improves?

2023.05.29 06:42 ismellyourfishstank Tuna fish talking about Rocky’s tat

Tell me why I popped into her live while on break and she was talking about Jacob’s chest tattoo and how he needs to cover it. She then proceeded to say something along the lines of “don’t get a face portrait”. First off tunajina you have no business talking about anyone’s tattoo have you seen yours?! Secondly I actually admire Rocky’s tat. (Definitely an opinion of mine that not everyone agrees with lol). As someone who lost someone very important in my life I would love to find someone who could tat my grandfather and I fishing off the boat. One thing about tattoos I love is the ones with amazing story’s behind. Now tunajina if Jacob wants to go out and get a portrait on his chest he can. That’s his body you can’t control what he does or doesn’t do. Maybe he wants his son on him would you really say no?!

2023.05.29 06:41 yanklover Would appreciate if someone can respond to my post. I’m suffering really badly and I’m desperate for opinions.

Hi everyone,
I’m posting here because I have a ton of health issues already and having these IC issues are enough to throw me over the edge. I currently am dealing with IC/pelvic floor dysfunction, GERD, Pancreatic insufficiency, IBS, Dysphagia, Anemia, Blood sugar issues, and more.
I’m only 23 years old and I suffer daily. I don’t know how I even am alive dealing with these problems to be honest. I’m scared for my future ahead because of how severely I suffer daily.
Anyways I’m here for my IC problem and hope someone can help or make me feel better. Back 3 years ago, I went swimming in a lake and ended up with a UTI infection. I was on the antibiotics and felt better after a week or so. Thankfully I was fine. Not even a year later I got another UTI and this time It was different. After the antibiotics I noticed some bladder issues and stuff like that. This was before all my other health issues came along. After some time, the symptoms would go away after a few weeks. I again got another UTI after and the same happened but then I felt better and I was fine for an entire year.
Recently (about 6 weeks ago), I got a random UTI again. Went on antibiotics, went away instantly but then was left with IC symptoms bad this time. One week I’ll have IC symptoms, the next I won’t. It’s so weird. I’ll be normal for a few days and then the next few days my balder is killing me and all I wanna do is pee constantly. I get burning as well. I been working with a urologist on this issue but I started pelvic floor therapy and so far it’s not helping. I know It may take some time but I’m so scared that this is something I will have to live with forever and that it’ll never go away.
The weird thing is I never get IC symptoms until after I get a UTI infection. I can be fine for years as long as I don’t get a UTI infection. It’s so weird but I’m scared this time that this whole IC thing is here to stay and I’ll deal with flare ups forever.
I currently am doing the PT, and taking D-mannose, but does anyone know if this is definitely sounding like IC? My urologist said to me it’s mostly pelvic floor dysfunction but I have to wait to see her in 4 weeks for a follow up to see any next steps.
Overall I just suffer so badly on a daily basis with all my medical issues so I would appreciate if anyone can recommend anything to me or share what’s helped them or if my issues sound like theirs?
(By the way I eat very basic and clean because of my stomach issues, I eat a pretty alkaline diet. I don’t notice any change in symptoms with diet for my self. )

2023.05.29 06:41 -AmTeC- My trusty 1982 Keeprite A/C unit has lost its R22 charge twice in 10 months, help me understand what may have killed it!

https://imgur.com/a/xqnclfl
Hey everyone, my old reliable air conditioner which I love to bits has unfortunately developed a rather fast leak in an unknown location, and with R22 prices these days, unfortunately I don't think the old girl will live to see the milestone of 50 years. I'm almost certain this won't be worth fixing much to my sadness.
I'm hoping I can get some insight as to what may have went wrong with it, as I have a few suspicions, but no concrete answers.
Here's a little background on when the issue started: a couple years ago, some morons were hired to lay concrete along the backyard by my parents who didn't know any better, and the pathway to the backyard where the condenser sits was also due to be paved. Instead of asking us what to do about the condenser that was still charged and hooked up, it seems that they lifted the unit off the ground with something which certainly must have strained those refrigerant lines quite a bit, and laid concrete underneath the unit, and around the refrigerant lines, permanently entombing them. The condenser was then dropped back down before the concrete was fully dried, which caused wet concrete to ooze in through the water drainage holes and dry up, totally clogging them. I managed to chip it away enough to allow proper drainage after discovering it during routine maintenance, luckily before things started to rust.
Following this, the air-conditioner seemed to cool less and less effectively every year, until it was unable to provide any cooling at all. A HVAC tech was called in, he was paid $400 to charge it up with R22 and some kind of stopleak or something, I am aware stopleak pretty much never works but I wasn't the one at home at the time.
Fast forward almost a year later and it's not cooling at all again, clearly the leak has gotten faster. What could it be? I maintain this system meticulously and from what I see, the evap and condenser coils have little to no significant corrosion, the lines themselves appear to be solid and free of any obvious damage. One theory I've heard is that water is seeping in-between the concrete and the refrigerant lines, and freezing during the winter, causing more and more damage to the lines each year where it can't be seen. How plausible is this theory?
Anyways I guess it's probably time to say goodbye, I'll miss the sweet sound of the reciprocating compressor quietly singing on a hot summer day. The build quality of these things is truly something to behold, and I'd personally rather pay a bit more on the power bill than have something more efficient that has a potentially higher chance for failure.

2023.05.29 06:41 timchequea Is there any way to open the eyes/mind of a dear female who was abused by her narcissistic mother and suicidal twin sister?

This female is my ex wife. (30F)She was a great and functional partner for 5 years. We had our ups and downs and always found a way to communicate our hurt and feelings in a healthy way to keep going and make the best out of life. We went through a lot of significant and crucial events together. Long story short she got emotionally closer to her nuclear family, composed of her mom and twin, and she literally spiralled out of control until I had to ask for a divorce. I've been divorced for a year and a half and I am independent and self reliant. Have never struggled with loneliness. I've told her like 4 or 5 times already how dangerous it is for her to keep these individuals close to her and I see that she tries her best to snap out of it but can't. She has tried books, yoga, retreats and she keeps falling back into it. She's currently studying psychology, I think as a desperate attempt to figure herself and her family out. I know it's impossible to help people who don't want to be helped but Would you say she's truly beyond help? The reason why I've felt impotent even before the divorce and up until now is because I know that she is fully capable of snapping out of the toxic circle and live a healthy prosperous life cause she's done it with me. Any insight is appreciated. Thank you for reading.

2023.05.29 06:41 JoshAsdvgi THE BEAR AND THE RABBIT HUNT BUFFALO

THE BEAR AND THE RABBIT HUNT BUFFALO

THE BEAR AND THE RABBIT HUNT BUFFALO
Once upon a time there lived as neighbors, a bear and a rabbit.
The rabbit was a good shot, and the bear being very clumsy could not use the arrow to good advantage.
The bear was very unkind to the rabbit.
Every morning, the bear would call over to the rabbit and say:
"Take your bow and arrows and come with me to the other side of the hill.
A large herd of buffalo are grazing there, and I want you to shoot some of them for me, as my children are crying for meat."
The rabbit, fearing to arouse the bear's anger by refusing, consented, and went with the bear, and shot enough buffalo to satisfy the hungry family.
Indeed, he shot and killed so many that there was lots of meat left after the bear and his family had loaded themselves, and packed all they could carry home.
The bear being very gluttonous, and not wanting the rabbit to get any of the meat, said: "Rabbit, you come along home with us and we will return and get the remainder of the meat."
The poor rabbit could not even taste the blood from the butchering, as the bear would throw earth on the blood and dry it up.
Poor Rabbit would have to go home hungry after his hard day's work.
The bear was the father of five children.
The youngest boy was very kind to the rabbit.
The mother bear, knowing that her youngest was a very hearty eater, always gave him an extra large piece of meat.
What the baby bear did not eat, he would take outside with him and pretend to play ball with it, kicking it toward the rabbit's house, and when he got close to the door he would give the meat such a great kick, that it would fly into the rabbit's house, and in this way poor Rabbit would get his meal unknown to the papa bear.
Baby bear never forgot his friend Rabbit.
Papa bear often wondered why his baby would go outside after each meal.
He grew suspicious and asked the baby where he had been.
"Oh, I always play ball outside, around the house, and when I get tired playing I eat up my meat ball and then come in."
The baby bear was too cunning to let papa bear know that he was keeping his friend rabbit from starving to death.
Nevertheless, papa bear suspected baby and said:
"Baby, I think you go over to the rabbit's after every meal."
The four older brothers were very handsome, but baby bear was a little puny fellow, whose coat couldn't keep out much cold, as it was short and shaggy, and of a dirty brown color. The three older brothers were very unkind to baby bear, but the fourth one always took baby's part, and was always kind to his baby brother.
Rabbit was getting tired of being ordered and bullied around by papa bear.
He puzzled his brain to scheme some way of getting even with Mr. Bear for abusing him so much.
He studied all night long, but no scheme worth trying presented itself.
Early one morning Mr. Bear presented himself at Rabbit's door.
"Say, Rabbit, my meat is all used up, and there is a fine herd of buffalo grazing on the hillside.
Get your bow and arrows and come with me.
I want you to shoot some of them for me."
"Very well," said Rabbit, and he went and killed six buffalo for Bear.
Bear got busy butchering and poor Rabbit, thinking he would get a chance to lick up one mouthful of blood, stayed very close to the bear while he was cutting up the meat.
The bear was very watchful lest the rabbit get something to eat.
Despite bear's watchfulness, a small clot of blood rolled past and behind the bear's feet.
At once Rabbit seized the clot and hid it in his bosom.
By the time Rabbit got home, the blood clot was hardened from the warmth of his body, so, being hungry, it put Mr. Rabbit out of sorts to think that after all his trouble he could not eat the blood.
Very badly disappointed, he lay down on his floor and gazed up into the chimney hole. Disgusted with the way things had turned out, he grabbed up the blood clot and threw it up through the hole.
Scarcely had it hit the ground when he heard the voice of a baby crying, "Ate! Ate!" (father, father).
He went outside and there he found a big baby boy.
He took the baby into his house and threw him out through the hole again.
This time the boy was large enough to say "Ate, Ate, he-cun-sin-lo." (Father, father, don't do that).
But nevertheless, he threw him up and out again.
On going out the third time, there stood a handsome youth smiling at him.
Rabbit at once adopted the youth and took him into his house, seating him in the seat of honor (which is directly opposite the entrance), and saying: "My son, I want you to be a good, honest, straightforward man. Now, I have in my possession a fine outfit, and you, my son, shall wear it."
Suiting his action to his words, he drew out a bag from a hollow tree and on opening it, drew out a fine buckskin shirt (tanned white as snow), worked with porcupine quills.
Also a pair of red leggings worked with beads.
Moccasins worked with colored hair.
A fine otter skin robe.
White weasel skins to intertwine with his beautiful long black locks.
A magnificent center eagle feather.
A rawhide covered bow, accompanied by a quiver full of flint arrowheads.
The rabbit, having dressed his son in all the latest finery, sat back and gazed long and lovingly at his handsome son.
Instinctively Rabbit felt that his son had been sent him for the purpose of being instrumental in the downfall of Mr. Bear. Events will show.
The morning following the arrival of Rabbit's son, Mr. Bear again presents himself at the door, crying out: "You lazy, ugly rabbit, get up and come out here.
I want you to shoot some more buffalo for me."
"Who is this, who speaks so insultingly to you, father?" asked the son.
"It is a bear who lives near here, and makes me kill buffalo for his family, and he won't let me take even one little drop of blood from the killing, and consequently, my son, I have nothing in my house for you to eat."
The young man was anxious to meet Mr. Bear but Rabbit advised him to wait a little until he and Bear had gone to the hunt.
So the son obeyed, and when he thought it time that the killing was done, he started out and arrived on the scene just as Mr. Bear was about to proceed with his butchering.
Seeing a strange shadow on the ground beside him, Mr. Bear looked up and gazed into the fearless eyes of rabbit's handsome son.
"Who is this?" asked Mr. Bear of poor little Rabbit.
"I don't know," answered Rabbit.
"Who are you?" asked the bear of Rabbit's son.
"Where did you come from?"
The rabbit's son not replying, the bear spoke thus to him: "Get out of here, and get out quick, too."
At this speech the rabbit's son became angered, and fastened an arrow to his bow and drove the arrow through the bear's heart.
Then he turned on Mrs. Bear and served her likewise.
During the melee, Rabbit shouted: "My son, my son, don't kill the two youngest.
The baby has kept me from starving and the other one is good and kind to his baby brother."
So the three older brothers who were unkind to their baby brother met a similar fate to that of their selfish parents.
This (the story goes) is the reason that bears travel only in pairs.

2023.05.29 06:40 kdeddie My current Boyd theory

When we met Martin, he mentioned that you'll be afraid when the music stops. Now this isn't so much about the music but what the music meant to Martin. I think he unloaded his fear off on Boyd. He was afraid of the music, of the music box. The ballerina was in the music box.
I think Boyd was seeing visions of Martin's fears. And then he then unloads his fear onto the monster and then the monster took on Boyd's fear, maybe Martin's too. The monster was afraid after that, and other monsters may have eaten it. And it seems to confirm my belief that the monsters do on fact feed on people's fear especially after the monsters walked away from the guy living in the bus when he didn't appear to be afraid of them. (don't remember his name)
Then you got the party where Donna says that fear is something that lives inside us. Without fear, we wouldn't know how to be brave. Really hammering down the point that the fear is inside us. And people are always eaten alive to their cores as if that's where our fear resides?
I've got a couple more questions after this though. Did Boyd find a way defeat the monsters even though it's not easily replicable? Is he now fearless for transferring his fear to the monster?

2023.05.29 06:40 FAnjum1 Solo Bike Visit

Hey all,
I am thinking about visiting Toronto soon so just wanted some feedback from some locals.
I go on solo trips to different cities in North America. I’ve don’t almost all the cities on my goal list, next is either Philadelphia or Toronto.
I get to the city, get a hotel in the middle of downtown and rent a bike from a local shop.
While visiting, I just jump on my bike and just explore the entire city, no concrete plan just riding and learning about how different folks live in different places.
I like to get “lost” on my bike rides and just stop when something catches my eye. I really enjoy seeing talented street art.
I wanted to inquire about how Toronto Downtown and surrounding areas are, is it worth it to see, enough to do, how is the halal food scene?
I’m always careful about self preservation and security, but if you have any areas to avoid, that would help.
Toronto has always been on my list to visit, but just wanted to make sure it would be worth it for one of my solo bike trips.

2023.05.29 06:40 Jumpman78 Please help me, I need it.

Just wanted to get an idea of the difficulty of Laurier econ. I hear it is around the same as BBA for the first two years then is more math based. I'm wondering if its veryyy much math and difficult at that. I knew someone who was taking econ in the US a while ago and all he used to talk about was how every day was hell, that really scared me. I want a program that doesn't murder me and is somewhat light so I can still trade on the side and live life a bit. I love day trading and financial stuff (not crazily but I do like that type of stuff) and business in general. Wanted BBA the most but got econ. I also wanted to ask if the opportunities were similar and really good (wages range estimate would be nice) and if it is really in demand / not hell for a job search. Also, I got no co-op, but I heard you can only apply after 2 years and it doesn't matter, just wanted to confirm that. FYI: Between Laurier Econ, I am mainly debating with UOW geomatics with co-op (plan to take econ n society specialization) and Guelph marketing and management with co-op too. I know this is long and might not be easy to answer but I would appreciate some guidance so much. I tried so much to pick but I'm still pretty lost.

2023.05.29 06:40 LeutnantzurSeeFritz The Exploits of Irving Reese Part 29: It's a Wonderful Life

(You can also find this story, along with the previous parts here and here.)
A couple of months had passed since Halloween. The cool air of October gave way to the chill of November and December.
Before they knew it, Christmas had come. Enterprise and Irving were excited. It was Olin’s first Christmas, and their first Christmas as husband and wife.
Irving was busy helping Enterprise cook the Christmas feast. Yorktown II and Hornet II were already at their house, helping take care of Olin.
Hornet II smiled as she held Olin in her arms. “I can tell someone’s excited for their first Christmas.”
Olin giggled and cooed. Hornet II smiled.
The group heard a doorbell chime. Irving’s eyes went wide.
“I’ll get it.”
He opened the door to see Marsala, Vittorio Veneto, Littorio, and Fabio all at the door. Vittorio Veneto was holding Lucio’s carrier.
Irving smiled. “Merry Christmas, you guys.”
The group nodded and entered the house. Irving noticed Littorio and Vittorio Veneto placed the carriers next to Olin’s.
Irving smiled as he looked at Lucio. ”He’s so cute. He has his mother’s eyes.”
Vittorio Veneto giggled. “Yeah, but he got his father’s nose and dishwasher blonde hair.”
Enterprise leaned her head from the kitchen.
“Honey, I still need your help.”
Irving nodded and came back to the kitchen to help his wife. Vittorio Veneto was in the kitchen, helping Enterprise out, while Littorio was with Fabio and Marsala in the living room.
Enterprise smiled at Vittorio Veneto. “So, Vittorio, how did everything go with Lucio?”
Vittorio Veneto giggled. “It went well. All the walking I did on Halloween must have had a delayed effect, as I went into labor in afternoon on November 2nd. I first felt contractions during dinner, and I thought it was just bad gas or indigestion. My water broke while Marsala was taking a nap. ”
Vittorio Veneto looked at her husband and giggled.
“Oddly, Marsala was calm, as were Littorio, Fabio, Impero, Roma, and even little Maria. They drove me to the hospital. I thought Lucio was going to be quick, but he decided he wanted to take his time. Lucio Giancarlo Fasetti was born on November 3rd, at 12:01 AM. He took 9 hours and 27 minutes.”
Enterprise nodded as she listened to Vittorio Veneto’s story. “So you got a rule fallower like Joachim is to Bismarck?”
Vittorio Veneto nodded. “Yes. I have a feeling he, Louis, and Olin will get along well in the future.”
Enterprise looked at Irving and grinned. “Yeah, especially Louis and Lucio, as they have very similar-sounding names.”
Vittorio Veneto closed her eyes as she smiled and nodded. “I’ll be in the living room with my sister and the children if you need me.”
Soon, the doorbell chimed again. Littorio smiled as she got off the couch.
“I’ll get it!”
She smiled as she opened the door. “Ah, glad to see you could make it!”
Irving left the kitchen and walked to the front door. He smiled.
It was Fritz and Tirpitz. Bismarck and Heinz were behind them. All of their children had come with them.
Fritz smiled at Irving. He noticed Fritz was wearing his formal uniform, as was Heinz. Irving smiled.
“Glad to see you guys could make it!”
Fritz nodded as he sat on the couch. Soon, the doorbell chimed again. Fritz giggled as he got off the couch.
“I got it”
Fritz laughed and smiled.
“Ah, Herr Hall and Herr Jones! Glad to see you could make it!”
Malcolm and Oklahoma came inside, with Oklahoma holding Louis’s carrier. Samuel and New Jersey were with them.
Soon, everyone was at the party. Irving was busy slicing up the ham while Enterprise was getting the present wrapped up.
Suddenly, Irving heard a baby cry. He stopped what he was doing and checked on the children.
Both Louis and Olin were crying. Irving and Malcolm both looked at each other and sighed.
Irving held Olin in his arms. Malcolm was doing the same thing for Louis. Irving rocked him from side to side.
“It’s all right, little guy. Daddy’s here.”
Fritz smiled as he got up.
“Herr Reese, Let me try something.”
Irving nodded has he handed Olin to Fritz.
Fritz sat next to Tirpitz and held Olin. He smiled.
“Edelweiss, Edelweiss, every morning you greet me.”
“Strong and white, clean and bright. You look happy to meet me”
Olin stopped crying upon listening to Fritz’s soft singing. Soon, he giggled.
Tirpitz smiled. Irving's mouth was open. She looked at Irving with a slight smile.
“Heh. That song always calmed down Moritz and the others when they were babies.”
Fritz smiled as Tirpitz kissed him on the cheek. Fritz placed Olin back in his carrier. Bismarck giggled.
“Yeah. I remember you teaching me that song, sister. It was a great help with both Helga and Joachim.”
The group nodded. Littorio giggled.
“Mine was always Ave Maria. That always seemed to calm Maria down, and I told Vittorio Veneto about it as well.”
Enterprise smiled as she leaned her head from the kitchen.
“I’m sorry to interrupt, but the food is done.”
“I hope I’m not too late!”
The group turned to see Nevada at the front door, her jacket covered in snow. Oklahoma smiled.
“Your right on time, sis.”
“Can you do me a favor?”
Nevada nodded. “Sure. What do you need?”
“I need someone to set up the watch over the kids' table.”
Nevada nodded. “Sure. I got that covered.”
Nevada got to work, helping set up the small table. She smiled as she looked at the children.
“Hey, kiddos! Come get a seat!”
Moritz smiled as he gestured to his siblings and cousins to follow him. With the children seated, Irving got the food out on the dining room table.
Irving and Enterprise served the food. After a while, everyone got some food.
Fritz smiled as he ate some ham. “This ham is amazing, Irving. It tastes like something Gert would make.”
Irving was confused. “Who’s Gert?”
Fritz smiled. “Gert was our cook on a U-boat I served on back in the day. That son-of-a-”
A glare from Tirpitz stopped Fritz. She pointed at the nearby kids' table.
“Gun. Could cook the best food with nothing but some hot plates, an electric oven, and a dream. I wish you got to meet him.”
Irving nodded. “I know what you mean by that last part. I wish you got to meet my old squad leader, Robert. It sounds like you guys would’ve gotten along.”
Fritz nodded.
“It’s alright. Let’s not lament the past and try to look towards the future.”
Tirpitz placed her hand on Fritz’s lap. He smiled. Bismarck smirked.
“Spoken like a poet.”
Samuel giggled. “Ay, to our futures!”
Irving smirked at Samuel. “I didn’t think you would be the one to lead the toast. Guess there’s a first time for everything.”
The group laughed as they raised their glasses in the air.
“To our futures.”
The group clinked their glasses and ate. Nevada was hard at work watching over the children, making sure they were alright.
After they finished eating, the group made their way to the living room for presents.
However, before they could begin, the doorbell rang.
Irving got up to answer it. He opened the door.
It was the Commander. He smiled.
“I hope I’m not too late!”
Irving smiled. “Well, you missed dinner, but you came just in time for presents.”
The Commander nodded as he entered the door.
“Sorry, I’m late guys. I was at the Royal Navy’s Christmas party.”
The group nodded.
The Commander smiled. “Oh, I got these for some couples here.”
He reached into a tote bag.
The Commander handed a small cardboard box to Littorio and Fabio.
The couple opened it and gasped.
It was a Christmas ornament with Maria on it, saying “Maria’s first Christmas.”
Littorio gasped. “Thank you, Commander.”
The Commander nodded as he handed both Vittorio Veneto and Marsala and Enterprise and Irving a small cardboard box.
The two couples gasped as they opened it.
Inside were Christmas ornaments, similar to the ones Littorio and Fabio had received, but they were different.
Vittorio Veneto and Marsala got one that was Lucio, and it said, “Lucio’s first Christmas.” While Enterprise and Irving got one of Olin, that said “Olin’s first Christmas.”
The couple smiled at the Commander.
"Thank you, Commander."
Irving got up to place the ornament on the tree.
The Commander’s eyes went wide as he reached into his tote bag. “Okie, Malcolm, I nearly forgot. This is for you.”
The Commander handed them a small cardboard box. Oklahoma opened it and gasped.
It was an ornament with Louis on it, saying “Louis’s first Christmas.”
The Commander smiled. “I figured I would make it special and have you guys have two baby-themed ornaments.”
Oklahoma smiled as she hugged the Commander. “Thank you, Commander. That was really thoughtful.”
The Commander smiled as she placed the ornament on the tree, right next to the one she received last year.
Soon, the group unwrapped the gifts they got for each other. Irving got all the children a comic book, while Enterprise got every adult a Christmas sweater.
Everyone smiled at the gifts they received. Irving smiled.
“Personally, being with all of you guys, after the hectic year we had, is the best Christmas gift of all.”
The group nodded as the Commander sat up. He pulled out the bottle of scotch that he got from Irving last Christmas. It was three quarters full.
“Irving, I’ve yet to finish this bottle of scotch that you gave me last Christmas. Let’s say we finish it.”
Irving nodded and got out some shot glasses. Soon, Fritz, Heinz, Malcolm, and Samuel all had shots of scotch in their hands.
After a while, the bottle was empty. The men were having trouble standing after doing at least three shots of scotch between them.
Irving was sitting in a chair. Samuel giggled.
“I suppose I’ll give the Commander his present.”
He reached under the Christmas tree for a long cardboard box that said “To The Commander: From Sammy:”
The Commander opened the box with some help from Nevada. Inside was a bottle of whiskey. Samuel giggled.
“I suppose we make it a tradition. Every Christmas one of us gets the Commander a bottle of booze, and he’ll use it for toasts. If that bottle is not empty by the time the next Christmas comes around, we all drink it at Christmas and get him another.”
The Commander nodded. “Sounds like a good plan, Sammy.”
Samuel nodded. “I suppose I’ll let New Jersey tell you the next thing.”
New Jersey got up.
“Everyone.”
She pulled out a small box. The group raised their eyebrows at her.
New Jersey opened the box. Inside was a golden ring with a diamond on it.
“We’re engaged.”
Enterprise’s eyes went wide. She ran up to New Jersey and hugged her.
“Congrats NJ! That’s amazing news!”
New Jersey smiled. “I figured you would be excited about it, Enty. The wedding will be in May. I hope all of you will come to the wedding.”
The group nodded. Oklahoma smiled.
“I would not miss it for the world.”
New Jersey sat down at the table.
Enterprise looked at the men. She looked at Bismarck and Oklahoma.
“It’s clear none of them are in a state to drive. You guys feel like being drunk wranglers?”
Bismarck and Oklahoma nodded.
“Yeah. We just need help to move them into a room and a person to watch over them.”
Enterprise nodded as she looked at Nevada and Tirpitz.
“Nevada, Tirpitz, can you watch the children?”
Nevada and Tirpitz nodded.
Enterprise looked at Hornet II and Yorktown II.
"Can you guys set up some sleeping bags and cots for the men to sleep on in the living room? Everyone else can help me carry them to the living room."
Hornet II and Yorktown II nodded.
Soon, the other shipgirls carried the men into a room. Samuel groaned.
“Should old acquaintance be forgot?”
Bismarck sighed. “Great, one of them is singing. What should I do?”
Oklahoma sighed. “Just let him sing.”
Irving giggled.
"Clink. Clink. Another drink. Plenty in the cellar when it's gone."
Enterprise sighed as she placed her husband on his side on a sleeping bag.
Soon, all the men were on sleeping bags, cots, and blankets that were spread out on the living room floor. Vittorio Veneto and Littorio all got things for the men to vomit in.
Bismarck sighed. “Jesus. This is reminding me of Irving’s bachelor party.”
Oklahoma laughed. “Yeah. And this is also reminding me of Enterprise’s bachelorette party, with all of her group passing out on my living room floor.”
Enterprise giggled. “I remember you having to be the drunk wrangler, even though you were eight months pregnant.”
Oklahoma sighed. “That feels so long ago.”
Enterprise smiled. “A lot can happen in a year.”
Oklahoma nodded. Her eyes went wide.
“Enty, we have another problem. Where are the children going to sleep?”
Enterprise froze. She placed a finger on her chin.
Bismarck smiled. “They could sleep with us. Moritz, Max, Marlene, Helga, and Joachim are old enough.”
Enterprise nodded. “That only leaves Maria, Olin, Lucio, and Louis.”
Littorio raised her hand. “The babies can sleep in the nursery in their carriers.”
Enterprise nodded. “Sounds like a good plan.”
“Alright, so who will watch over the men, and who will watch over the babies?”
New Jersey and Vittorio Veneto raised their hands.
“I’ll watch over the men. Vittorio Veneto will watch over the babies. The rest of us will watch over each other and the children.”
Enterprise nodded. “Got it. I’ll be in the room with the girls and the older children.”
Soon, the shipgirls went to sleep. New Jersey was on the sofa, watching over the unconscious men as if they were 24K gold bars.
Enterprise got Vittorio Veneto a cot to sleep on, and she joined the other shipgirls. She had some cots, blankets, and sleeping bags set up for the group.
A few hours passed. Suddenly, the night calm broke.
“AHHHH!”
Enterprise and the others looked around. They could see Bismarck was sitting up.
“Bismarck! You alright?”
Bismarck looked down at herself and saw an odd light brown-shaped thing in her sleeping bag. She sighed.
“Relax. It's only Joachim. He scared me. He must have gotten cold and crawled into the sleeping bag with me.”
She sighed.
“Can’t believe I almost punted my son across the room.”
The group sighed. But this calm was only temporary, as all the babies wailed, one after the other.
Enterprise and Oklahoma got up to check on Vittorio Veneto and the babies. They saw Vittorio Veneto. Her eyes were wide as saucers as all four babies were crying. She looked at them and sighed.
“I think Bismarck’s screaming woke them up.”
Enterprise held Olin in her arms. Oklahoma did the same with Louis, and Vittorio Veneto held Lucio in her arms.
Littorio joined the group, holding Maria in her arms.
“Ave Maria, Vergin del ciel”
Maria stopped crying upon hearing her mother’s singing. The other babies also stopped crying.
Littorio smiled as, one by one, the babies went back to sleep. She giggled.
“Huh. I guess the babies like music.”
Enterprise smiled and placed Olin back in his crib. The other women did the same by placing their babies back into their carriers.
Enterprise made her way to the living room, where New Jersey was. New Jersey was sitting on the couch, trying not to fall asleep.
Enterprise smiled at her as she sat next to her. “It sounds like this Christmas is one we will never forget.”
New Jersey giggled. “Yeah, but we will have one hell of a mess to clean up in the morning.”
Enterprise nodded as she grabbed a plaid blanket. She saw Irving lying on his side and smiled. She lay down next to him and covered themselves with the blanket.
Soon, she fell asleep.

2023.05.29 06:40 CrematedDogWalkers How do I get my friend to file a report

2023.05.29 06:39 TheWorkAndTheFallacy How did you know when you were ready to graduate from PIMO to exmo?

Sundays are hard. Spouse and I have been PIMO for about 9 months now, and I don’t know how much longer I can keep going to church. I dread going, and have to constantly suppress the urge to run out of the building as I serve in the primary during 2nd hour. I’m sick of watching the indoctrination of friends’ children and my own, and teaching it to them myself when it’s my turn for the lesson (although I try to focus more on just being a decent human instead of the cringy stuff). Also, those primary songs are driving me crazy. My kids have their own doubts and I see the cracks in their shelves, and I know they’d also be out without much effort or deprogramming. I really want to free them before the heavy-hitting indoctrination starts. (We’re on the cusp of the YM/YW years).
However, what keeps us in is our extended family. Both our parents are super-TBM and may never recover if we tell them. And we have a few siblings who are just barely still in the church, but would also stop attending if we do. And we can’t just stop going and hide it, since we are in the same ward. We value our extended family relationships, and really don’t want to lose them, or have the children lose them. And these family members are the type that would cut off contact from us and our kids if we aren’t living the TBM life.
If you experienced anything similar, how did you know when you were ready to go exmo?

The judges' panel comprising established authors and artists promises to provide constructive feedback to each participant, which is a valuable learning experience in itself. Creative roots have gained a lot of support and popularity in recent times, and for good reason.

2023.05.29 06:39 LilStep17 I made a simple mistake and got towed and now they won’t give me my car back.

Ok so I recently moved in to a new apartment complex and to park here you have to register you’re vehicle w a third party parking service. When I was registering I was off by one letter on my plate so I thought it was correct but it wasn’t. So my car got towed. I was confused and had to go to the apartment office to find out which towing company because I don’t see any info posted in the lots.
My dad is the registered owner of the vehicle but I’m the one that drives it. The towing company requires a copy of registered owner license and a notarized letter authorizing release of the vehicle. This is all that’s required.
It’s the long weekend and the towing company is closed on weekends. He doesn’t live in my city but came down to get the letter notarized then left for weekend hotel reservations out of town w the rest of my family.
The employee in the office said he would not take my letter because it was notarized in my city and if the registered owner was here he could come and get the car himself. Frankly I think it’s none of their business where the owner is. If all they ask for is a letter notarized at it’s point of origin, which is what we did, I should be able to get my vehicle back. They charge over 200 a day for the impound at this point I’m gonna have to pay like 1000 to get my car back.
Do I have legal rights here? Should I call a lawyer? I know it was my mistake of incorrectly registering the plate but I don’t think the tow company has the right to not take my letter.
TLDR: tow company requires documents that I have and still won’t give me my car back.
