I'm 21F and in high school I was a burnout— I skipped 50% of my classes, I would show up high or I would drink in class. What my teachers didn't know was that I had a hard home life, I had been molested as a child and I came from a family of criminals and addicts. Nobody ever asked, they just assumed that I was a lazy kid without any aspirations.
Somehow I graduated high school and I enrolled in university. Nobody really believed in me when I decided I wanted to become a psychologist. When I was 18, I ended up sleeping with my high school student teacher who berated me and told me that I was too dumb to accomplish anything, and I shouldn't even bother with university.
University wasn't easy for me. I was living out of my car and at my boyfriend's for a while because my relationship with my mom fell apart. Then, I used to work 56 hours a week as a street outreach worker while being in school full time. I was repeatedly traumatized, I was assaulted by clients and I resuscitated people who were dead. I failed some university classes and excelled in others. I lost many friends to overdoses and suicides. Then, I lost my auntie to an overdose and we took in her kids, then my uncle to a homicide. On top of everything I was sexually assaulted, and somehow I was able to graduate.
Today, I am a BA psychology graduate and I'm working a full time job where I make more than I could have even dreamed. I'm supported at work, I have a steady relationship and I have a circle of good friends. On top of that, I'm advocating for my uncle who's murder was improperly investigated by the police.
Two years ago I wanted to kill myself because I was hopeless and desperate. Today, I have a purpose that I work towards every day. I have had a hard fucking life and every day I fight for a better one. Despite that, I still struggle with addiction ( I'm in recovery) and mental health issues. I don't know what the point of this post is. But I really hope someone who thinks their life is fucked up beyond saving can read this, and find some newfound hope. I understand how it feels when you feel like no one can understand what you're going through, believe me. I just want to let you know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Life goes on, and so will you <3

Today I was supposed to pick up my daughter. We made arrangemnets after false allegations of child abuse were made that I could finally see her after 2 weeks of my wife keeping her from me. She messaged me an hour before I was going to leave with a picture of a restraining order against me. She said if you want to get her you need to have someone else pick her up. So my exact words were "My parents will be there at the agreed upon time. This is the last time Ill contact you my mother will message you pertaining to our daughter." So my mother messaged her and told her she was on her way, and she agreed. When my parents got there they ( her AP/bf and mother ) were very pyschotic about the whole situation blaming or screaming about me for child and spousal abuse throughout our whole relationship, ( which is obv false as I have no police record whatsoever ) but did let my parents take my daughter. As they started to pull off she (wife) jumps on their car screaming dont take her or something like that (as i wasnt there). I told them to make a police report and show them the messages about how we agreed for our daughter to come with me for the weekend. The police made them give my daughter back to my wife, said they could press charges against my father for HER jumping on his vehicle, and even said she was the residential parent because she was the first to file (since I wont have the financal funds until Thursday for an attorney) for divorce. Im so devestated right now. All I wanted was to visit with my daughter even if it was for the weekend, to top it off my wife has our daughter calling her AP/BF daddy. Like how do I cope with that? There is severe alienation going on and I dont understand what I did to deserve this. I always put my children first. They are my life, and now I cant even see my child. How am I supposed to live my life knowing my child could possibly be taken forever? Ive never done anything to deserve this. I was a stay at home dad, i understand im probably terrible for that but we didnt need the money. I wanted our children to be with a parent and not a babysitter or even my wife's mother ( who is a terrible person with possible personality disorder) for 80-90% of the day. You guys I dont know what to do at this point. They are ruining my life and i cant do anything because I wont get my first paycheck until Thursday (which will be enough to retain an attorney).

Hi all, so as the title states, I need some help with a situation I'm unsure on how to proceed.

Some background: Today I matched with a lady on Tinder. The conversation was going well and there seemed to be mutual interest and chemistry. A few hours after texting she invited me out to go watch a rugby game with her and her best friend, to which I agreed. (they were going to support her best friend's boyfriend who was playing in said match).

The Meetup: We arranged a time to meet at the venue, and when I got there, we stood outside and had a cigarette while sussing each other out to make sure we're both who we say we are and to ensure we're both comfortable with each other. Once that was confirmed, we decided to head inside. This is where things started getting a bit weird. Before we decided to head inside, she tells me that I must know that there are three other guys (mutual friends of hers, her best friend, and boyfriend). To me this was a bit rude that she didn't initially tell me they were going to be there (I do know that it could be that they just showed up unannounced and she didn't know). I told her that I get slightly anxious meeting numerous new people in one go (more than 2 new people at a time), but I'm willing to face the situation and see how I feel. She told me that she doesn't mind if we meet up for coffee the next day (tomorrow) if I am going to be anxious, to which I replied "I'm here now, so I may as well face my perceived fear and see how it goes." We head inside and go to the table where everyone is sitting. I introduce myself and everyone seems friendly and welcoming. We sit down and chat for a while and I decide to head to the bar to grab myself a drink. As I mentioned that, the rugby game was about to start. We all agreed as a group that we'd wait for myself to return from the bar and we'd go to the field as a group. I head to the bar, order my drink, and upon returning to the table, I noticed everyone had left to go to the field. I didn't think much of it at first as I understand that they're there to support the boyfriend/friend playing in the match, but what left a bad taste in my mouth was that the lady I was there to meet didn't even bother to wait for me, or even let me know that they were heading to the field, she just left me. I message her asking where they are, and how do I get to them as it is my first time at the venue so I am a bit lost. She replied with "Oh I thought you used you getting a drink at the bar as an excuse to leave because you said you get anxious." I replied with "If i was going to leave, I'd say goodbye to everyone as I am not rude." Anyway, I find out where to go and make my way down to the field and regroup with all of them. I announce myself on arrival and the guys say hello, but the lady is having a fat conversation with her best friend and doesn't even acknowledge me. I landed up standing with the guys, having conversations about multiple topics while watching the game. After a while, I noticed that her best friend had left her, so I decided to go stand with her and spend some one-on-one time with her and actually get to know her a bit more. The conversation was good, jokes and laughs all around. Her best friend eventually came back and joined our conversation while we continued to watch the game. When the game ended, her best friend decided to go back into the clubhouse and grab a table for all of us to sit at. The lady just up and left me (once again) without any warning to go with her friend. I rejoined the group of guys and continued chatting with them as we all slowly made our way back to the club house a few minutes later. When we got to the entrance, two of the guys decided they were going to leave as they have an early start to their day tomorrow, so we said goodbye and off they went. The remaining guy said he was going to go to the restroom and will meet me back outside where I was standing. I decided to have a cigarette and after waiting for a while, he hadn't returned, so I headed inside and bumped into him on the stairs, to which he said he was going to be heading out to his car quickly. I continued upstairs and into the clubhouse to look for the lady and her best friend to see where they were sitting. I couldn't find them so I waited for a few minutes to see if they would walk in or if I'd spot them sitting somewhere, or if the other guy returns. After waiting for 15 minutes, I decided to up and leave and head home as I couldn't find them. Once I got home, nearly an hour had passed and I got a message from her asking where I had disappeared to.

She forgot to mention that other people ( 3 other guys who are mutual friends of hers, her best friend, and boyfriend) were joining (NB: I get anxious when meeting large groups of people (more than 2 people) for the first time). I meet the group and they seemed friendly and welcoming ( I got on well with the guys). During the evening, the lady I met up with just up and left me either alone, or with the group of guys, to follow her best friend around on two occasions. Eventually I left because the group of guys had left, and I couldn't find the lady and her best friend after they left the group for the last time. An hour after I had left, I got a message from her asking where I had disappeared to.
For me, some of the actions that took place this evening is a clear sign of disrespect in my eyes. If you're meeting someone for the first time, you don't just up and leave them by themselves, or with people they don't know, to go run off with your friend, and you don't forget to mention that three other people will be joining as well. Also, to only notice an hour later after disappearing with your friend to grab a table that the person you're meeting is no where to be seen just shows me that she wasn't that interested in meeting/getting to know me.
Now the help I am in need of is, how would I respond to her message asking where I disappeared to in a polite manner to say I didn't appreciate how I was treated this evening as I find it disrespectful to just leave someone you're meeting for the first time alone or with people they don't know? I don't want to just ghost her as I don't feel that is the right thing to do, and to make her aware of the actions she took.

DM has stated that they "anticipate" starting production in July. But I believe July will come and go and no production will happen. Why? Simple. Lack of headcount. Mullen reports that they have somewhere around 200 total employees on their payroll. Even DM alluded to this number in his recent "interview" with Cal from the Financial Journey. And there was no mention if that number would go up. If you look at any car manufacturer today, they employ thousands of workers just at their manufacturing plants. For perspective, lets look at three startups. Rivian has 14,000+ employees worldwide with around 7,000+ factory workers at their Norman IL plant. After recent lay offs, Lucid now employs around 6,000 people worldwide and around 1,000 at their Arizona manufacturing facility. And even Fisker who will have Magna Steyr in Austria manufacture their vehicles (at least initially) employs around 900 people worldwide, but 0 factory workers since it has no manufacturing plant. And I am not even going to mention Tesla.
Which brings us back to Mullen and their 200 employees. Based on Rivian and Lucid's (after layoffs) factory worker to total workforce ratios, Mullen would have anywhere between 32 and 100 factory workers. What kind of car production can at the most 100 workers perform. And is 200 total employees enough to support a fully blown car manufacturing operation. We are not talking about one of those Italian luxury car makers who custom make 1 car a week. Maybe the 100 workers will be re-working imported vehicles: perhaps some rebadging or do some minor assembly of pre-fabricated vehicle sections. Maybe Mullen went the Fisker asset-light route and contracted their manufacturing to a 3rd party. If none these two scenarios is the case, then I don't what kind of production DM and Mullen are talking about. If they haven't announce a partnership with a Chinese vehicle supplier or a partnership with car manufacturer by now, it's fair to assume that DM was talking about in house production.
I can only speculate, but I think that DM's idea of starting production in July is that they have managed to install some equipment and they are going to fire it off. They are going to push a few buttons here and there, toggle on some switches, walk around in hard hats and marvel at the newly installed equipment, run some tests, and then declare the factory operable even if not a single vehicle will roll off its assembly line for at least a couple of years or if ever. For that you do not need 100's or 1,000's of workers.
Turning the lights on in a factory is the easy part, producing an actual car will be the hard part. It will be time consuming and very, very, very costly. We are talking about billions of dollars. That is why I believe no vans or commercial vehicles will be rolling off the production line in July or August or 2023 or 2024 or even in 2025.

I'm a 28F currently dealing with a revenge obsessed ex-boyfriend (36M) who has been stalking me online for at least 2 years now and is hell bent on destroying my life. Basically I was his first GF in 7 years at the time and prior to the girl before me who cheated on him he claimed he never had a GF except girls who thought he looked like Harry Potter in middle school. He is 36 and doesn't have a lot of experience with women so the break up is apparently still difficult for him to process even though its 3 years later and we have not spoken except me asking him profusely to stop doing this stuff.
At the time we were dating a few years ago I was dealing with some identity issues during our relationship which I was honest with him about, (identified as bisexual at the time, but was questioning my sexuality). We had some disagreements about it and he would always ask why he couldn't stay over early on in the relationship (~1 month into it). I ended up breaking things off with him after roughly 4 months because I felt like we weren't compatible and also because I had lost my job at the time and was dealing with personal issues on the side (severely depressed, was in therapy for it).
We were friends for a short time after the breakup until things started getting VERY weird. He began circling the road next to my apartment several times per hour EVERY DAY. At the time I considered it strange but had a limited knowledge of technology other than basic CS classes I had taken in the past. The internet would randomly shut off for 30 mins - 1 hour for no reason. I would later find out in the logs the router was being hit with DOS attacks several times per day.
I would also see my documents on Google Drive opened by strange usernames of fake accounts, and eventually had a remote access trojan on my laptop after he sent me photos of us through Google Photos which I suspect he used to infect my computer. He would backspace while I typed, open and close windows, click random things on the screen, and straight up mess with me for several hours per day every day for MONTHS.
Then eventually the computer crashed and would never start again. It was a $1500 Macbook Pro. My new car also mysteriously got something poured in the fuel tank and after a few weeks and several hundreds of dollars of new parts no mechanic could fix the car. My apartment was broken into repeatedly with subtle signs of forced entry but nothing stolen. Examples: Pry marks on the inside of the front door, side door and back door, personal care items like body wash, underwear or bras stolen or moved, coming home to find personal documents like medical records, tax records, and bank info layed out on my bedroom floor shuffled around. I filed police reports each time it happened but couldn't prove it was him.
My car has also been broken into a few times now with my dashcam broken off the mount, hidden under the passenger seat, stick figures taking a dump drawn on my windshield, and nails in my back tire and spare tire. I believe he put a GPS tracker on the car because I have heard someone outside opening and closing the car door but nothing was stolen. So far no mechanic has been able to find a tracker and I couldn't either.
I had to stop using the wifi at my apartment because every device I use on that network gets hacked (multiple different laptops, 2 kindles, and 3 cell phones). I found a keylogger on my M1 Macbook Pro (~$2000) which he also placed persistent malware on and I can not get rid of despite wiping the hard drive 8 times since this January. He defaced my professional website I was trying to use to get a job twice (first time put a pic of nude child and set his hacker username as my bank account number, added a redirect link which I stupidly clicked on and then it downloaded some sort of spyware or RAT onto my device, 2nd time he put up 2 women doing the deed also nude).
He has had remote access to this computer for an unknown amount of time and I can not afford to replace it. My cell phone also booted up into safe mode the next morning and the background was changed on my work/school email account. I tried taking my computer to a repair shop and they claimed if he does have a RAT on it, it is likely hidden on the recovery partition and they weren't able to find it or get it off my computer. This is a $2000 M1 Mac and he already destroyed my previous Macbook Pro which cost me $1500.
I also had to buy a new cell phone after I kept getting creepy phone calls and phishing texts from unknown numbers. When he put the new keylogger on my computer recently I saw where he made a folder which he named the digits of my new phone number. I had just bought a brand new Samsung Galaxy and he already got the new phone number for it and hacked it. He kept enabled the camera and microphone and while I was eating turned on the camera and started recorded me while I was eating. I factory reset the phone and he was still able to control the camera and mic on it.
I have reported him to the FBI IC3 unit 6 times now in the last year and now he is getting cocky about it and knows he will get away with it so he keeps doing it. He knows I am broke with no money and can't afford a new computer, to move away, or to keep buying a new cell phone every month and he seems to get off on trying to destroy my whole life. I have not spoken to him in 3 years now and we do not talk at all. I sent him a FB message telling him to stop explaining to him I have been going through a lot since my sister died a few years ago and just want to be left alone. He keeps doing it and won't stop.
He also recruited my crush who I never mentioned to him to help him with the hacking (my crush is a system admin) and now my crush won't speak to me at all and hates my guts. I have no idea what he said to my crush or how he got them to come after me but they have been going full on nuclear and won't stop. I caught him staking me out a few days ago at the gas station across from a wifi hotspot I was using where he was just sitting there for an extended period of time watching me. Then when I started drive near him he inched his truck like he was thinking about if he was going to follow me or not. He also knows when I come and go at night and drives by my apartment minutes after I get home at different times.
This guy seems to think I owe him something and has a serious problem. He just keeps doing all this and will not stop. While I am not the type of person to do anything crazy back, the police have done nothing and in terms of the hacking there is not a lot they can do. What can I do to at least expose this guy. I don't think he is ever going to stop until he kills me and this has got to stop.

This literally just happened to me not more than 40 minutes ago.
Today, I'm having a bit of a crappy day but I'm trying to cope and feel better by being productive. So I'm off to my bank. It's my lucky day and they are open way late and I need to get some paperwork done ASAP.
I get to a street corner and I'm close the edge off to the side, making sure I'm not in the way of anyone who's using the side walk nor in standing in the way of anyone wanting to cross too. I've got some feel-good music pumping in my ears and I'm on my phone and not wholly paying attention, admittedly. But I know for a fact I'm not being a nuisance and not blocking anyone. I'm just tuning the world out while I wait for the light.
All of a sudden, I feel this bump on my leg. I turn around and there's this old lady with a dolly loaded with some bags, some empty water jugs (you know those big ones at water coolers?), and some other stuff. Can't remember what else, not important though. What is important is that this lady was standing there, staring expectantly at me.
I take a headphone out asking "Can I help you?"
Karen (word for word): "You should be careful and take your headphones out."
Me (thinking to myself): Okay, fair I guess? It's a sketchy-ish part of the neighborhood. Weird why she's pre-occupied with my safety though?
Me (out loud to Karen): "I'm fine. Thank you for the concern, but I can handle myself."
Karen interrupts me before I'm even done speaking and this is when I know she's a Karen.
Karen, visibly irritated: "Well, you can't hear anything! I tried so many times to get your attention and get you to move!"
Me: looking confusedly at the very wide expanse of sidewalk she still has available to her, easily double the width of her dolly. "Ma'am, you didn't have to bump me. You could have just gone around me." (Should note here that even if she had a problematic, hard to turn dolly, she had more than enough room to make a very wide turn without hitting me)
Karen: huffs "I didn't want to have to move around you!"
That did it. I snapped a bit.
Me: "So you thought to bother me? What the hell? Lady, you have so much space on the sidewalk!"
Karen, even more irate now: "Well, you couldn't hear anything!"
Me (in my head): No shit, it's because I don't want to interact with harpies like you
Thankfully the light changes and I just roll my eyes and walk off. I yell back over my shoulder "Lady, you have problems!"
She says something completely unintelligible at me and smoothly turns her dolly up the sidewalk. Like... What the actual hell? Definitely no problems turning. She could have saved both her and I the whole interaction.

i'm really bad at reading into social interactions and this is probably gonna be long so please bear with me 🙏🙏🙏
TLDR: i like a guy, he knows, we're not really friends?, since then we've gotten closer, shared looks, he makes sure i don't take anything the wrong way and doesn't hesitate to reassure me, ig he cares about me too?, we flirted, i'm confused wether i do or don't have a chance with him
so I've liked this guy for over half a year now. he's a classmate of mine but we never really talked before this school year. there was a huge event that we had to prepare for and i used that opportunity to talk to him. i always initiated the conversation (dms) and asked about his opinion on smth. we got put in the same team and our interactions started to rise there, i remember that after the first team meeting he dmed me that he was there for me if i ever needed help with coming up with stuff or giving his opinions, since i was an orginizator and no one else was really getting involved, yk. cute kind friendly gesture.
he knows that i have feelings for him, since i told him a few months ago. everything went smoothly, he told me that he had smth going on (an unfinished situationship basically) and that he wasn't the type to start new things while dealing with old ones. but that whole night i didn't hear a straight up "no" or any sort of rejection from him. ever since then we got closer. the atmosphere between us got lively and we started acknowledging eo more.
there have been a few get-togethers at clubs and we both went with our respective friend groups. i always leave him alone since i don't wanna be a bother, so interactions are at a minimal there, but for some reason, at the end of the night (or more like in the morning) he always stumbles over. he either comments on the event or says that he's going home, but after that he just stands there next to me. i feel like he's holding back from saying smth, i could be wrong, but it looks like he isn't saying everything that he wants to say. after these events, i always dm him to make sure he got home safe since unlike the rest of us he walks home alone. he does let me know and always thanks me in return + he adds the fact that i'm the only one who cares about him (that hits me in the feels every single time).
i once answered that with "of course i care about you", technically hinting at my feelings. he was more drunk than usual that night and didn't take that too well after he caught up. his response wasn't anything bad, i have a serious problem with overthinking and i just took it too personally. I started to feel like a nuisance and ig me swiftly wishing him a good night kind of showed it. he dmed me the next day, asking me if everything was okay between us. this was our first more serious conversation since my confession. i voiced out that i tend to blow things out of proportion and that i can just read the tone completely wrong and make myself feel like a burden. he heard me out and reassured me that i wasn't (he was the first to ever do that). i did also tell him to stop me from touching him next time, not in a perverted way, i just get touchy when i'm drunk and when he's around i just have to hold him by the shoulders or waist, he has such a pretty waist, moving on tho, i told him to stop me since i felt like he could be uncomfortable with it even tho he always lets me do it, he just answered with "why would i do that". he proceeded to reassure me once again that nothing i was doing or saying was bothering or annoying him in any way.
the last time we were at a bar, i got way too drunk, it was really embarrassing and thankfully i don't remember much, but i found out that he was there helping me even took me to my friend's car. later in the night he dmed me asking me if i was okay and that he's scared and worried about me. he even used my nickname, which he never did before. the whole night is kinda hazy, tho i remember that we shared a lot of looks and glances, that's like our thing for some reason, always catching the other one looking.
a few days ago, while i was at work, he dmed me himself. i'm not kidding when i say we texted the whole day. from 8am to 9pm we were on it. we talked about kinks. it was a civil convo, yk. i'm the type of person who has no problem with talking about sex and stuff so i was kinda in my element. we talked about his kinks mainly since i was really curious and wanted to know. he even got me to talk about my ideas about him, yk, like what i imagined him to act like in bed. it was interesting, really, i found out that we had a lot in common, but the most important part was that we flirted. my god. we actually did. there were little comments and teasing thrown in from time to time. the whole time i was sweating like crazy since i thought i fucked up after trying to flirt, only for him to catch on and do so himself. our convo ended on a more personal note, tho the flirting was the strongest at that time. the next day i got to talk to him about the personal stuff he dropped on me, only to find out that i, once again, took it too seriously and that in fact it wasn't that much of a big deal. he did understand that i was worried and reassured me that he was okay. me being kinda embarrassed about it, i told him that it's great hearing that and i wished him a good trip and that i wouldn't bother him anymore. (forgot to add: he's a passionate biker and he was away with his friends on a ride through the states at that time. he still is atm). he reassured me again, that i wasn't bothering him at all and told me to take everything nice and easy. we didn't talk since then at the time of me writing this since i fr don't wanna take his attention away from smth he loves so much.
i'm sorry if this was all a pain to read. no one has ever made sure that i didn't take things the wrong way so often. it almost seems like he can feel right through the screen that i'm panicking or feeling like shit. i hope you understand my confusion. ig he's just really kind and a pro at reading people. i'd really like to hear y'all's opinion tho. thank you to anyone who had taken the time to read this. <3

anyway, i said we would try again later out in the boonies of west michigan and i would update. we tried twice the day after, as one of our friends came out to fish his dad’s pond with us. one point was directly behind his neighbors house, on his extensive property. we decided to go look, as his neighbor has actually been in jail for the past year (u probably weren’t expecting that) so we weren’t too worried about trespassing because their hasn’t been a car in that drive way for SEVERAL months. we set our intention to ‘decomposing’ as knew our chances of finding an animal carcass were significantly higher than human considering how rural the area is. threw our mudding boots on as it had been raining the past couple of days, and took a walk. it was totally normal, buggy and very dense woods until we reached a somewhat of a clearing of reeds. we walked through the reeds as much as we could until we were hit with the smell of actual shit. like feces. along with the smell of something dead. keep in mind, we’re about half a mile directly behind the house of a convicted child predator. our friend we were with was the first to get spooked, which is funny because he’s this big, offensive line, 6’4, 200lbs guy. my boyfriend went a little further and he said the smell only got worse. the water collecting in the back was also pretty bad and we were getting eaten by mosquitoes even with extensive amounts of bug spray. so, we decided to just come to the conclusion of a dead coyote or something, and we turned back.
once we got back to his dad’s property we tried one more time. the app gave me the same point we had just been to, so we tried again. this time it gave us a point across the street from his dads house. the area across the street belongs to the state, and there will sometimes be cars parked out on the street for people setting up spots for whatever hunting season is next, or looking for morel mushrooms. this area is relatively dry, but we still kept the boots on. we walk across the street, and make it about a mile and a half out into the woods until we reach the point. once we get there we come across a very large, and very dead female deer. it didn’t look like it had been dead for very long, and there wasn’t much of a smell. we also didn’t see any entry or exit wounds of ammo which would’ve been weird anyway because deer season doesn’t start until mid november in michigan. we did see two very large slashes in its abdomen area though. slashes that were most definitely made with a man made object, no animal could have cut that deep into the deer, definitely not any animal native to the area. so we were a little baffled, but pleased to know that the app wasn’t bogus. we went and got my boyfriends dad and asked him what we should do, and he said there wasn’t much. since there weren’t exit or entry wounds DNR or whoever wouldn’t investigate for illegal off-season hunting. it was also pretty deep into the woods on state property that we just hope that either the coyotes will get to her, or she will naturally decompose.
that’s the last of the update. if any of you have any ideas as to what could’ve made those slashes, input would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, IMAM! Today I am reviewing fragrances purchased from Area of Effect and Possets. All are oil-based.
I haven’t included like & dislikes before in reviews, but I think I should start now, as it provides some context for how I approach scents.
Likes:
· Black licorice / aniseed
· Artemisia / wormwood, fennel, mint & associated “cool” herbs
· Citrus (including neroli)
· Most fruits (excluding those listed in dislikes), especially tropical ones and raspberries
· Cardamom
· Cinnamon & nutmeg
· Most woods & resins (excluding those listed in dislikes)
· “Green” profiles
· Rosemary, thyme & similar herbs (excluding those listed in dislikes)
· Most nuts (excluding those listed in dislikes)
· Coffee
· Marshmallow!
Patchouli is also a “like,” but my skin can amplify it to a ludicrous degree so I have to be careful.
Dislikes:
· Sandalwood (migraine trigger)
· Birch bark & leather / birch tar (allergic)
· Icing / buttercream
· Almond (includes most cherry accords)
· Honey
· Aldehydes (includes apples)
· Most florals
· “Powdery” scents and anything with a lipstick / cosmetic accord (this includes most ambers, in my experience)
· Cumin
· Black & Earl Grey tea (funnily enough, I prefer tea to coffee irl)
· Sage
· Papaya (had this go “sour” / rotten on me)
It is possible that benzoin might be another dislike, but I have to experiment more before I make a decision. And I try to be careful with musk, as some varieties can induce headaches.
While I chose the fragrances all based on notes, I make a point of not double-checking when I test, going in as blindly as possible. Now, on to the reviews!
Possets
“Priya” – lemon, cardamom, and vanilla
Prior to testing, I opened the FS bottle and then open for a few hours, in a method I’d read about on here for “accelerated aging.” In the past I’ve found that this helps to deepen a fragrance in a positive way. (The only bottles I can’t do this with are skinny wand vials – they’ll fall over.) This method even improved the sniff test! While initially it had smelled like a very clean lemon (perhaps too clean), afterward some tasteful hints of sugar came through.
When testing “Priya” on the skin, I was met with a true lemon sugar accord. In fact… I was reminded of pancakes. Or, at least, how pancakes are apparently served in Great Britain. For context: when I first heard of the 4160 Tuesdays perfume “Sunshine & Pancakes,” I was terribly confused by the notes list: lemon, orange, honey… no cake / pastry note, no maple syrup, what the heck was this? Then I learned that across the pond they’re often served with drizzled honey or sugar, and lemon squeezed on top. Anyway, the opening of “Priya” smells like what I imagine British pancakes to be.
With such a promising opening, I wish I could say that the sweetness deepened into something spicier / woodier, or even just carried through to the end. However, the lemon – which is a powerful lemon to hang on for so long – eventually became purer, and purer, until it started reminding me of household cleaner. Altogether, I think what ended up on my arm would make a heavenly room scent; but it’s not something I want on my skin.
Given that “Priya” is tied to a worthwhile charitable cause via Possets, I won’t destash the full bottle as-is. Instead, I’m going to decant it so people can sample it first (since samples of this aren’t sold separately), and if they like it then they can purchase the FS from Possets.
Rating: 3/5 – lemony fresh
“Pippin Pie” – The juiciest and most tart apples, the flakiest and most buttery pastry, heaps and heaps of sugar and a kiss of spice.
This was a surprise free sample in my order, and I went into this with some trepidation as apples and my skin don’t get along.
My first impression was that this was very savory. Like, Fyrinnae being weird kind of savory (think “Artisan Bakery”). Out of the bottle, those first sniffs gave me some pause! On the skin, though… that first half hour was the most delicious pie crust imaginable. I don’t normally go for scents that are that gourmand (usually too much for my nose), but this was where pies go to die. This was the Double-R in “Twin Peaks.”
After half an hour, though, it faded… and faded… until there was something so faint on my arm I could hardly tell if it genuinely approached apples or if it was just softly soapy. Two hours, and the scent was genuinely gone. I tested on each arm, separately, and confirmed this. My skin ate “Pippin Pie” up, sadly.
Rating: 3/5 – the pie did, in fact, die
“Bear Lake Shake-Utah” – a raspberry milkshake made with berries picked that day… amid the scent of the summer sun hitting the mountain lake, crystalline air, the milky raspberry shakes cooled and comforted them
I was so looking forward to this milkshake. Alas, this has made me discover I’m not much of a fan of lactonic notes. It’s hard for me to articulate how they’re separate from vanilla or coumarin, but “milk” is definitely different in perfume, and I don’t think I like it. In fact, I would go so far as to guess that it was lactonic notes I disliked in previous banana-oriented fragrances I tried, and not banana itself. I may need to try banana again.
The raspberry, as well, was not what I was looking for. Now, my favorite incarnation of raspberry in perfume so far is from a niche house: Svensk Parfym, “Virke” (means “timber” in Swedish). It smells like raspberries growing wild in the Swedish taiga, and it’s one of few EdPs I’d consider repurchasing, if I can’t find an indie raspberry to which I can declare loyalty. So far, my favorite indie has been Stone & Wit “Cipher,” which is a fresh, juicy, and not at all candied raspberry.
The raspberry here, however, is much more like a lollipop or Jolly Rancher than the fruit itself, which was disappointing.
Rating: 2/5 – not my kind of milkshake, I guess
Area of Effect
“Isabelle” – peach, black pepper, fresh cut grass, soft vanilla, dry wood, cedar
While I did not double-check the notes before testing, I recall that I’d purchased “Intelligence” and “Isabelle” together for comparison purposes as peach scents, since I was still on a quest to find my perfect peach.
After resting, “Isabelle” no longer smelled super traditional out of the vial, and I actually caught whiffs of peach. When I tested I smelled something cool and green under everything else, and I’m starting to think that is, in fact, Area of Effect’s base. (Yes, I know this has a “fresh cut grass” note, but I’ve smelled this nuance in other AoE scents I’ve tried.) The opening of this is an under-ripe peach, in fact, still on the branch. Eventually, this does get more “picnic grounds” than “picnic meal,” and isn’t very sweet.
For someone who enjoys softer scents, and wants something feminine that isn’t off-the-wall but also not super traditional / vintage, “Isabelle” could be a wonderful everyday / work scent. Sadly, it’s not what I’m looking for.
Rating: 3/5 – peach needs longer to ripen
“Intelligence” – peony, peach, coconut, olive leaf, cotton candy, vanilla bean
Of course, I tested “Intelligence” right after “Isabelle” so the comparison would be fresh in my mind. I must say, I was surprised at how strong the peach note was in this one, since my first impression had hinted it would be of the softer variety. Now, the peach wasn’t necessarily as juicy as I wanted (I’m starting to wonder if what I want is even possible in a perfume: a juicy, realistic, not-too-sweet peach that doesn’t fade right away), but here was a peach note that was sticking around! And the way it settled wasn’t too heavily gourmand, either: peach still wafted up from my arm, but sniffing closer to my skin I found a lovely coconut with just a sprinkling of tiaré petals (not full-on monoi oil).
Looking at the notes, I’m curious about what I don’t get on my skin. I didn’t smell peony at all, nor cotton candy; and what little vanilla was there, was quiet. (I think the olive leaf was what I mistook for tiaré.) This wasn’t nearly as sweet on my skin as what the notes list would suggest, and I’m actually grateful.
I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised that I enjoyed “Intelligence” so much, as that’s usually my highest DnD stat (magic-user). 😊
Rating: 4.5/5 – For the time being, I really think that I’ve found my peach scent!
“K.K. Slider” – coconut cream, rum, pineapple, chai spice, nutmeg, graham cracker
After “Pippin Pie,” I tested this one, hoping to get a better result from what I remembered as “key lime pie, but with pineapple.” Out of the vial I’d gotten no fruit, but I hoped this would change on my skin.
I was wrong. I was very, very wrong. The sweet crust evolved into a full-on icing accord that overwhelmed my nose, to the point where I had to scrub. There was no pineapple. ☹
Rating: 0/5 – definitely try this if you like icing
“Killer Tomatoes” – tomato leaf, sun-dried tomato, dirt, fig, patchouli
All right, I’d had several noes in a row and really wanted a yes. I needed a great green perfume. Funnily enough, in my curiosity regarding AoE’s sun-dried tomato note I’d previously tried “Garden Warfare,” but gotten mostly dirt from that one. In a review I posted to IMAM, the actual perfumer behind AoE commented that “Killer Tomatoes” was what I really wanted. It’s late, but I did eventually try it!
And it’s what I wanted. As far as green profiles go, it’s in a similar vein to Morari “Tomato Vine” – but whereas that is pure green leaves and almost spa-like in its Zen, “Killer Tomatoes” has a tanginess that really does evoke tomato flesh (particularly of the sun-dried variety). I don’t know how AoE did this (most “tomato” notes in perfumery refer to the leaves & vine), but they did it. And I love it!
Rating: 5/5 – I found my tomato!
“Viva Piñata” – guava, hibiscus, hot spice, mango, coconut, beach, cola, sandalwood
This was the last one I tested, and one I’d remembered really being hyped about. It’s also the one I can smell the least out of the vial – remarkably subtle. On skin, a sort of candied / dried mango accord started to form, and I got excited! It didn’t stay sweet, though – or project very much. Eventually it became mainly a soft musk, which really isn’t my thing.
Color me shocked, though, when I got the notes list for this review and saw sandalwood. If I’d remembered sandalwood was in this, I wouldn’t have purchased it. Luckily, this didn’t cause a migraine, but that “soft musk” I picked up I’m not guessing was sandalwood combined with whatever makes the “beach” note (sand, waves, etc.). I wish the fruits had stuck around, and that I’d gotten the hot (presumably chili) spice.
Rating: 2/5 – out with a whimper
This was… kind of a disappointing haul, if I’m being honest. Outside of the FS I’d purchased from Possets of “Dance with Me,” which I already love, I’m only keeping two of my samples and destashing everything else. I’ve put myself on no-buy now, until I sell my destashes and use up more of what I already have.

I hit my head hard just 3 times this month possible concussion level just due to being clumsy and having poor spacial awareness. I accidentally get hurt very often by running into things I don’t mean to. Idk how to stop. This time I was just getting out of the car and hit my head on the way out. Last time it was on the door frame bc I was in a rush leaving for work. The time before that I had sneezed while throwing something in the trash and hit my head on the counter. Idk what to do!!!

I have a 2022 WRX and I don’t know all that much about how engines work and about parts etc… so when I start modifying it, I’ll need some help. But to the main point, my Peak boost was always 12.5 since the day I got the car. Yesterday morning when I got in the car to go to work, it was down to 7.0. At lunch, it went up to 7.5. Today I called the dealership service department and the guy said he has no idea why it would do that. I told him I’d been trying not to hit 7.5 just because I wasn’t sure if there was a problem. He suggested I should push it and see what happens. So I did, just a little and it went up to 8.5 then to 9.0. So now I’m thinking ‘maybe it just needs me to push it up higher’. So that’s what I tried. But it would not go up past 9. The boost would hit 9 and then just die off.
Can someone explain to me why this happens and what it means? Is it a bad thing? Is my turbo damaged? Do I need to be careful about how much boost I’m putting out until I can get it looked at? I have an appointment on the 21st, almost two weeks from now. Until then, what do you all suggest?

Throw away. So my (27f) friend Amy (27) has been with her bf Mike (28) for a good nine years. Amy came out as poly about five years ago, and Mike whole heartedly supported her as did our friendship group in general. I’ve known Amy since high school so it wasn’t much of a surprise, but the actually surprise is how she began to act after getting her new bf Sam (27).
We met Sam about two years ago via a mutual friend. We all hit it off quite well and pretty soon he was integrated into our group even though he lives a good two hours away. Sam and Amy clicked particularly well and it only took a couple of months before she and him were practically dating without the label. Mike showed zero worry during this though and almost encouraged Sam to just ask Amy out. So the two began to date and things were chill until Sam began to visit Amy and Mike more frequently.
Amy would tell me that Sam would take her out on dates, but deny Mike when he’d ask (which he’d later confide to my bf about, but played it off as a joke). She’d say how sweet and loving Sam was, but then express how Mike had grown distant and rude. If we’re out, she’s hanging on Sam and stealing kisses from him but Mike is left to himself. It feels like for every positive of Sam there was a negative to Mike. Which was weird? Because Mike is a chill dude and even helped me with my own bf when we had relationship issues.
So today, I was once again told by Amy how wonderful Sam was and how they were going to a movie later that day. I briefly asked if Mike was going with and she said that no, she hadn’t asked him because he was rude to her that day. Which I can’t see as true because this morning he was having coffee with my bf and I and saying how he feels like he’s losing her to Sam.
I told her straight that it sounds like she’s neglecting him for Sam and she lost it on me. Told me I was interfering where I shouldn’t. So am I the asshole for telling her she’s neglecting Mike when I’ve seen her do it with my own eyes and heard it with my own ears?
Edit: I do want to add that they’ve both come to me for separate reasons. Amy normally does it to tell me how Mike is being cold and distant with her, and Mike saying how he can’t get any time or affection from her when Sam is around. So, it’s why I felt that within the moment I could say something like that to Amy.

My brother was in the car with my friend when they were hit by a drunk driver, not a major accident, basically a fender bender. My friend is lawyering up and his lawyer contacted my brother asking if he wants representation, we don’t know if it’s worth it. Just generally curious, my brother wasn’t hurt.

Spent another $540 today. Probably my 7th or 8th trip this year so far. Gotta be hitting 4k-4500 spent, by far my largest haul ever. I can’t wait to post stash pics soon.
