This theme has been quite a ride, and it’s definitely among the most difficult I’ve ever had to deal with. I started to experience this in March of this year, and it really put me into quite a depression to the point where I couldn’t focus at work or be in peace. I started talk therapy, and I’m currently looking into medicine. Lately, I have been at probably the most peace I have been. Sometimes even questioning if I have it at all, I have started to feel more like me, who I’ve always been; a man! I can’t tell you how many times that this felt so real and had no escape. And now I feel like I’m slowly pulling out, and life is feeling good again. I know I could relapse and I’m not expecting for this to just fully go away, but I just want you to know that this doesn’t have to be your whole life. I’m no longer fighting with myself lately, I’m just, me. Some tips I’ve learned along the way that I’d like to share with you guys:
Do not browse Reddit constantly, especially subreddits that center around transgender topics, and look for some kind of reassurance. It took me a while to learn but, you CANNOT hope to gain clarity about your own journey and life through the experiences of others. You are also exposing yourself to posts that can trigger you, and make you feel as though this is real and you’re in denial. Don’t do this. In fact, the goal is to hopefully do away this Reddit sub altogether.
Stop your compulsions, don’t compare how you like seeing yourself, a man, non binary, woman, etc. Also if you have any physical compulsions, trying on clothes, finger tapping, magical numbers, breathing or number equality, etc. STOP. By “protecting” yourself with these compulsions, you are enforcing the idea that you have something to be protected from.
Stop fighting the fear. Say maybe, maybe not. Do not keep strictly fighting the idea that you are NOT trans. This only reinforces ideas that you are in denial and that you are hiding from yourself. Say, “well, I could be! And if I am, I get the final call on what I want to do. And that very well could be to do nothing.”
If you have the resources to do ERP and get medicine, do so. Humanity has worked hard to finally reach the point in the world where mental health is a priority.
Lastly, enjoy your life. It really doesn’t matter what happens. This earth and planet is so beautiful, against all odds, you EXIST. You get to be HERE. Be social, do the things you like, remember to be here, right now. Life is meant to be lived an enjoyed. I’m always here for you guys!

Does anyone have any tips I am struggling really badly with health OCD. For context: I have genuine diagnosed medical conditions (eg Crohn’s and others) which hugely affect my life and it was a traumatic few years before I was diagnosed. but my health OCD about things there’s no evidence for is going mental recently. As an example, I am checking the colour of my skin and eyes at least 10 times per hour for signs of jaundice, convinced I’m in liver failure despite having good liver function on recent blood tests. When I check my skin I can’t be close to anything yellow, orange, red, warm indoor lighting or anything else my brain decides incase it impacts my ability to detect yellowing. If the lighting isn’t just right I will move somewhere else so I can properly see the colour. A little while ago I was sobbing in the doctors office convinced i was about to give birth (despite not having had a partner for almost a year). Obviously I logically knew I couldn’t possibly be, but the intrusive thoughts just wouldn’t leave and ended up being sent for blood tests and a scan to rule it out.. (top tier doctor though!!) (- my doctor put it down to me being so unconnected with my body through the symptoms that I struggle with (and she’s right, this doesn’t feel like my body). But at the moment I am controlled by these stupid thoughts, I can’t even avoid checking my skin when I’m working, socialising because I’m doing it then too. Tried wearing outfits where I can’t see my skin but that just lead to me being constantly up and down removing clothing so I could check. Does anyone have any tips?

Hi! I've always wanted to try pen pal-ing, specifically via snail mail. It's so fun to receive actual letters! I also have gotten into fountain pens, so would love an excuse to use those. I have lots of random old stickers and tons of washi too, so I'd love to (messily) decorate some letters and maybe eventually swap washi swatches some time.
A bit about me: I'm an economics student in the USA, about to graduate shortly. As I'm about to finally be free from school, I though this would be a great time to finally try this out and use up my fun journaling supplies. I'd love someone to chat with and maybe send letters once or twice a month. But I understand life gets busy, so I don't want mailing things out to ever become a chore for anyone! I'm also happy to send short or long letters - if you tell me your preference, I can try to respond in kind. I'm happy to exchange short letters about our interests or long rambles about ouyour day.
As a note, my handwriting is meh but still legible I believe!
Some of my interests:
- movies, tv shows, video games, and Youtube (oh my!). I have lots of favorite media that I can't list it all here, but feel free to ask of course! I just thought it'd be a great thing to save for the letters ;) For movies and tv shows, I find myself reading the wiki plots of things I never even intend to watch. So I love hearing about the shows/movies people like and recommend, or just hearing you recap the whole plot and your thoughts/judgements/excitement. For video games, the only ones I don't like/play are PvP and MMO type games. I don't play horror myself but watch it on Youtube. I love everything from AAA games like Zelda totk, to wholesome indie games coming out on steam, to strange horror puzzle games like the Rusty Lake series, and so on and so forth! I love keeping up to date with games coming out and finding hidden gems. Finally, on youtube I do watch a lot of gaming, but also like stuff like The Watcher Ghost Files and Mystery Files (aka the new Buzzfeed Unsolved), Defunctland, Nick Diramrio reviewing movies I've never seen, etc etc etc.
- animals/pets. I have a dog and fish right now, but have had cats, rats, etc. in the past. I love hearing about and seeing peoples' pets. I even have a mini printer if I need to send pet pics haha.
- art. I love trying new types of art - clay sculpting, painting, cross stitch. Right now I'm trying to journal regularly (but am veryyyyy behind). I love miniature sculpting and writing in my hobonichi planners.
- baking and cooking. I am not an adventurous eater and I don't have a refined palette, but I do enjoy these things nonetheless!
- dolls, miniatures, toys, figures, plushies. I love collecting miniatures and that led to liking dolls. Just little cute things!
- Other random stuff I like - Legos, puzzles, board/card games, piercings. I am also interested in learning html/css.

I've had this J-BL on my to-watch list for over six months, ever since I saw a post by u/MidwesternLibrarian that it was available on GagaOOLala (for those in the US at least), and then someone else on this sub specifically recommended it, and I can't remember who (but thank you!) After just finishing Our Dining Table (hugs for Minoru and Yutaka, the sweetest boys), I'm feeling full of appreciation for well-written, tightly crafted, just-an-average-life-story Japanese BLs and I suddenly remembered this movie. I'm currently recovering from a nasty cold and lying around today, so I got to watch it in one sitting (it's about 1 hr 40). This movie is so delightfully rewarding, I had to share.
Mitsuomi (played by Furukawa Yuki) is a 20-something salaryman in Tokyo with a job that he clearly hates. He quits in a huff and goes home slumpily to stay with his parents in the countryside. His father thinks he's a slacker and Mitsuomi is filled with frustration and regret and no idea of what to do next. He ends up getting his days commandeered by a sparkly and enthusiastic young local farmer named Yamato (played by Ryusei Ryo) and his adopted father, who need help harvesting oranges and strawberries during the rush season when their worker quits. The story that unfolds is both quiet and quotidian, and also unexpectedly complex and full of true pathos.
I was expecting the main plot to focus solely on Mitsuomi, who presents from the start as a guy who cannot quite figure out what he wants. It seemed like a standard late-bloomecoming-of-age story. To my delight, slowly we see that Yamato too has a crucial character arc. The pace of that discovery for the viewer is set through Mitsuomi's eyes, as it takes him a long while to see the deep waters below Yamato's cheery exterior. The two have a delicate and slow-growing mutual affection, although its unclear how self-aware either of them is about it for a while. The eventual denouement plays out with unexpected honesty and emotional vulnerability.
All the side characters make sense too. There is a reason for every one of them to be there. They add to the characterizations of the two leads, and they each have small, complicated lives of their own. There really isn't a single cookie-cutter character in the story. Everything fits because it belongs.
This made me think of Old Fashion Cupcake, and Our Dining Table, as mentioned at the start. The plot of the romance is handled with the same weight as the big-picture character arcs that our two leads go through. It doesn't really feel like a pure romance, like Cherry Magic. It's not as angsty as Minato's Laundromat or Jack O'Frost. Spice level is low but not zero. Think Our Dining Table, not Jack O'Frost. Yes, there is a kiss (more than one, in fact), but quite chaste (and appropriate to the scene.)
I have been LOVING the Japanese BLs I've been watching lately (note that I'm choosing to ignore Naked Dining right now, which has sent me right over the edge with frustration), and this movie is hugely charming and deeply satisfying. I recommend it highly to those who think this is their cup of tea. In fact, watch it with a cup of tea and maybe some cookies. It's like a warm hug on a cloudy day.

And today is one of those times.
I'm not looking to hear "that's just life" or "it gets better". I know it gets better; I was heavily depressed in high school and my life entirely changed once I went to college. It was a fresh of breath air to get away from oppressively religious family and a verbally/emotionally abusive ex. I've survived s*xual ass*ult, survived a fucked up childhood, survived shitty friends who were wolves in sheep's clothing. I have an apartment now, a dog, a boyfriend, able to put food on the table - at 15, I didn't even think I'd be alive now at 24.
But it's every fucking time I get into a fight with my boyfriend. I don't make a lot of money, but enough to pay rent and groceries. Recently got into minor medical debt, but he said it's okay. He said he'd help me with it. It felt too good to be true.. someone wanting to help me? Never even received financial help from my parents.
Until he starts a fight today, saying it's my fault he doesn't have money. He jabs his finger at me, repeats it 5 times and it's like pressing hard into bruise that won't heal. I won't get into the details, but all of his disposable income turns into joint ashes.
But even if I knew his anger wasn't justified, I feel like I'm 7 years old again with my parents screaming in my face telling me how stressful I make life for them. How I'm "ruining the family" for wanting to sleep in on a weekend. How miserable I make their lives.
And I have nothing more to say when this happens. I shrink inside myself, wishing I could have given my devout Christian parents some birth control back in 1999. They even told me themselves that I "hadn't been planned" and never got an abortion because of their beliefs; although they never explicitly said I was an accident, they sure made me feel the weight of those words.
I just wish I've never been born. Would've been way easier for everyone involved.
I know life is hard and it's in my own hands to chase after my own happiness, but I wouldn't even know where to start looking. Unconditional love is a myth, a mere fantasy. Never received it from my own mother, sure as hell won't receive it from a man. There isn't a person I've met in this life that wouldn't be negatively impacted if I didn't even exist. My parents could've retired by now, my siblings would've had their degrees paid for, my boyfriend probably would've been a lot happier with another woman. Hell, even my dog could've gotten rescued by someone who actually has a backyard.

My boyfriend (21M) doesn't work, doesn't have a job, and doesn't go to school. All he does is play video games. He also says he designs clothes but he really just steals clothes from thrift stores and paints his brand's logo on them with acrylic paint. Whenever we go out, he has to ask his mom for money and asks her to drive us since he feels embarrassed when I drive him. He's funny and makes me laugh, but I feel like I have to hide who I am around him. I haven't told him I'm bi since he makes homophobic jokes at times. I really like him but it gets annoying at times when I ask him what his plans are for the future and his only response is "make it big".
My ex (18M) comes from a significantly lower-income household. He had to work tirelessly since he was 15. He saved up to buy his own car, as well as help his parents with the bills. He's really caring and I was able to feel like myself when I was with him. When I told him I was bi, he was very accepting. He wanted to understand more about my identity. I felt safe around him, but we had to break up since I was going through a rough patch in my life and didn't want to hurt him.
I graduated high school yesterday and there was a party after the ceremony. I went with my friends along with my ex since we're in the same friend group. My boyfriend, who I've been dating for 4 months didn't want to go because he was designing clothes. While my friends left me to party, my ex and I were left alone in the corner. We talked for a while and this overwhelming feeling of different emotions fell over me.
One thing I felt was a bit of melancholy. My ex told me he decided to join the Marines. I felt sad knowing that I won't see him for a while. I also felt sad since there were so many things I wasn't able to tell him after we broke up.
Another thing I felt was a bit of resentment. Not towards him, but toward my current boyfriend. I thought to myself, "Why does my ex talk to me with more respect than my own boyfriend? How is he more responsible than someone who's had everything handed to him his entire life?" At that moment, I wished I could be with my ex instead. I wished that I could just hold him and tell him how much I missed him.
I read somewhere that this sort of "phase" happens in most relationships: where one person feels that they're losing feelings for their current partner, but after they wait a while longer, their feelings come back. Does this sound like the case for me? Should I just wait it out and move on? I really need help.
TLDR: I think I still love my ex but I'll not sure if it's just a phase.

I stared out the window, seeing the sun shrink as we moved further away. Strangely, the Kuiper Belt did not obscure my view of it. Was it the consequence of the Pyramid moving through the field or was I just lucky?

The door made a sound as it opened. I turned to see Iris walk in. It felt weird, both wearing suits, knowing how they got onto us in the first place.

"How are you doing?" she asked.
"It feels... like I'm not wearing anything." I replied.
"Well, you definitely are, I can say that much."

I looked at her hands, once again paying attention to how they weren't red like the rest of her suit.
​
"What about your hands? Your head?"
"Ah," Iris said, "I... pulled it back."

She winced as she said this.
​
"What? How?"
"The suit responds to your will, increasing physical force when you want it to, reinforcing areas when you want it to, all that. Resonance also flows through you, though I'm sure you feel that much."
"I do."
"Anyway, I just... willed it. It hurt like hell, but it was worth it."
"So you had a helmet?"
"Had. That part won't come back."
"We've gotten so little data on this from the team that encountered Rhulk, and Nezarec didn't seem to correlate with it."
"Let me show you."

She came up to me, holding my arm and lifting it.

"The suit is extremely durable despite it feeling weightless. However, here," she said, pointing at the point where my converted forearm met the suit, "you can see the discoloration. This means the suit is damaged or otherwise compromised. The conversion couldn't be reversed, but it has been stopped, but that also means ever point where the suit starts to turn gray can be a weak point in battle."
"Are we going to battle?"
"Uh..." she paused, "maybe. Sol still has a lot of pockets of resistance that could possibly interfere. The Witch's brood, for example."
"You want to fight the Lucent Brood?"
"The Witch may be dead but her army continues in her stead, led by one of those... drone things. Ghosts, right?"
"Yeah..."
"Funnily enough, they've started deploying ships. If requested, we'll be there to hunt them down."
"Requested? By who?"
"Damea, she's... very close to the Witness for some reason. She hasn't told me."

I turned to see the sun again, an asteroid finally blocking my view for a few seconds. I felt arms wrap around me, Iris's head resting on my shoulder.

"But it doesn't matter, you're here. That's what matters."

I relaxed my body. The memory of my past life reorganizes itself. I raise my hand and hold one of hers. I feel... happy.

A Note on What "Season 1" Means I break my campaigns into distinct narrative arcs or sections known as "Seasons," which is a sort of half-step between an adventure and a campaign. Typically, a season begins with a fairly railroad-y starting scenario, leading to an inciting incident that establishes the overall goal and antagonist of the season. From here, PCs are given several objectives that they can complete in their own way and at their own pace, helping to grow their power until they can challenge the final part of the season.

This game is set in a homebrew world, but most of your assumptions from Raxia will probably hold true here. There are abysses, sword labyrinths, Barbarous, elves, tabbits, etc., just with a slightly different flavor and mythic history to set them apart.

This post is coming from someone who is most likely a legalist with a touch of ocd. It seems like I notice things/actions around me that I considewonder if they are sinful. i.e joking with coworkers, going over the speed limit even by a few miles over, thoughts that I shouldn't be thinking. Then theres issues that I think about like following every rule that I'm aware of once I become aware of it because of romans 13. My mind constantly has me second guessing myself. It seems like the smallest things that I deal with in my life whether at work or around me if I don't do them the way there supposed to be done I consider it a sin that I committed. Like for example at work lets say I'm preparing prepared food products for customers. If I dont follow the procedure for what your supposed to wear when preparing foods or how your supposed to clean equipment to a T then I would probably feel like I would have sinned. It's the same thing with driving if the speed limit says 40 I'm going 40. It has made driving a not so enjoyable experience for me but I follow the law and what romans 13 tells us to do. I am hoping someone reading this has had or is going through a similar experience to me because its like I cant be at ease when doing certain things. All help, advice would be really appreciated. Edit:Even now I'm a little worried of this post harming someone negatively by causing them to have the same issues.
