2016 chevy cruze cabin air filter

Are these fires going to be common this summer? Should I be investing in a HEPA air filter?

If this has the possibility to continue I’m gonna need a air filter, if u have any recommendations let me know I live in like a mini cabin home so it just needs to filter a medium medium large room.

2023.06.10 00:36 Ill_Effective_7425 2012 Camry Hybrid 115,000 miles transmission fluid exchange service - is it necessary?

Took car to toyota dealer for oil change and they said I need transmission fluid exchange service done on my 2012 Toyota camry hybrid xle. It's never had it done before as far as I know. I've read mixed info online regarding this. The maintenance log that came with the car makes no mention of transmission fluid. Dealer would charge about $280.
They also said I needed a bunch of other things done like coolant and inverter coolant flushes and new spark plugs that I've actually had done at another local toyota dealership within last 10-20,000 miles. They said I need a new cabin air filter even though I literally just changed it myself. So I'm pretty skeptical and unsure what actually needs to be done. The other service they said is critical is PCV valve and they'll charge about $630.
The total for everything they wanted me to do was over $3,000.
Going on a road trip soon and want to make sure car is reliable but also recently lost job and trying to save money. Any advice on the transmission fluid and PCV valve is appreciated!

2023.06.09 21:43 b20828 2007 Saturn Vue 2.2L Low idle rpm

I'm experiencing low idling rpm (600 rpm, with a little shaking when it gets that low). A few behaviors to note:
1) It does not do this when the intake air temperature sensor is disconnected. (I replaced the sensor but it did not change the behavior). When the IAT is disconnected it idles around 800 rpm.
2) Turning on the cabin fan increases engine rpm and the roughness goes away.
3) The idle drops a bit when the brake pedal is depressed.
4) Aside from low idle rpm, the vehicle seems to run fine with reasonable acceleration and cruise behavior.
5) Recent service included new plugs, transmission fluid and filter, air filter, new valve cover gasket and oil change, new front brake caliper assemblies, rear brake shoes and brake fluid bleed.
What are the likely causes to look at first? I few items on my short list are vacuum leak, throttle bottle excessive deposits, crankcase ventilation issue.
Thank you very much for any suggestions.

Small parts list for the 850
Cabin air filter kit because my car didn't come with one. windshield wiper arms to correct the crappy factory ones. Headlight wiper arms due to missing cap and finally that faulty washer pump I've been ignoring forever.

2023.06.09 09:24 poopbrainape Need help with 2.0 TDI Audi A3 (8V)

Hello.
I have a manual, 2.0 tdi Audi A3 from 2014, land of quattro model and sometimes it acts really weird. My car has 160,000 kilometers driven at the moment.
What happens;
- Idle rpm goes to 1k and stays there and car's responsiveness to throttle is a bit delayed. Normal is around 850.
- Clutch and gas pedal feels a bit "softer".
- Radiator fan is spinning, even when shutting down the car.
- If I push the gas pedal really well the car will go kinda like on and off, so it will accelerate but it somewhat "disconnects" for lets say 0.2 seconds, then accelerating for 3 seconds and then doing it again.
- Sometimes restarting the car fixes the problem, but usually if I shutdown the car and go somewhere, couple hours later this doenst happen.
- This happens in a random pattern, can be once a week, or once in 3 months.
- Diesel cabin pre-heater that is controllable from MMI system is turned off, it was turned on and when it ran it would give me the smell of a burning plactis. So maybe a wire shortcut over there?

What I have done;
- Every maintenance on time
- Chip tuned to stage 1
- K&N Air filter
- Spark plugs for diesel (whatever they are called)

Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?

Very very long backstory, hmu and we can talk abt it
BUT.. What can I live w/o? Ik if I choose used tires instead of new, it should only cost $250 for 4 instead of $880 and the catalytic is only gonna cost me $699 to purchase n replace (i.e. dealership discount) so I was just going to do the catalytic, tires, and alignment for now and save the rest for later. I just don't have the money for everything rn (only 18) What should my priorities be?

2023.06.09 06:07 keepermovin69 P0175 and P0172

I have a 2013 Chevy Silverado LT with about 160k miles. Check engine light came on, and I used my obd2 scanner to find p0172 and p0175 codes (system too rich). I viewed live data at idle and while it was being driven and the long term fuel trim from both banks was -30% at idle and while coasting, but went up to single digits when accelerating or at highway speed. Short term fuel trim for both banks was single digits (normal). I changed the air filter and checked for air intake blockages and that didn’t change anything. Spark plugs were all replaced about 6 months ago. O2 sensors are reading at normal voltages according to my scanner. MAF sensor was taken out and blown off with some canned air.
Not sure what’s causing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I believe many people aren't regularly checking their cabin air filter, this is different from the engine air filter. It's often accessible from inside the car. During one of the first fire seasons I looked it mine and it was black! Get a HEPA filter from Amazon etc. Just make sure it fits your car.
They go up to $25 or so and basically are a N95 for your car. Spread the word!

2023.06.09 02:29 Toodaloomuthafker Is leaving the cabin air filter out bad for anything?

I just ordered a replacement from amazon & I couldn’t stand the smell in my truck. I’m an idiot & didn’t change it since summer 2021! The air conditioning blows so much cooler & hard now with it out LOL I didn’t expect that. Obviously I’m going to put the filter in when I get it in a few days, but is it bad for the blower motor or anything to leave the filter out for a few days? I’m in Arizona if that helps, dusty dry heat weather etc.

2023.06.09 02:14 Head_Bee4265 Car AC issues

I have a 2017 Chevy Cruze, and starting this summer my drivers side AC blows hot air (it can be cold, but only if it’s cold outside), but my passenger side is always cold. If I turn my drivers vents off, my passenger side ones get warm. Any idea what this could be? I brought it to the mechanic and he said it was a computer issue, but I want some opinions before I schedule a second opinion. Thanks!

2023.06.09 01:38 raven-jade PSA for if you choose to drive in the smoke

Don't forget about your cabin filter!!!
Get a new one on order ASAP, and Google how to change it yourself. (It's usually as simple as switching out a flashlight battery.) Your filter will NOT be the same after driving in this.
A few years ago Portland spent a lot of time in 400+ AQI. It was literally off the charts in the apps we used to track it. People were building DIY air filters for their homes, and they would get filthy in just a day of use. You don't want to be breathing any remnants of this shit after the smoke clears.
